I miss my grandma . Your videos are very comforting. Thank you
Indeed 🙏🏼. Watching Ms Diane in the kitchen is like a warm hug. Having lost so many precious loved ones in 2021, I’m enjoying this channel as means of “re-connecting “ with the women who nurtured me as a child ☺️
This is exactly why I watch her videos. She looks & talks like my grandmother who passed almost 10 years ago. The resemblance is uncanny. Her videos are like a warm blanket on a cold day.
@@tonyawhatley1932Awww that's an awesome compliment to this grandma❤
If all of our projects in life started with a stick of melted butter, how smoothly everything would work!
I agree with the lovely words here. God bless you and your family. We see you shine for Jesus.
Both of my grandmothers died when I was very young and I never got to know them. I imagine that this is what it is like to have a Southern grandmother. I love watching.
❤️Thanks for watching!!
You bring back memories of my foster mother with her southern mannerisms. She was such a blessing to me, being 57 now, her love shown me has helped me become the woman I am now. Thank you
That’s great!!
Learning to love is like learning French. If you don't learn it early on it's hard to get the trick of it later. ❤😊❤
I love the terms you use during the cooking process, like letting the ingredients get acquainted 😊
I wasn't even planning on cooking today 😅. Now, we'll be having hash brown casserole for lunch.
My grandparents are all in heaven, but watching MeMe's videos are like a big hug from them 🥰. Thank you!
Memories are precious!! : )
I agree totally! She is absolutely precious!!❤
Yes Amen, she reminds me of my Dad's Mom that we called Memaw. She lived in Pennsylvania all her life and retired frm Woolworth❤ miss those days and miss you Memaw, Rip 🙏
You made me hungry!
I have made Schwartz potatoes dish for years, but I made your version for guests last night and we loved it. Adding the onions and sour cream and cheese took it to another level ❤️👍
Sounds great!
It's 2024 now. I want to try this recipe. I have frozen hashbrowns and cream of mushroom soup and all the ingredients. Love this version!
🙂❤️
Your saying,” The days are long but the years are short” is so true! Well said Miss Meme! Another enjoyable and instructive cooking video. Thank you and Miss Caroline…I think she did the camera work. God bless you🙏💕👏🌷
Thank you for watching!
You are a delight and ɓless my life with your southern hospitality!!!! I received your cookbook in the mail today and can't wait to try your recipes!!! It is so well made and even spiral bound!!!
Thank you
P.S. I am from West Point Utah and we add buttered crushed corn flakes on top and call this " funeral potatoes" in Utah because this is served at most funeral luncheons.
I sure do love your videos!!! Keep Shining!!!
That sounds yummy!! Thanks for watching!
You inspire me to keep cooking. Thank you.Shine for Jesus.
Wow, thank you... keep on keeping on!
You remind me so much of my dear mom in many ways. You sound like her, cook like her, same hair color and style. Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes. I miss my mom so much but now I can watch your videos and smile
Happy to bring a smile to you! Thank you so much for watching and for the sweet comment!
My family has it at Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s so delicious. We use the cubed hash browns sometimes. Yours looks so delicious. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the good laugh & smile. Years ago I was a teller and I can almost hear someone asking that. .. I just bought sour cream so I can prepare this at supper tomorrow night. Now I have to decide which meat to thaw out and cook with it.
👍🏻😋🙂❤️
I’m Greek Orthodox 😂 that was the best true story I’ve ever heard 😂😂😂 by the way I’m new here and I love your channel! ❤
Welcome!
I love how you tell us how you are doing. You make us feel right at home. Thank you.
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching!!
Nice and easy dish. So many wonderful recipes. Thank You.
Denomination. Lol. Funny story. 😂 I was raised Pentecostal. Baptized in the Nazarene church as a baby. Then went on to serve in ministry for years in a non denominational church. I taught Sunday school to 4 th graders. Led 3 healing homes that housed wayward people who suffered from many different situations. Then was on the praise and worship team. Intercessory prayer team. Met many international pastors in my day. Kenneth Copeland and his wife. Jan and Paul Crouch and many more. You will probably remember back in the day Kathryn Kuhlman my mom took me to a Bible study with her, and I was just a little baby, just a toddler and she leaned down and said this is a child of God who has great plans for her life. God is upon this child and will be with this baby guiding her through her life. What an honor to have that prophecy at such a young age. I’m blessed. I’m grateful for God in my life. He’s taken me through so much and without him I wouldn’t have the mind for Christ that I do now. ❤
❤️
MeMe you are precious!! I’m getting your cookbook! You are the best cook, but more than that you are a beautiful example of Christ!! Thank you for sharing all these recipes and being a light of Jesus! Love you!❤
Thanks so much...Shine for Jesus
This Hashbrown Casserole recipe looks so delicious 😋 Ms. Diane.
