Years and years ago when I occasionally went abroad I could actually see the town or city as it was naturally lived. Now travel is so easy the quantity of people destroys that which we wish to see. I don’t want to stop people travelling but I wish there was some way that the dignity of the place could be respected. I can’t think how though.
I completely understand your sentiment about the changes in travel over the years. Perhaps encouraging responsible and sustainable tourism practices could be a step in the right direction. Finding a balance between accessibility and preserving the authenticity of a place is undoubtedly a complex task, but discussions around responsible tourism may offer some solutions. Good Luck
