Specimen Barbel Fishing on the River Ribble - Double Figure Barbel

In this fantastic river session we manage to bank another double figure barbel from a high but dropping River Ribble. I only had three barbel out of that river it’s very hard river I didn’t get my first one until after 5 years atleast and still haven’t got a double but fair play to you

Yeah can be very challenging I agree, I used to try very unsuccesfully in years gone by but only just started figuring them out, I do think it's been mainly luck that they've been doubles though to be fait, tight lines :)

Hi Luke, I live up the road to that stretch and only fished it once for a few hours.. I really should try it more often, had no idea there were doubles to be had from that stretch.. quick question, are you jsut using single hookbaits? or were you feeding any ground bait? f so how were you doing it? Might see you down there at some point!!

Yeah there's a few doubles to be had mate but I have to say I've put in 3 or 4 blanks this last month at this spot whereas other spots have atleast yielded some chub so I'd maybe consider other areas until the water rises abit but we are getting some rain now :) As for the bait on this session I literally just used hookbaits however I now have atleast one rod on a feeder which i fill up with pellets and groundbait each cast :)

Sorry for the late reply, you just park at the tickle trout petrol station carpark and the guy in the petrol station gives you a ticket and takes your registration so you don't get a parking ticket :)

Behind the petrol station mate, you give your reg to the petrol station guy and then you're cleared for 24 hours there