You are a real gem and I wish I would have had a grandmother as wonderful as you! One of mine passed before I was born and the other was selfish and didn’t like kids. She lived an hour away and would cook occasionally when we were there for a visit and it would typically be good, but she focused on her self more than us grandkids and always bragged about the ones that lived 500 miles away that she never saw..... Yours are extremely blessed!
Wow, thank you🙂
Miss MeMe you remind me of my maternal grandmother. She taught me my love of cooking. She was a great southern cook and sio was my mother. I had a stool that I stood on and my grandmother would give me biscuit dough and I would play with it until is was black. Sha passed when I was 15 ancI never forgot the lessons learned by her side. Never change..you bring some sunshine every
time I hear your cheerful voice and I hope I shine for Jesus the way that you do.
You are so very kind. Thanks for sharing this.
What a great story about the gift certificate!! I laughed out loud. Meme, you are just so cute. Love your recipes and your sweet spirit.
we have laughed for years about it!!
I absolutely love hash brown casserole. I'm definitely gonna make it this weekend.Your little story about the gift card was very funny 😅😅😅. Thank you, ma'am ❤.
You do bring back so many memories of being in the kitchen with my Mother, my Memaw, my Grandmother and my Aunt Maggie. I loved watching them and listening to their stories. I'd love to be with one of them now ❤
Wonderful!😋🙂❤️🙏🏻
If you want to make this recipe even better, add more diced onion, cheddar cheese condensed soup, and 2 eggs. It will be almost identical to cracker barrel's hash brown casserole 👍🏻
Easy, all around side dish. I like it a lot
God bless you and your family.
Thank you so much😋🙂❤️
Oh my goodness! I made this with pepper Jack cheese instead of cheddar (cause that’s what I had).
It was fantastic because it had just a little kick to it. ❤ thank you Meme!!
Sounds great!
Blessings to you, MeMe! I love your kitchen decor! The little bunnies are just precious!
Thank you!!🙂
Dear Miss MeMe, Love your videos and thank you for inviting me into your kitchen. I see you're using Cream of Celery Soup. If anyone is paying attention, Cream of Celery Soup is proof that somebody up there likes us! It can be used it in any casserole, meat loaf, gravy or sauce.
My family wonders why meals taste so good. It's a magic secret ingredient. Thanks for using it in your casserole!
Love you Miss MeMe!
🤭yes it is.😋🙂❤️
I ordered your cook book and it just came in the post today! I was so excited it came so quickly. I so enjoy you so very much. You definitely remind me of my sweet grandmother with your cooking and personality. We were blessed to have her for many years…she was 96 when God called her home. Man could she cook! She taught me a lot. My family comes from Mississippi and Georgia. Moved to Texas when I was 2. Can’t wait for your second cook book Miss MeMe. Gonna make your pork chops and rice tomorrow! My hubby will be so happy.
Thank you for being you!!💖
Yay! Welcome to my kitchen and thank you for your order. You will love the pork chops! ❤️

I have added cubed ham in it. Very good. 🇨🇦❤
You are one an amazing woman. I always enjoy watching your videos. May God bless you and keep you safe and healthy where ever you go
Yes ma'am...that looks mighty tasty❣️
Thank you 😋
I learned how to make this in a Mennonite service mission program at 19. We used the frozen potatoes Obrien with diced peppers and onions in it and added cream of mushroom sour cream cheddar and a little salt and garlic powder delicious!
Sounds great!
I love it every time you take something out of the oven using a tea towel. Reminds me of my grandmother and Julia Child. Love your videos.
Yes! Thank you!👍🏻🙂❤️
Sprinkled some fresh chives and parsley over after baking it. Yum!
My husband likes this for breakfasts. Thank you for sharing!
I love your stories! Thanks for sharing them. 💜
You are so welcome!🙂
You remind me so much of my Meemaw...she's the one who taught my to cook. And that's what my profession is today.
Thank You for sharing your wonderful recipes and your wisdom ❤
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching!
I love this casserole! I add more onion and cheese with Diced Ham and onion powder for extra flavor and a couple eggs. I let mine brown more on top. The 8 minutes you had left would probably browned it more. I always add salt to any recipe if it doesn't call for it even if there's salt in the indredients. I don't like bland foods. This is a great recipe to add whatever your liking is. Thank you Miss Meme... This made me hungry! Maybe tomorrow I'll make it for Sunday Dinner! I'm having Fried chicken so this will be perfect! 🙏🙏❤❤
Me.e you are great a like your recipes hashbrowns casserole..yummy❤❤😊😊
My mom used to make this for me growing up, i still ask for it every thabksgiving and Christmas dinner! She always puts nonsweet cornflakes and butter on top for a delicious crunch!

I can't wait to start making your recipes. I really enjoy watching you make your recipes!
