My van get gets 21-23 Mpg and it’s about $600 round trip but that includes the driving while we’re there for a few days. My big truck is a diesel and it’s $1000 round trip with no extra driving dec/23 prices
@@TheRealBlokBoiOso gas is a dollar cheaper per gallon but I’d go $800. Best way is to check the miles to your destination on “maps” or “google maps”, double it and divide by 16 to give you your gallons you’ll use. I always save for 10% or around 15-20 gallons more for a trip in case of something crazy. Sat 9 hours once for an accident and literally 8 hours later had 2 more accidents to at ate 3 more hours. 18 hour trip turned into 30. Burned half a tank just to keep warm
Ironically we moved to Florida 2 years ago. House prices are high and can be hectic with traffic but best decision to move out of Illinois. I was able to find all my pew pews from a boating accident they were lost in…lol
I just went again in March and construction has already started. On the way back we took the route over to Alabama and then up. Your GPS should show it. It’s 2 hours more but with construction and wrecks on interstate through Kentucky,Tennessee, Georgia...it’s actually faster.
@@theswartzfam1003 that’s the best time and shouldn’t be a problem them on time. I assumed you were day driving like most. I mostly drive at night but last couple trips have been in the day and traffic is a nightmare. Atlanta is beautiful when you can cruise through at nighttime.
Do you go through the toll in FL? Wanted to know if they still take physical money and roughly how much it was. Just looked up a toll calculator and looks like it will be $4 1 way.
By GPS gives me the option to go around the tollways. I just usually go around them. Our last trip we did take the tolls multiple times since we bounced around between Tampa, Orlando, and Sarasota. Some are taking money and a couple were not. The ones not taking cash had signs to pay toll online by looking up your license plate. I think we did around $8 but again we try to navigate around them.
I agree, used an untested camera here and didn’t get the correct speed. Live and learn. Also not easy to choose how a 15 hour drive gets condensed. I’m trying to figure it all out.
@@BugmanVlogs yeah I'm going there from Indiana and will make one myself but was excited to see you are the only one on TH-cam that made the trip and filmed it
How much do u think u spent in gas?? I’m planning a trip and would like to knoe

Moved to Illinois from Florida 20 years ago. Worst mistake of my life! I hate this sh%*hole of a state. Can't wait to move back to FL next year.

@@BugmanVlogs we are driving at night so hopefully traffic wise we will be good, just have to slow in the zones.

@@BugmanVlogs yes the traffic is one reason we are driving late. Also we have 2 young boys so they can sleep through the night while we drive.
