Thank you so much for your video. I just have question... I have rcf 745 and hdm45 and I'm very happy with the power and quality. .my question is nxl44 mk2 more power than my other speakers? Thank you 🙏
perfect sound. thanks. good job :) so I wonder a song or music that playing time is 4:05. it is very hardly test sound. I liked it. What is its name? :)
hello, How does the HDM45 compare to the EVOX 12? I currently own the EVOX 12 and i think its a great speaker. I paired it with an 18 inch subwoofer when more bass is needed.
I found the hi hats on some of the songs a bit harsh and bit loud. Might be on the mix or maybe reflections from the ground. Bass is balanced and there's very low distortion in mid range too.
I ordered a pair from an NYC dealer, and I just got them yesterday. I’m a bit disappointed with them. It’s a real shame because I wanted to like them. I heard so many good things. And not to mention...the $6000 price tag for the pair 😭 The output is good, but it just doesn’t go as low as I had hoped. I did play with the settings, but maybe I’m missing something. 2 side notes; I’m a long time car audio and home theater guy, so...deep thunderous bass is in my blood. I’m also a bass player. I hope someone can help me out. I’ll be posting this comment on other similar videos on TH-cam. Thanks in advance for the help.
THE NXL44A WASN'T DESIGNED TO HAVE LOW IN BASS. EVEN THOUGH IT'S A FULL RANGE BOX, IT SHOULD BE USED WITH A SUB LIKE IN THIS VIDEO. THIS BOX HAS HIGH OUTPUT OF HIGHS AND MID BASS. IF YOU WANT MORE LOW END BASS, YOU NEED A BOX WITH A 15'' DRIVER.
You can’t compare the response of these subs in open air to an in-car setup. Cabin gain is what gives all that low end energy in your vehicle. Home theater is a similar situation in the enclosed room. Also, the frequency response graphs are easily accessible for these subs so if you’re craving home theater bass in the open outdoors you might have noticed that you’re wanting response into the low 20’s at least.
Really great system! Do you think you need to use this system with a Digital processor to make corrections in equalization at different venues or it's better to use them directly from the main console?
djHallam1, I don’t use a processor such as a DBX Driverack but I do EQ the system for the venue, generally using the parametric equalizer on the outputs of my digital mixer.
I am interested in buying the exact same set for my gigs. I was just wondering. How is the coverage in the middle if you point the top speakers directly forward? Do I need a center fill speaker?
RifatMuzik, I’d say that it depends on how wide your stage is (i.e. how far apart you have the speakers). I routinely have them about 24’ apart and don’t need a center fill.
Thanks for the video. How does a Nxl 44 A compares to a Jbl SRX 835p ? Specwise the jbl has 3dB more max. SPL. But the throw is maybe further on the rcf than the jbl? Would it be a good upgrade you think? thnx
Sorry for the delay. I just now noticed this question. They're pretty different cabinet designs so I don't know that a direct comparison would be fair. In general, however, I think you'd find the NXL-44A to be smoother in it's response. As far as the max SPL is concerned, it's worth noting that 3db is a "just noticeable" difference.
Would it be fair to say that, although the JBL might be somewhat louder, the NXL 44A has greater throw due to the 3 10" drivers and a more controlled vertical dispersion?
I would say that most likely this is true. I know that one of the most common compliments I get with my own NXL-24a's is that they sound the same (tonally, not volume) at 3 meters as they do at 30 meters. The intellibility at distance is certainly better than most cabinets at distance, from my experience.
Manufacturer specifications on output doesn't include power compression or port compression. Take them with a grain of salt, because they are just based on thermal power handling of the speaker and not distortion or mechanical limitations. You need to do live demo's and take notes on the conditions and listening environment, before making a sound decision on an investment like this.
Owned the JBL SRX835P for about 2 days and sent them back. Sound like a very overpriced Mackie!!! Very disappointed with JBL. Investing the money in RCF. But you can get the JBL and try for yourself, just my ears did't like them.. None of the boxes in that price range( There is the problem, they aren't boxes they are plastic)from all the majors sound good to me. I own 4 of the QSC HPR 122i speakers from about 8 years ago and QSC has decided to go a different direction and have not made a good box speaker since..My 8 year old QSC HPR Blow all of them away , especially in the mids. Have to spend a little more to have true pro sound!!! Oh and never look at the specs to decide.. Go listen to as many as you can before buying!!!!
