NETANYAHU IN CONGRESS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

  • Mike and Gadi have already written Netanyahu's speech in their imagination to their own satisfaction - we'll soon see how well they've guessed. But one thing is not in doubt: Iran will be a major theme. Judging by the prime minister's recent public statements, he is going to describe Israel as standing at the forefront of the West's war against "Iran's axis of evil." This seems like a pretty obvious thing to say in the US, but in the context of the current administration's regional policy - it is anything but. Mike and Gadi explain why.
Also: how will substituting Joe Biden for Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party's presidential candidate affect Israel?
Bonus: Joe Biden vs. Thomas Sowell

The story of Yair Lapid smiling and sitting in silence with Senator Kamala is an image that will be with me on my deathbed.

Great show, guys; keep it up. I agree, wholeheartedly, Bibi has been brilliant - against all odds - in attaining his war goals. God Bless him and Israel! ❤❤❤❤

also, Geneva convention speaks about forceful relocation of occupier’s population to occupied land. so even if it was occupation, no one forces people to settle there, and there’s nothing in convention that bans voluntary relocation.
on the other hand, Jordan, when it captured these lands in 1948, forcefully relocated Arabs after it ethnically cleansed these lands from the Jews who lived there. Jordan violated the convention. Israel didn’t.
Haaretz once again proves that its “experts” are just political activists who are either lying, or are incompetent.

I've heard once from a Dem state level politician about Bibi pre 2020 election effectively openly campaigning for Trump and why he's critical to Israel when a delegation of politicians visited Israel. So I think the hatred is much more personal in that regard. While I agree with taking the case to The American People, it's also that both Bibi and Congress understand this as a way to GOTV for Republicans in November since Israel is still popular among the general voters. I think the view from pro-Israel Dems that Bibi under Obama/Trump made Israel a Republican issue. The fact that for example Bibi's calls on Iran deal, ect may be correct, they don't agree with him and never will, so for them it's all perceived as Bibi helping Rs get elected.

First - just wanted to say how much I enjoy this program and your respective writings/analysis. I usually watch via Tablet and often want to comment so I decided to subscribe to TH-cam. I generally avoid using Google/Alphabet products because contrary to their original mission - there's a lot of evil in that organization.
That being said, you, along with JNS writers like Glick, Tobin, Phillips and Blum, Lee Smith and Tony B have the most sophisticated takes on what's going on.
I just finished watching Bibi's address and admit that I've been a fan of his for 45 years since his stint at the UN. There is no other world historical leader in his class. If we were a born US Citizen, I am sure he would be a strong candidate for the presidency. I also think Trump could win in Israel.
This was a masterclass that of course will drive the Bibi haters in the US and Israel crazy. Probably a score or more of standing ovations where he methodically laid out the case against Iran without of course implicating Biden and his apparatchiks in their ongoing appeasement. Through props at both Biden and Trump but did enumerate all the Donald accomplished and got to love the Abraham Alliance. All will go well in Mar a Lago on Friday.
The GOP is 100% behind Israel and if you watched the Convention, you heard and saw a lot of love. Read Walter Russel Mead in the WSJ this week and he implied that there was growing recognition that the Iranian Realignment was being questioned in the Administration. I simply don't believe it but would love your take next week if I get so lucky to have a response to my comment.
Here's another question, who in Israel is a potential next gen leader as Bibi will need to leave the stage at some point. Many of us would love your perspective.
Again, thanks for an incredibly stimulating weekly program. I often share and post links to my network.

Always look forward to your analysis. If Biden has been known to be "non compos mentis" for a year, who has been running the show? How has Biden conducted these "hour long phone calls" with Netanyahu that we have been told about in the news and how will the meeting with Netanyahu be meaningful or is it all fake news?

    6:43 that’s just wrong.
    Article 49 says:
Individual or mass forcible transfers […] from occupied territory to the territory of the Occupying Power or to that of any other country, occupied or not, are prohibited.
That is not what Israel is doing in Judea & Samaria. Jews are the indigenous people of Judea.

It is what the Israeli government did the Jews of Gush Katif. And it certainly is what the Jordanians did to the Jews of Judea and Samaria, and what the UK did to the Jews of Gaza, Hebron, and parts of Haifa and Jerusalem.
