I saw New England at Madison Square Garden in 1979 when I was 15 years old. They were opening for KISS. I bought their album and have been playing it for 39 years! "Don't ever wanna loose ya" is one of the best rock songs ever! Totally under rated band.

@@mikedomo5911 I was too .. Obviously, I was a huge KISS fan, but at 12 years old, I had no idea about opening bands .. When New England came on, I had no idea what to make of it - I didn;t know why KISS wasn't wearing makeup 🤣🤣🤣 ... My Dad straightened things out when he saw my perplexed reaction ... That Paul Stanley produced New England album is amazing, these songs still resonate July 24 1979

Hearing this song again after several decades brings back happy memories of the innocence of budding late adolescence. I was 18 when I first heard this one on the radio, way back in 1978. Just starting college, and first tasting the thrill of the freedom to make one's choices in life. Romantic, for sure. Really rewarding to see the band pull this off live so well, over 3 decades later. Chord progressions are still hauntingly beautiful. Long Live New England!

I had heard them on the radio and loved them. Picked up that first album and was amazed. I saw them in 1982, at the Merriweather Post Pavilion, MD. Opening act, Whitesnake cancelled and New England filled in. We were there so early we got to see their sound check. When they were done Hirsh came down to the edge of the stage and talked with us. Really cool, Dude. John walked around the audience while playing a solo. This was one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen!

Last time I saw them was when they opened for The Lines at Curry College in Milton, MA in 1981. Hirsh had a super cool visual with chase lights around the drum kit that looked rad in the night on the campus grounds. Exciting for the time period for sure. Still love the first album and this song is an absolute gem. First time I heard it was bombing down 128 late at night. I turned it up loud and gave more gas in the third lane. This version is full of fervor. Thanks for posting.

Man, just seeing the reflections off the guitar on the roof of the arena... wow! Gary was playing a Firebird bass, Hirsch, you had TWO bass drums that night, and 2 floor toms! And Jimmy, I remember the Hammond, the Mellotron and I think a Minimoog? Can you tell I was paying serious attention those two nights? New England literally was part of that magic that made me want to be a musician.
