Putting a pedal washer behind the derailleur bolt so the derailleur doesn't pivot backwards and it stays quieter.

How does this work ?
Easiest budget carry strap is 300mm drone battery lipo strap. They come in silicone and kevlar reinforced variants, and some decent colors.
I use hockey tape on my brake levers

Side note, I placed Grip Tape on my levers about a year ago. Get ready to fly through gloves. I have had to buy three pairs this season when normally I get a new pair once a year. Hey wait a minute, you guys sell gloves...I see what you did there. :)
I don't even get the grip tape thing. I just drill holes in it if I can not grip it or grooves.
I use velcro
skiboot steeze boot dude its not bad at all this guys over reacting i have grip tape on all my bikes and havent once worn a hole from it maybe get better gloves

Is a hydration pack lame? Not if I’m thirsty. I understand enduro guys not wanting to wear them, it’s extra weight but should someone decide they want to, who cares? When did mountain biking become so Hollywood? Oh no! He’s not wearing the right shirt! Hydration packs are so last year! Lol! I’m just hear to ride the trail, don’t mind me...
For most rides I find hydrating lots before and after + 1 bottle in the cage is plenty 😊
1 bottle on the frame, 2 in the hippack, i just cant stand how a full pack feels, i would carry everything on the bike if i could.

At Home Depot the rubber tape is in the electrical department.
took me so long to find it, a good 30 minutes of looking in store.. but the stuff is a godsend for sure!
It's used to water tighten electrical connections.
I put the grip tape on my rotors, spray polish on my tires, 3M tape around around my chain, moto sponge in my spokes and velcro straped my brakes levers to my grips.

My favorite is glitter added to tire sealants

My riding buddies make fun of me but I ALWAYS use 1.5oz Wade's secret sauce (tire slime sealant, ant freeze, rubber cement, water) and 1.5oz orange endurance seal with half a teaspoon each of 4 different sizes of glitter, some crushed black pepper, a heaping teaspoon of corn meal (kitty litter works too) and some rubber shavings I cut from worn out knobs on old tires . . . My friends say its overkill but I have only needed to use a bacon strip one time since I started using this concoction. I swear it seals 99.9% of punctures and more importantly it seals them FAST so virtually no air pressure is lost. Trust . . . . It works
top tip, put the grip tape on your tyres for extra grip in those muddy conditions!

Bottombracket magnet axle with integrated tools in the axle is handy, ive seen many EWS racers been doing that.

SC1 is a gift from god himself! I use it on my quad, mtb bike, and even truck on all the black trim pieces!
What I used for strap to carry my tubes is an old broken leash that I used for surfing It's wide and the velcro is strong.
Simple green to clean your whole bike. Especially the drive train. This works
amazing and it %100 good on brakes. And using king of lube chain oil. These two things have keep my drive train looking amazing for the last year.
Murphy's Oil Soap is also great for bike washing
Clean your bike spotless apply any 3m tape for wear areas and then do a ceramic coating a $15 bottle (like Turtle wax hybrid) will do multiple vehicles and your bike. It's hydrophobic and repeals dirt/mud very well. You can also add a coat of Maxima SC-1 a silicone bases product, I find the ceramic coat lasts much longer.

I'd always rather use bag instead of strap for holding spare inner tyre and tools. I like to give inner tire a bit more space so it is not totally squeezed like with the strap, as it gets damaged over time on the most bent parts.
Also, put frame tape anywhere the strap or contents touch the frame. Mine wore through the paint in about five rides!
Yeah I don't like dealing with a muddy gritty inner tube if I'm installing it.

Instead of using Velcro straps for the tube and such use Voile straps. Velcro degrades in hold strength after a lot of use and also gets harder to use when it's muddy. Voile straps are rubber and will never loosen by themselves and also handle adverse conditions very well. They were originally ski straps but the bikepacking community has found they work great for holding stuff on the bike like bottles and tents and such. Sometimes for longer rides I'll attach a spare water bottle onto my top tube as my bike has just one bottle cage. I use also one to hold my U-lock on my commuter bike.

Props for the tips! I put the rubber tape on my Switchblade in open areas, and no more chain noise! Love it! I also used it on my shifter lever in place of the grip tape, works awesome!

Here’s a tip: most water bottle cages have a open section in the middle where the bolts go. It’s a great place to fit a tire lever

eletrical tape a spare chain link to your shift cable at the shifter. always comes in handy.
The 3 m tape is for electrical work. It’s in the electrical section of the depot. I use it all the time on my gt sensor. Chain stay for my chain and my heels works excellent.

For chainstay protection I use tennis grip tape, had it on for over a year and it still looks good and protects frame well.
Tip: Drill screws into your tires for extra grip. Your sealent will fill it up
yup and if you run someone over or your self uh that must hurt
Slapper tape is awesome stuff. I always hit a new bike with plenty of slapper tape to prevent that chain rattle. Another good pro tip i saw is to use heat shrink instead of cable ties to hold your gear cables and brake cables together. Looks real sleek!

The tape can also be used to make ridges where your chain is slapping on your chainstay. The ridges slow down the harmonic oscillations of the slap.
The rubber mastic tape looks like butyl joining tape for pond liners so you could also try pond supply outlets.

