Lepakshi Temple, located in the village of Lepakshi in Andhra Pradesh, India, is a significant Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Veerabhadra, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Built in the 16th century during the Vijayanagara Empire, the temple is known for its stunning architecture and intricate sculptures.
The temple features beautiful frescoes, including some of the finest examples of Vijayanagara art, and a large monolithic Nandi (bull statue) nearby. One of the temple’s most notable features is the "hanging pillar," which is slightly lifted off the ground, a marvel of ancient engineering. Lepakshi Temple is also famous for its depiction of the epic Ramayana and Mahabharata through its murals. The temple attracts devotees and art enthusiasts alike for its religious and historical significance.
