I was fully expecting the initial hostage scene to start with "The police have things well in hand, nobody will get hurt, etc" followed by, "OPEN FIRE"
I'm actually shocked they let the hostages get out of the way before shooting that presumably unarmed man.
@@AgentofLADON The "hostile bank robber" was armed, he started shotting at the bugs when they showed up, looking like he might even be trying to save the civis (before being gunned down by one of the police squads). That said, given the universe i would not be surprised if they gunned everyone down even if he was unarmed and planted guns on him after and blamed him for all the civilian deaths.

Anyone else laugh really hard when the bugs came out and that one police unit took the chance to take that guy out at the start. That was soo starship troopers for me

26:56 the bomber drone is a temporary unit that can be summoned by elite police squads and can't fire unless there are no friendly units(surprisingly) since you asked
That police drone is a little temporary unit they spawn at their feet. Probably didn't notice it with all the stuff going on.
Honestly it makes sense that the police units are all pretty good. In canon the police force is only open to Mobile Infantry veterans.
Im more suprised that the cops are more citizen focused than the MI
Yay a police station, oh it says to setup machine gun turrets. Oh hey extra supply materials. *Proceeds to ignore making turrets then acts surprised bugs overwhelmed the walls*

The best thing this game does is stay faithful to the vibes of the original movie, and expand upon the universe. Those two combined really makes me want to buy this game when i financially can.

They did make controllable bugs in the Gehenna campaign. This might all end up a false flag operation.
