I love your 'moxie'! My almost semi organized sew room is a mess again. My daughter finally hung my Quilt of Valor presented to me over 10yrs ago over my cutting table!!! Big thank you to the person who donated it!!! It's beautiful and huge. I had to clear projects and move cabinets, sewing machine, basically everything to get to the wall but it was so worth it. Makes my heart burst with pride looking at it.
My daughter has been fixing our favorite winter foods this week. "Cheater" chili over rice, grilled cheese and tomato soup, curry porkchops with apples. I'm full, dumb and happy! Love and Peace to all of you ❤❤❤

Fun and informative video, as always! My favorite winter soup is vegetable beef made with a little bit of everything plus leftovers from the frig - just like Momma did. No recipe and no two pots are alike. Some fresh oatmeal bread warm from the breadmaker accompanies nicely. I totally get the “confidence” thing. I am similar. Gather the facts and resources and knowledge, forge ahead, and if I need to adjust or pivot I have every confidence I can. I am that way about everything. But with quilting if I can’t or don’t want to forge ahead I can recycle that “overhead.” Love your Husky and your clapper and your bright cheery confident attitude.

We're here in brrr cold OKC (east side), so I decided to keep warm, I would bake. Made some awesome, get this, carrot/zucchini/apple muffins with walnuts and raisins. Yum! Then, I put some chicken in the Dutch oven and made chicken & dumplings. Anything to keep the oven going and house warm. That, of course, was between sewing 😅. Stay warm and cozy Ami!

Love the new Husky cabinet. I purchased 3 Husky adjustable work benches to use as sewing desks. They have a crank to raise and lower the top and sturdy metal base on locking g wheels. They come in several lengths from 46-72 inches. I got mine on a black Friday sale for a steal. My grown son snagged one of the 72 inch ones to put in his room for his computers (he has several monitors). So I ended up with only 2. As for 10inch square storage ideas... if you order a couple of layer cakes from MSQC and they send them in a box that's just slightly bigger, you can cover the box with contact paper or wrapping paper or even fabric to make storage box--downside is it's not transparent.

For breakfast, I like steel cut oatmeal with fruit. I will put the oatmeal on, and then chop an apple or pear and stew it n butter and a little brown sugar. For apples, I add cinnamon and walnuts or pecans. For pears, I add ginger and almonds. Since the oatmeal cooks for about 25 minutes in a separate pan, and allows the fruit to get nice and soft. I throw everything together allowing the natural sweetness of the fruit to flavor the oatmeal, and I use way less sugar this way. Always warms me up on a cold day.

Michaels has the 12" x 12" Scrapbook Case by Simply Tidy™ on sale right now for $3.99 It's almost 3"high. I know it doesn't hold as much as the ones you have but the layer cakes fit in there well and I can pretty much get a queen size quilt pieces in it while I am working on it. Sometimes I have to use a second one for a project but not usually. I didn't look at all of the sizes that Michaels has but it looked like there might be other containers that are similar. I use these for all of my precuts.

Soup for sure is a a great cold weather food. My husband is a fantastic soup chef. My favorite of late is Tom Kha (a Thai coconut curry, we make ours with shrimp). He has been making his own seafood stock from crab leg shells and it is amazing. Tom Kha is also really good with chicken. As you know from my comment yesterday, I am still searching for a good 10” square storage solution. I think I may just going to stack them, sorted by color in a drawer and be done with it. I don’t really like the scrapbook paper holders. We’ll see how the drawer(s?) works longer term as the quantity of 10” squares grows.

My first idea for "I need a container of a specific size" would be to go to the 3D printed gridfinity system... But you need a 3D printer that has a base of over 25 cm available to you for a container that would fit 10" squares. And the big ones take skill to print neatly, not to mention a lot of time and filament. But you could, in theory, have a bigger bin with a baseplate in it, and then fit containers for 10", 5", etc. squares onto those. Most Gridfinity containers aren't hugely tall (unless you make them that way), but you could stack several on top of each other for sorting by color or project.

I like that the lids latch tightly but also come completely off, and they stack securely. The 6.2 Qt and 12.7 Qt use the same size lid, just the depth of the box is different. My 10 in. squares are stored in the 3 layer containers( lock together) walmart and dollar general sell near christmas with cardboard inserts i take out. There about 10 by 12 or 14, depending upon which store i got it in. I think they were sold for ornaments. I can store about 6 layer cakes in them in each layer. They even have a handle on top to carry. Could be used for projects too.

How about Homemade Chocolate Chili with corny cornbread…or maybe Ribilito, an italian vegetable and cannellini bean soup with crusty bread in the soup for thickener drizzled with lemon olive oil. Now back to cutting up those scraps or maybe sandwiching at least 3 of my tops and quilting a couple….but then there is all that Kaffe ready to piece.

I always plan on prepping my b8 ding early in the process…never happens! I just made a scrappy binding for my current project. I just discovered that an almost-empty roll of 2” painters’ tape (happened be on my sewing table at the time) makes a perfect solution for storing the binding. I use a double-pronged pin to secure at the end.
    Gina…👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 😂🤣😂
Tomato(Campbell’s) soup with a little spicy salsa and basil. buy the basil paste in a tube in my produce section. It’s amazing! Accompanied by a grilled old cheddar (Vermont, if I have it) & green onion grilled cheese sandwich on 12-grain bakery bread for me, please! Crispy bacon is a good addition. Yum! Yes, I’m very particular about my tomato soup and grilled cheese! 😁 II’m definitely going to have that today!
OR…another favourite is homemade butternut squash and pear soup (or apple, depending what I have) with ginger paste (also in tubes in produce) added when serving. I bake my butternut squash (whole-no cutting piercing) in my Ninja Foodi. The skin just peals off, and seeds scooped. No peeling and chopping that hard squash. Then I make the soup in my Foodi.
Looking forward to the next installment of the QAL-today- I hope, since it’s nowTuesday.

And can’t wait to see you use the red and white half squares.Just spent a few hours sewing scraps together to make yardage, ended up with 3 1/2 yards of fabric which is 24 inches wide. It’s really colourful and will be great for totes etc, and I feel good that I’ve not wasted them. My comfort meal is stew and dumplings, yummy .keep safe and busy.❤❤

Im finally moving into my new studio. Was going to do it at the first of the year, but the flu had other plans for me. I'm slowly moving things from this room or that room this closet or that closet to get it togethe, bu I'm stil trying to recover my energ, so like I said, I'm slowly getting it done. The process has made the house look a bit disheveled, so I'm trying not to get overwhelmed by the chaos and keep myself motivated since it will eventually be done and so worth it. As the polish say, hold your thumbs for me.