Fork Cork to take a tubelees repair kit... zip ties inside hollow crank hole... quick link taped down the saddle :)
gloves with sticky rubber fingers and grips with large flanges, also tape a tube co2 levers and a godo multi tool to the frame, zip ties in the crank

I did the tube strapped to the frame trick.. until I had to shove a nasty dirty tube into my tire. Lots of cleaning when I got home to get all the small sand and dirt out of my tire.. next time I'll take a hike in the woods to find me a creek to clean my tube before putting it in or put the tube in a sandwich bag LOL.
Grip tape is a great tip, but from experience I would take a rock and gently remove some of the grit before putting it on your brakes / shifter. I went through two pairs of gloves in one downhill season from grip tape ripping through the fingers.
That would be my concern as well.

Mastic tape is used in the Electrical Field often when they do splices in wires. Its used as an insulator
By far the best trick to go faster is to apply wd 40 on your brakes i can't tell you the difference:))
I used a used inner tube i cut a nice piece and than use tie wraps to put it on my frame works great but then i bought the Shimano XTR M 80000 dereailluer that have a lock on system that will prevent chain slapping
That polish might not be a good suggestion for Matte finish bikes.

you can spray lemon pledge on fenders and the down tube, prevents mud from sticking.
I think the main reason for moto foam is to keep the weight of your bike low if you ride in deep mud. If it's really muddy and your bike has some places where mud collects this can quite add up to some additional weight. When you put moto foam at these places then there is less space for the mud to collect - thus it keeps the weight low.
A great hack I use is to fit everything I need in an altoids tin and put it in my pocket, then rubber band a co2 to the outside of that. My favorite thing is a mini ratchet with Allen and t25 bits that fits in there too! If you aren’t carrying a tube this is great.

I use a traction pad for surfing and cut it into pieces, or strips......better than mastic tape!! I use it on my chainstays, downtube, seatstays, and dropper post, shift levers. Da Kine would make a killing if they branched out into frame protection for MTB's!!

Mastic tape is used for work on electrical splices and such. Personally I prefer linerless rubber splicing tape on my bike. Both items available at any wholesale electrical supplier. Both are a 3m product
We electricians use the 3m mastic tape for insulating joints made with split bolts.
I got a 1 up edc and a granite strap with one of those mini tubes and the granite tool with a masterlink plyer tools and 2 tirelevers and it holds a masterlink and my edc holds 1 too. The masterlink plyers also dubbles as a tire valve nut remmover in case i need the tube. And a small tire pump. I think I'm good to go.

I don't know if it's just me but I find the grip tape is a little rough with my fingers. When I ride in the wet I use brake lever grips from Miles Wide.

I use a strap and 2nd water bottle for essentials.
Pro tips: gripper tape on my pedal faces, Velcro handle on my integrated battery, $20 bill in seat post for emergencies, toilet paper in the camelback, bucket in car with a bag liner for use with said toilet paper, first aid kit with epiPen, emergency contacts in wallet, emergency reflective blanket, trash bag poncho, Deet, sunscreen SPF 100, duct tape, zip ties, bear spray (or CCL), satellite phone📱 ....oh, and body armor

the 3m Tape is usually in the Electrical dept in Home Depot and can also be used as rim tape.

Hey these are GREAT tips. I love the grip tape on the brakes. I've used hockey tape, which I use for many things on bikes, but I'm going to try the grip tape now.
I need a tip--do you have one for this: What's a good solution for protecting the BB side of my SWAT inside my carbon SJ frame? I've heard that dirt, debris, pine needles, field mice, racoons, circus clowns, etc, can get down into the BB area and I DON'T want that to happen. "Dear Abby, is there a solution?" Thanks!

you can search products on Home Depot's website for the store location you are at, and it'll tell you what aisle/bay the product is in.
BEST CHAIN LUBE: Get raw high grade paraffin wax and P.T.F.E. in the 1.6 micron variety. You want a 10 to 1 ratio wax to P.T.F.E. Put into a small sauce pan and heat on stove on lowest possible setting, stirring frequently and NEVER allowing it to come to a boil. Bend a metal hanger and hook it through your chain several times, don't forget to hook your quick link as well (clean chain THOROUGHLY with degreaser before hand and make sure its completely dry). Dip your entire chain in the liquid mix once everything has melted into a liquid. Swish your chain around several times, let it sit 5 minutes swish again repeat 3 times for a total of 15 minutes. Pull chain out and hang it on something above the pain allowing the chain to drip dry until its completely dry (about 10 to 12 minutes). Find a round drawer knob to wrap chain around and pull back and forth to break up hardened wax and free rollers, then install. I GUARANTEE you will not only notice less drag when pedaling but you will DEFINITELY notice how much cleaner your entire drivetrain stays. Reapply every 90 days.👍
I know this is an old video but given Covid19 lockdown, lots of older videos are being viewed haha, but I have to say to me I will likely never get rid of my pack. I may be the only one but I prefer to have that extra room, to carry few other items others might not carry with them like a small first aid kit, snack bars, GoPro parts, wallet, keys etc. And you just can't strap that to the frame.

Good question! Everything is still held to the strap even when taken off of the bike!

Best tip ever? Hockey Tape. Works for everything....better than duct tape.

You can use Pledge in place of SC1..cheaper and does same/same..been using pledge on my motorcycles, RC Cars, and my Road/Mountain bikes....just don't get it on your rotors as stated in video. works great everywhere else.

Do I need to take out the moto foam before I wash my bike? Thinking a soaked sponge/piece of moto foam in any of those parts sounds scary
The proper foam is pretty porous so not necessarily, but a good idea to take it out so things dry more quickly
