  • Trip to One of U.S National Parks featuring bears, including grizzlies, and glaciers which numbers have dwindled. The trip there took more than about 8 hours (oneway) from Seattle, but worth the time there. We enjoyed there.
Going to Sun road, Glacier national park from Seattle
    July 2022
    4 day road trip plan
Day 1: Seattle to Big Fork
Day 2: Going to Sun road from West Glacier entrance
Day 3: Going to Sun road from East Glacier(St.Mary) entrance
Day 4: West Glacier to Seattle
    Some Planning Tips:
    1. You need to reserve vehicle pass in March first week. Please visit recreation.gov site for going to sun road vehicle passes. You can also take a train (Amtrak) to West Glacier and East Glacier stations. From the stations, you have good shuttle options.
    2. You need to reserve your camp ground and/or hotel/airbnb/vrbo accommodations In January when they open the slots. We were lucky to get a camp ground.
    3. The road to West Glacier is all good and you can expect less traffic after crossing Spokane.
    4. In the park, there are no or less restaurants. So please pack your lunch.
    5. Plan for time for couple of trails. We did Avlance lake trail and Sun view which were medium on length and effort. Both offered great views.
    6. Bear Spray is suggested if you are camping. We didn't encounter any. We saw many deers though.
    7. Due to the vehicle passes, there is less traffic inside the park. So you can park your RV at Apgar and take a bike. Overall, its a 20 mile road.
    8. Visit the east entrance, St Mary, and Two medicines lake area. Its beautiful.