We like hash brown casserole for breakfast. Very good
Thank you for sharing Diane. I’ve never made one but it would be a great addition this holiday season.God bless you and yours.❤️✝️🙏
Thank you! You too!
I make this w buttered ritz on top. A little garlic powder & salt in the mixture. You’re right, it’s so good
I love your videos!!! Thank you for sharing your recipes and your stories!! 💜💜💜
You are just the sweetest thing, MeMe! I just love your videos so much. Thank you and Caroline for all your hard work. PS: I downloaded your cookbook yesterday.
Oh thank you!
Here in Australia we would call that a potato bake.
I do love your accent 😍
Oh thank you!
Wisconsin potluck and holiday staple everyone loves🌟 Yummy recipe
I have made these potatoes quite a few times. We always called them funeral potatoes. Sometimes we used the hash brown round potatoes instead of the shredded. I prefer the shredded sprouts. These are one of my favorites.
Oh yes!! So good.😋🙂
That story was so funny!! Cute! Id probably have been like your daughter!! Lol. I've been trying to find a casserole recipe for several years that had been brought to my sister-in-law's funeral. It was so good, rich and creamy. But it didn't seem to be hash browns, certainly not chunky. I've never had one since, nor before.
There's one my Daughter in law makes that called Funeral Potatoes! Its made with sour cream! Almost the same blend as this one but she slices potatoes in rounds and uses sour cream, cream cheese, a can of creamed of mushroom or cream of celery soup! She tops it with Cheese of whatever she has or crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter mixed in for a topping! Its made different ways! Its a different taste but Oh so good! Funeral Potatoes is the name I believe you're looking for tho. Its mostly made to carry to a family that lost a loved one! Look it up. I'm sure its out there. She got the recipe from her Aunt who had made it for a death in her family! I hope this helps you! If I get the recipe, I'll put it on here for you! 🙏❤😁
Thanks for another great video! You are appreciated!
Love your recipes and your sweet personality. Thanks for posting this!
You are so welcome!🙂
Thank you I absolutely love this, I especially love it dosen't have cornflakes on top, the next day to reheat they are soft and not good so Thank you, love all your recipes ❤️
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching, and please subscribe.🙂
I love this! I do a version of this here up north. We get cold up here and I wanted this to be more then a side so I started adding cooked and shredded chicken and crumbled bacon into it and its amazing comfort food for cold nights.
Sounds great!
I don’t cook. I love your videos because my Mamaw was from North Carolina originally. Your lovely voice and demeanor remind me of her, she is so missed. Thank you for the comfort you bring ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are so welcome! Happy that I can stir sweet memories for you!
I love these potatoes, I make them for Christmas Eve buffet everyone loves them, I may add that stick of melted butter next time and I bet they're even better...cuz everything's better with butter : )
I LOVE Buttah!
I love your videos 😊 thank you for making such great food. May God always bless you
Thank you so much
Meme I’m going to try this omg I’m going to gain weight with all these wonderful recipes, thank you for taking time to share this video, I just love you
Hope you enjoy
I have seen this called "Funeral Potatoes," because it is an easy dish to make and take to a bereaved family. Thanks for showing your version!
MeMe, I love your channel and want to say Thank You very much! Can you actually teach me how you keep your counters, stove top and oven spotless? I wipe and clean as I go but I just can not get shiny clean every meal. Smiles, Grins, Giggles and Laughs
I will try to mention in a future video! : )
Have always loved this dish.
This is a great recipe. Baking it the extra 8 minutes would have browned it on top. Thank you for sharing ❤.
This casserole is always a hit, and MeMe's looks amazing. I cover mine with buttered cornflake crumbs -- try them instead of bread crumbs. You'll love them.
Sounds great!
I love how you say Sticka Butter😂, it's just so cute 😉 and when you mix stuff up you say so they can get acquitted with one another.
Love your recipe videos and I always Shine for Jesus ❤🙏❤️
😁🙂❤️🙏🏻
Your casserole looks delicious!! I will be making this one for sure!!
Hope you enjoy
I make a version of this exact recipe where the hash brown mixture is layered on top of ground beef and small pieces of broccoli.. It’s one of my favorite casseroles to make. We never have leftovers!
Sounds great!
I have a scalloped potato recipe I make that calls for a can of cream of mushroom soup and your choice of American or cheddar cheese plus a soup can of milk. One time I made it and thought it needed no additional salt as the soup and cheese already had it in their ingredients. Too bland; It definitely needed that tad of salt to make it super good. 😋
This is an awesome recipe… been really enjoying watching you Meme… I make this with the exception of I add a dry ranch mix packet… doesn’t matter whether its store brand or ranch brand… it jus add the perfect seasoning … again thank you sooo much for sharing your recipes… ima continue watching! Lol
P.S. keep shining for JESUS! 💕
Thanks for watching!
