When you say reduced latency is for reduced buffer getting frames above 240 does it matter if you have your frames capped?
Kinda crazy that screen shake is even on by default considering how much it throws off your aim. Such a huge improvement turning it off.
It reminds me of Rocket league when it causes the screen to shake every time you hit the ball

For video section, don't forget to use your native resolution and highest refresh rate. Not just the highest resolution that it goes.
Make sure you aren't using any super resolution or scaling settings in your GPU driver.
Also navigate to your game executable and disable "Fullscreen optimizations" to ensure that there's no added delay from the DWM/Exclusive switching that Windows implemented.
IMO, don't bother with dynamic scale unless you're on a low end PC, much preferable to lower your settings and or reduce the resolution to a static value. IE if you're at 2560x1440p then use 75% to be 1080p if desired. Nvidia Reflex has no effect if you have your game capped to a frame rate that leaves some GPU resources available. (so AMD/Intel users do not need to worry)
If you have a high amount of VRAM (4GB+) use high textures with 16x Aniso.
Using ultra model quality also tends to be fine.
Leave shadows on Low, but everything else can be off.
Mouse sensitivity: There is a measurable benefit to mouse responsiveness up to 3200 DPI (as long as your mouse sensor natively supports it)
See battlenonsense's Razer 8K delay analysis for an example of such. To use 3200 DPI instead of 800, just use 1/4 of the in game sensitivity suggested.
shadows really should be on high, otherwise you lose out on worthwhile in-game info as you can't see what enemy players are doing without actually seeing the enemy player.

@@truckdriver8848 Yes, 1 instead of 4 or .25 instead of 1 and etc. If it's 1600 dpi instead then you go by half, and so on. Basically just wanted to mention that as now we have reviewers with proper equipment we have data to show higher DPI is good!

I disagree with some of your video settings. The dynamic render scaling should be set to a fixed value because your input latency would change leading to inconsistency in a competitive setting. Also, you can have the texture quality set to higher than low because it will help the game look slightly better with little to no performance cost if you have a gpu with a moderate amount of vram. Lastly, the FXAA essentially only blurs the image and isn't worth being on at all at that point because it makes outlines slightly fuzzier. Instead, SMAA low is a far better option. Great video though!

About V-Sync and AMD Cards
If you have an AMD Card and using freesync turn v-sync on (in Game and in Drivers) you will have less input lag and a more smooth experience overall. AMD Cards are kinda odd with v-sync + freesync (also cap fps 3 under your max refresh rate)
Without freesync go for highest stable FPS possible
In the software I have it set to deactivated unless the application specified it and activated it in the game, without that I suffer from Tearing in practically any game.
Edit: With V-Sync I assume you mean the normal one and not the Enhanced Sync, right? I said that because the option description says it causes less input lag, but in my case it causes frame drops in the game (sometimes), and the fluidity is lower overall.

3:45 is wrong, enabled + boost will take away some frames for very insignificant input lag decrease. just enabled should not have any impact on your frames.
I've been having issues were my game freezes when I get into team fights I have a 8gb of ram I can play the game the random freezes are annoying any way I can fix this

I switched from fullscreen to borderless bc of screen tearing, my average pc latency was around 28ms and after this i switched it back and tested it was around 9ms. Fullscreen definitely ftw

I can play the game normally, but sometimes it completely freezes and kicks me out. It says something about my rendering device has lost connection, application closing (?) I don't know how to fix it, the game is fine tho but in few of them that happens

I have a powerful graphics card and i want my game to look nice, but i dont want anything interrupting me like a bright sun or reflections. What settings should i turn to low or off in that sense?
Prob turn everything to low and keep textures on high. Ow doesn’t use allot of vram so it wont effect fps and particles won’t clutter the screen
Important for render scale: Outlines for players are actually thicker the lower you go from 100% which you can not see from this comparison picture as there were no players. Yes it looks hard to play on that picture but really its quite good and you can see enemies quite well. Not only when you have bad PC but also many pros use lower render scale like Asking used 50% even i remember. They do it in effort to keep consistant 400 fps and also thicker outline for some. I have just about constant 240 fps and I need to see a bit sharper long range so i keep 100% render scale as I almost one trick widow.