We have a pair of RCF 8003 subs in our church hall (the room is 20 meters long, 12 meters wide, 5 meters high), what would you recommend for the tops ? The nxl 24 or the nxl 44? We are singing worship (live band), the hall has nice acoustics, the chairs start at about 4 meters in front of the speakers. I will surely apreciate your opinion on this. Thanks
Alioja, I would probably go with the NXL24's. Your sanctuary sound very similar in size to my own church and I know the NXL24's would sound amazing in my room. I also have a preference for their high end. The 44's are very nice, but I feel that the 24's are a little more.....friendly?.....for acoustic, worship, and speech in particular. Great cabinets.
thank you for our advice, so much apreciated! the only thing i fear is that the nxl 24 tops will outrun my 8003 subs...do you think this could be a serious issue? i mean, we are not looking to play the entire setup in full blast, i just want pristine quality, i was thinking on putting the subs to full and maybe the tops to half the power so it would balance the outut...do you think this is a good setup? thank you and i am waiting for your answer
Alioja, the NXL-24's could almost certainly outrun your subs but you've already come to the solution yourself: turn down the tops to match the output of the subs. One thing for certain, you won't be disappointed in the quality of sound out of the NXL-24's.
Lou Kraus Music Inc i think we will change the subs with the 80p4 after all and buy the nxl 24 A to pair it nice. 2 questions: 1. what pole do you use for the speaker? from what i saw at rcf they have a 6 inch pole and a 1 foot pole. i was guessing that your pole is surely not the 6 inch one, but it semms it' taller than one feet. which one is it? a link for it will be much helpful 2. do you think i will need a processor / crossover for them in our church or just use them like this? waiting for your answer,
Alioja, if you have the subwoofers on the stage then you would probably want the short poles. If the speaker system in on the same floor level as the audience, you will want the adjustable taller pole like you see in this video. It is the AC-PM-PM20. I don't believe it is on RCF's website but I have them available for $79.95 You should not need any additional processing. The Sub-8004 has several options on it's onboard processing. I would set the crossover on the Sub-8004 at around 110hZ. Signal is fed to the sub and then out of the sub's hi-pass output to the NXL-24. I would also get a 2 meter Powercon cable to go from the subwoofer to the NXL-24 so you would only need to run AC power to the sub. You can find all of these items at my website www.yourmusichq.com.
Sorry for the delay. I just now noticed this question. I would suggest you take a look at the spec sheet. Keep in mind that the chart is in an anechoic chamber and not half-space. I've used this sub for rock, blues, and country and it has done the kick drum very, very well, particularly considering it's size. If you're doing something like dub-step or other genres that require truly deep reproduction in a single driver sub, I'd look at the Sub-8007.
Gotta be just the recording. I've done the best I could with the equipment I have for the video, but these sound absolutely clean and pristine in person. I should also add that I'm limited in my music selection due to copyright laws and there is a little bit of compression on some of these recordings and that may be what you're hearing.
that looks like a really sweet combo, I'm amazed that the 8004 sub were able too keep up with the tops. Quality brand
johgus96, it was pretty balanced. For a lot of peoples tastes or for out to 100-150 feet or more, I would add another 8004 per side.

the HDM 45 or Nx45 with subs will blow away any evox, they have a 4” horn and a low crossover point
Why not set up two tops and 2 bottoms? Sounds great but would like to hear both pair
I found the hi hats on some of the songs a bit harsh and bit loud. Might be on the mix or maybe reflections from the ground. Bass is balanced and there's very low distortion in mid range too.
.Olá sou do Brasil...
.Qual é a média de distância de onde está sendo capturado esse Som?
Would you recommend this setup for a band? Playing outside, 300 crowd size?
Not sure if you are on youtube still, did you get my question?

BTW how is the low freq extension on the sub? I know the website states -+30 hz but how low does it really go?
Thanks!
