      Thanks Florian! It’s been a hard slog to pump out a video every week 😅 but I’m gonna keep going and I hope to keep the good stuff coming!

    Great video. I’d love to see you do a full coolant flush so I can follow along with my own bike. Keep it up!

      There’s not much extra to it, just wash the system out with fresh water and then put it back together and fill it up 🤙🏼

    I added that plastic extension for the front fender. Massively reduces the amount of garbage kicked into the radiator.

      I have the high front fender. Knowing I was going on a long and remote off-road trip, I crafted a DIY solution to add a 10" mud flap cut out of a black duo-tang folder. It took some abuse on my trek, but even with a couple of short tears, it is still in place after 6300km...

    • @d.Cog420
      @d.Cog420 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FlorianWerner it would be cool to see what you did. I was thinking of getting a high fender but was worried about exposing the radiator. Was thinking about leaving the stock guard on as well as the high one but chopping it so it's the same shape and size as the black plastic guard underneath but could leave the plastic extension thing on. Paint it black too or it would look stupid. Might still look stupid but mocked it up in photoshop and it could work. What did you do?

      @@FlorianWerner I don't know why they turn new bikes out, especially "Scramblers" with crappy mudguards that don't do their job. Even if you never ride in the wet or venture off road you can still get stray stones or road debris thrown up.

    says radiator coolant change - but its not a change - just a top up? Interested in changing the coolant as its been in the bike 4+ years

    • @lifeofascrambler
      @lifeofascrambler  ปีที่แล้ว

      All you’ve gotta do to drop the coolant is undo that bottom hose clamp, drop the current coolant out, and then if you feel like it you can use a hose to wash the system through but it’s not a big deal if you don’t. Then top it up as shown.

    What muffler do you have installed on that Blue scrambler at the end of the video?

    • @lifeofascrambler

      I think you mean the slash cuts? They’re not mufflers per se, more just straight pipes with optional baffles inside them. I talked about them in my exhaust video so check that one out for more details!

    Hi! How is this different than what it says in the service manual? Checking and topping in the reservoir that is located down the skid plate (which is a PIA). Thanks and great channel!

    • @lifeofascrambler
      @lifeofascrambler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is mostly the same as the manual. The reservoir down at the bottom is actually an overflow, so when the radiator is heating up and there’s too much fluid it pushes the excess fluid into that lower chamber. when you top up or change your fluid you should be pushing all of the excess air out of the highest point in the system to make sure the fluid lasts longer and there is no air in the system.

    Another really cool video and nice one keeping them coming. Hey completely unrelated question but they have a bit of an Achilles heel regarding the bash plate. If you have a look under the bike it stops halfway along the sump leaving the oil filter completely exposed. If you go over a rock/tree/ledge and catch it you'll be fucked. If you look closely on the Mexican 100 vid they have extended it somehow to fix this. I haven't seen anything online about remedies and wondering if you had any thoughts? I'm thinking of getting a second OEM one and chopping it a bit then fitting it backwards. Could maybe somehow fix it with the centre stand bolt holes and overlap it with the original under the bike.

    • @lifeofascrambler
      @lifeofascrambler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very good point and I totally agree and also it’s a bit strange for them to protect the sump but not the oil filter which is much more likely to get pierced by a rock or something. I’m pretty sure there are upgraded versions but I haven’t checked to see if they cover the oil filter

      @@lifeofascrambler nah, at least nothing I can find anyway. When there's some time I'll have a go at fabbing something up with my limited skills and let you know how it goes. If you come across anything I'd love to know as I'm sure all scrambler riders that go off road would. Cheers.

    How do you drain the old coolant? Is there a drain plug or do you just remove a hose?

    • @lifeofascrambler
      @lifeofascrambler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah just remove that bottom hose and drain it 🤙🏼

  • @turaly0n

    can you do a video for a complete coolant change?

    • @lifeofascrambler
      @lifeofascrambler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only additional thing you need to do for a complete change is to remove that bottom pipe, let all the coolant out into a container and then flush with a hose, let us drain out then start where mine starts at topping up!

    • @turaly0n
      @turaly0n 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lifeofascrambler do you mean the bottom pipe you squeeze to force the air out?

    • @lifeofascrambler
      @lifeofascrambler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@turaly0n Yep that's the one! You basically wanna drain it from the lowest point of that pipe. Then you can flush it from top to bottom, and also gently put some water through the pipe which might help clear some stuff from the engine. Make sure its all kind of drained out, and then fit it all back up and fill coolant from the top.

      @@lifeofascramblerto anyone reading this, Triumph recommends you flushing the system with distilled water. Don't use a hose.