Borderless works fine if you force V-sync off in the Nvidia Control Panel, tested in a live game and if you do that FPS is uncapped and input lag (according to overwatch shift+n menu) is within .2ms of fullscreen.
The in game performance metrics can't really measure anything but simtime and network statistics. The main issue is DWM and that's why "Disable Fullscreen Optimizations" helps in fullscreen mode.
that graph isnt measuring total system input latency. its only measuring the simulation latency of the game. That's a tiny element of the total chain, and desktop DWM buffering wouldnt affect the sim number. Input lag would be higher, but it wouldnt show up in that number

Then try the game with 'Fullscreen optimizations' disabled.
borderless does not work fine as when the game is a window the render frames have to go through the window manager before they reach your gpu, unlike in fullscreen + reflex where the dx kernel sends it straight to your gpu.
also if you have fullscreen optimizations enabled in windows it does not matter if you are borderless or not.
edit: above only applies if you have some overlays drawing above the game's window as Solo stated below (discord won't cause any issues but some programs like CrosshairX which draws on the xbox overlay will)

@@duxeyo Full screen optimizations works as fast as exclusive full screen. So long as there is nothing rendering on top of the game screen from the dwm. Meaning it's still measurably faster than borderless, even with optimizations on. People get confused about how it works thinking that FSO = borderless, but its not that simple. The presentation model for FSO is using a flip model, so it's equally as fast as exclusive fullscreen (full screen optimizations off) if not faster in some cases.

that's because of fullscreen, you have to change the settings so its not fullscreen

@@notshadyshad9286 That's the refresh rate yeah, if you leave the "frame rate cap" on "Automatic" it just caps to the refresh rate.
I have bad lag spikes when I stand still I get around 200 fps but then I slightly move or someone does something I lag and or get 0-2 fps for like 30 seconds

I can't use full screen cause the game freezes and crashes. If I use full screen then I can't close the game and I have to restart the pc. I don't think it's a performance problem, I have a 1050ti. It's so frustrating
Apparently there is a bug where controller settings are affecting K&M so would be best to bring Aim Smoothing in Controller Advanced down to 0.

Hello I think i need help idk if it is a glitch but i think so. I play on a xbox series s and I have 120hz but when I play ow2 it works fine in like 2hours and it is dropping to like 70 - 90fps and I play on framerate mode. And when I restart it works fine again and it does the exact same is this a glitch?

@@LeNgocZ well, if it is a temperature issue there isn’t too much you can do. Try and ensure that your console isn’t in an enclosed/encased cabinet and that there is proper ability for heat to vent. Aside from that, restarting would be your only option as it enables the components to cool while not under load

My game is capped at 60 fps although i have a 144 hz monitor. I have raised the cap to 144 hz it doesn't change anything. Strangely this only applies, if my laptop is plugged in. Has any of u any ideas?
You might accidentally have a power plan saved to switch to eco friendly when plugged in, might explain it. Easily changed

If it's blurry it's most likely your resolution. I had this weird issue where it wasn't detecting my correct monitor
i play on Console (xbox serie X), theres something weird i found, i dont know if its only on console or whatever maybe my fault but every level change i did 0-100 I CANT STILL SEE THE RESPAWN ICON!!! i can see the waypoint but not respawn icon!!! im not kidding loll and theres no way in that game to turn it off except 0-100! then why i cant see it!! it could be realy usefull in new map when i need to regroup... above all the push mode!
I think that there is something wrong with overwatch on my pc. So my pc specs are: Intel core i-5 10300H, Gtx 1650 and 8 gb of ram. In games like valorant or minecraft I easily get 200 fps constantly but I just downloaded overwatch today and I am literally getting 3-10 fps in the menu/loading screens. Also, whenever I put my game into full screen, it moves the game over to my laptop screen (I have an external monitor set as my main display and laptop as my secondary) So i'm not really sure what to do, if anyone has any ideas please let me know!

there is no motion blur in overwatch so theres no setting to turn it on or off
Is it true that OW2 has issues with GTX 1050Ti? No lag or stuttering but it just suddenly freezes and you have to relaunch the game making it unplayable.

@@user-zi9xl8fp5w I doubt it's the graphics settings on overwatch. I had an issue at first with the resolution not switching correctly.
It fixed once I set my graphics card settings back to default. I also removed the Xbox game overlay on my PC. Which might have been the main problem.
If it continues to crash the game, check to make sure you have enough memory to not let your game bottle neck. Usually 12+ will be enough but I find that if you have browsers and other stuff running in the back. You need 16.
Also does help if you set your games you want to run on high priority, so your PC makes sure to make it a priority.
Microsoft does have game mode settings for this now, so make sure it's switched on.
