So really, the Doctor may not be the face of Babel, he was pretty much the one in control of everything. I'd like to imagine pre amnesia doctor is skilled in both combat and leadership but because he is a human, he can die from just a hit and he only has a gun and a knife as a weapon but he manages to overcome the impossible and defeated those deemed impossible to defeat.

The other being Priestess, the only one who happened to also know how to operate the Sarcophagus. Tho as far as I'm aware, her status is unknown, unlike the Doctor. But it is safe to say that, Doctor, unlike any normal Terran Race known, is able to use it without suffering the severe side effects that the terran races would upon using the Sarcophagus. As it would seem that he, nor anyone in his kind, had any sort of prior state to revert to like the Terran races do. It really is a freaky thing of sorts. Especially considering that the Doctor, and Priestess if she's still alive, are the last two of their kind remaining. And likely the only ones who know what happened to their own race too.
I think the most eerie thing about the Doctor and Priestess is they predate the Sankta-Sarkaz split, when the Sarkaz and Sankta were born, and evolved differently, and they predate the birth of the Leviathans, which are literal gods. I think the reason why Doctor has made so much progress with Oripathy research is because his species is responsible for the creation of Originium.
The assassin of terra's hope, the catalyst to all chaos, babel's downfall, and birth to Rhodes island, the first sinner, and the last one to bear such burden, here he stands aiding the demon queen, an imposed position, a gambit taken by the ghost, to go against his own nature is what his kind was used to be known for, and most importantly, the precursor of originium project. Ladies and gentlemen, after babel event on global, I believe we never were protagonists, let alone deserve the title or anything nearly remote as martyr, the curse of all evil resides within us, dormant, a sacrifice of the last saint who once whore the darkest crown, her gambit to appease the root of all evil, but let us not forget, "to advance from present to future, you first settle the past". What if the doctor doesn't have amnesia at all, he just pretends? During the passage of the story, many players, and even some operatives, wonder if they are doing the right thing by killing those they are supposed to help... this also confirms the fact that many who remember the doctor wan he was in Babel - speak extremely negatively about him (he puts goals above the lives of operatives, was rude to everyone, and he was hidden)

"Ghost of Babylon" he was named for his cold attitude towards the fate of the operatives, as he fought on the principle of "Victory at any cost." But there are also contraindications, which say that the doctor, being in Babylon, was kind enough. But still, we have the fact that he was involved in Teresa's "death"

Technically, he predates the Leviathan, the Abyssal Hunters, the Sarkaz, and the Sankta. He predates the modern religions of Arknights itself and is the only one who knows how Originium works, likely because his species is responsible for its creation.
I like to imagine a prequel game to Arknights, where we play as Pre-Amnesia Doctor. The game would be vastly different than the gacha tower defense and probably a paid title, but I would hope it would be a grand political strategy, similar to Hearts of Iron IV, Crusader Kings III or Europa Universalis IV. And in one of those playthroughs or routes, you would get to explore a variation where the Doctor Won. Alternatively it could be a VN, Lol.
