Absolutely awesome! Thanks for simplifying a subject that a lot of people on here make so complicated. 👍

Great advice Chad. When I first got my Helix I thought it sounded terrible and then one day I turned it up and hallelujah! Awesome tone and feel! Thanks for the videos and tips. Very helpful.

Great video Chad! The only thing I would say differently is using a loudness meter would be better than say a peak meter or RMS meter. I think most DAWs have one. I usually use the Orban Loudness meter app if I am trying to match levels.
Thanks for always providing informative content! Cheers!

Vetta II had the loudness feature. It was such a good amp for that time. If mine had not begun to glitch out I would still have it.

thanks for the video, but I've always have problems whenever I play live the volume level on my preset is always uneven between clean (with reverb+delay) and distortion. tried the same method as mentioned in this video but don't find the spot. anyone can help me out?

There are a lot of choices with the Helix 🎸

More than just 'turning it up', the takeaway for me in this is not to write a preset at a low volume unless you always use it quietly.

congratulations on the video! I wanted to ask you this: The presets I download online have a much lower volume than those of my patches. Yet the output volume is the same 0.0 db. How does this happen?

Hi I'm using a headrush 112 but I'm finding one is quiter than the other, I use one in front and one behind, any ideas why please? ❤

I find the Global EQ can generally be a good option on this.

Chad, do you know why the Factory Presets vary so widely in volume? Some are what I consider normal, while others are at hearing damaging levels. I've had an HX Stomp for 2 years, and this has occurred on every Firmware, and Update, including 3.50.
I use Monitoring Headphones, and the first thing I have to do with every Update is normalize the volume of each Factory Preset using the "Channel Volume" Amp Parameter, which doesn't affect the actual tone of any Preset. Thanks

The only thing I can say about that is that I think various employees from Line 6 build the factory presets. Occasionally they'll have guest folks build factory presets I think.
My guess is that they simply don't have one person and one standard for setting output on factory presets. Just my guess though.
Maybe they should have to watch this video on employee training day LOL

@@ChadHuskey Good idea. 👍The Preset Tones sound great, and the 3.50 is fantastic, but the mismatched volumes should be addressed. Thank

Pardon the pun, but that's "sound" advice!😆 Our challenge is that the sound techs at our church always turn down the house volume of the guitars! So no matter at which volume I create my Helix Presets, much of the benefit/effect is negated by what the techs do.

Yeah but it’s good if you have a gig outdoors or have an amp with you

Chad any advice on best way to implement a loudness meter to hx edit , I down loaded orban lm but cant figure out how to get my hx edit and it connected , if I got helix native will it work well with floor unit helix as far as importing any presets a I make from one to other ( I'm much more of a.guitarist than a computer guy ).thanks for all your help

What you'll need to do is go into Orban and set the Helix as the audio source. That way when you play it will register the output from Helix. There's no way to do this directly with HX Edit, but it should be pretty simple to set this up in Orban. Hope this helps!

you are confusing output level and volume. Nor did you show how much compression was happening. Yes run your MONITORING system at the right level for setting presets....dont confuse this with the output level or an internal Chan vol or level setting of the HELIX.
