Watched a gazillion videos about this lens and the channel with under 1k subs does the best job of showcasing the lens, thanks! Fantastic shots showing how the lens can make people pop in the city for everyday street or travel photography, this is what I wanted to see. Can I make a random person pop on the street? Yes. Can I make some full body portraits that still have some 3d pop while travelling? Yes. So many reviewers take this €800 lens and post flat images of trees or plants, stuff that my 10 year old phone with a shitty portrait mode could do. This walk here is actually making use of the 1.4 and sharpness, photos look great, keep it up!

My goal was exactly the one you described, is the lens good in terms of pop, rendering and autofocus.
Those were the things I wanted to know before buying it and eventually I decided to rent it for a weekend and test it myself.
And as you can imagine I bought one.
Thank you for your comment, it's very appreciated.

the photos are beautiful! May I ask is it SOOC? Or which film simulation did you use?

Thanks for your comment @linalbert , very appreciated.
The video actually started as an attempt to have only SOOC pictures using nostalcig negative, a myst filter and trying to achieve a soft dreamy look.
But the results were not as good as the ones you can have editing the raw.
So the final answer is no, every photos you see in the video is a raw file edited in lightroom.
      Hope that helps.

Beautiful images - are you using a mist filter?

Thank you. The originally idea when I went out was to use a mist filter and use only a film simulation. But…I wasn’t 100% happy with the result, with the mist filter the AF was struggling and when you use the filter raw files are affected as well.
So I decided to shoot raw, no filter, just editing.
      Thanks for your comment !

Nice work, but OK I'll bite - what are the letters/numbers/symbols for that pop up during this please?

Thank you. Long story short :
There was an intro of the video (30 secs), where I mentioned a link in the description containing a zip file with my preset used as base for the editing of all the pictures. That file had a password, the character you see are the password :)
I decided to remove it because everyone was skipping the video after 10 secs of the intro 🤷‍♂️

@@photorox Ah fair enough, shame that when people are missing out of good content, don't be put off by them