Just found your TH-cam page. Thank you for the great recipes!!!! I will have to make this one, and will be checking out your other videos!!!! Thank You!!!!
Welcome to my kitchen!! Thank you for watching!
Love this casserole, I add cream cheese, broccoli, and meat to mine. Tonight I'm using smoked sausage, but have also used chicken or ham
When I moved to Arkoma, OK, I saw that “Bunnies Live or Dressed” didn’t mean dressed in Doll Clothes”.😅
Looks delicious!! Thank you!! Loved from Debbie and Dexter-Dog my sweet tiny rescued Chihuahua companion living a quiet crafty life in southern California.🙋🐾🙏🙏🐝🏝️✝️✝️❤️❤️😄🇺🇸🐤😁😁🏠
Thank you for watching!
I make that exact casserole but I use the cubed hash browns and definitely thaw them out completely.
Never had a grandmother yet if I did hope she'd be like you
🙂
I make this along with an egg casserole for Christmas morning. I always put it together the night before and pop in the oven in the morning. I thaw the hashbrowns first
Sounds great!😋
Watching this video now and didn't hear if you said the bag of hashbrowns were frozen or fresh. I have found them in Simply Potatoes and also frozen so wanted to check. You look so pretty in pink and as always, love watching and following you. The heat is on down here in Jacksonville as well as the afternoon rains. Stay cool!
I used frozen. : ) Stay Cool.
Another easy recipe. Must try. Blessings
Mmmm 😋 I Love Hash Browns. I will definitely be making this 👩🍳😋
You look So pretty in that color
You are kind! Thank you!
I just found your channel the other day. I love your video's. Your carrot cake was devine.
Thanks so much! 😊 Welcome to my channel.
❤ You are just wonderful! Loved the funny story 😅
Thank you! 😃 Please subscribe.
I have the same utensil that you use with the onions. I have had it for over 50 years. I love it! By the way, I love this casserole to I have made it for 40 years
It's so good!😋
You must have been hungry, MeMe - I would have let it stay in the oven until it was well-browned. 8 minutes would have been good. I'll bet if you had browned it, you wouldn't have missed the salt because of the extra flavour. Love the videos!
Love your stories, Mrs. Leary!
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!!
Myother in law always made these at Easter. For an added taste she also put crushed sour cream and onion chips on top. Mine never turned out as good as hers.
This would be wonderful in a muffin pan
This American Grandmother just adores Edo and Beatrice. I believe they are both "in love with" and "deeply love" each other and are a happy little family with Wolfie and Sienna. Beatrice chose well.
Love you and love trying your recipes
Thanks for watching!!
Plenty of butter, sour cream and cheese. I can hear my arteries slamming shut even now. 🤣
Oh my🤣😋
I'm catholic from chgo lived in Dolton.ill now in corbin.ky acits 30 yrs😊😊😊❤❤
I Love your stories. The gift certificate story was priceless! We all know if you are Southern, you will be a good story teller. I think I'd like my casserole a bit crunchier on the top. I would have left it in the extra 8 minutes. I also think it would be delicious if you added diced ham into it. But that is just my personal taste, which is not for everyone. Enjoy the day!
Ham would be yummy!
Denomination! 😂😂 I just love you, my cookbook is arriving this week! I'm so excited!!
Hope you like it!
❤ cute gift certificate story. I’m Baptist T❤️❤️ 🙏🏻
Yummy my favorite love potatoes any time😊😊
Yummy! Thank you, I'm making this today!!
Hope you enjoy
I love the story about your daughter. When I moved to SC, someone in the grocery store asked me if I needed a buggy. A buggy??? I didn’t have a baby with me or a horse to go with a buggy. I was so lost until someone brought me a cart to use. 😮 My husband asked me to “cut on the light”. I looked at him like a deer in the head lights until I realized he wanted me to “turn the light on” 😂. BTW, We also “cut off the lights” around here. He was confused when I referred to my “purse” instead of my handbag. And I had NO idea what he meant when he told me to “mash the button” or “mash the brake”… ohhhh, you mean “push” it. I experienced culture shock when couldn’t understand what words meant in some of the most basic conversations. But worst yet, was not understanding the pronunciation of words or being understood when I spoke “Northerner” English. At work, at home, at church or anyplace else, my children and I often had to spell words back and forth with people in order to understand. Now my daughters can pull off the best southern accent without thought. They are bilingual 😂
New subby.I absolutely love your recipes.Thank you for sharing😊
Welcome to my kitchen!! ❤️
YES Ma'am! I Love to hear you say BUTTAH' and not butter with your adorable Georgian accent! 😘❤ BTW I so agree with the comment beneath my comment here, your videos are so comforting!
😊 thank you!! Actually I am from SC. : ) Thanks for watching!
