Seriously this series should be nominated for a Daytime Emmy award and win. i literally just found this channel yesterday and I've watched every episode to this point. I'm hooked!
Epic. First the chainsaw, then the cherry picker, then the scaffold and a supporting role by the digger. Your dad and Sean's smiles say it all. Hooray for Mick, Sean, Billy and Michael.
Ok, so, I’ve already seen the new stairs installed, insulation and upstairs walls go up, but watching this had me audibly gasping and thinking “is that wall going to cave in?!?” The drama! Kudos to the whole team that made this happen. My heart is still pounding… Also, your dad never ceases to amaze me with his dexterity and strength.
It’s so refreshing to see a family come together in a healthy way. Everyone treating each other with respect and working together to achieve something positive. Wow.
These times you are spending with your dad will be with you forever. You are very blessed to have him so healthy and able at his age and you will never, ever regret spending time with those you love. Enjoy them!
Absolutely brilliant and what teamwork. You are one lucky chap Michael to have such help. Everyone so competent in the job that had to do. A beautiful beam that will add such character to your future home. Fantastic.
It seemed like forever waiting for this story to come. I don't think I breathed once the whole time- well done guys that was precision workmanship. Onward and upward now Michael in leaps and bounds !!!
Few ppl think of the minds, the labor and the man hours that went into building our treasures that last centuries and millennia. Thank you so much for bringing us along on the restoration! That’s a mighty proud piece of work. Cuppa tea!
I never would have imagined I would be so entertained by a 20 minute video of a wooden beam. Congrats on accomplishing another step towards a habitable cottage 🥂

What suspense! Scaffolding waving in the breeze. Debris flying. Billy flying. Sean teetering at great heights. Mr. P. manning the digger as gingerly as a maid delivering a basket of fresh eggs, cracking nary a one. An incredible feat worthy of a Rube Goldberg construct, except this engineering accomplishment is real. If there were an Emmy Award for TH-cam the Doing It Ourselves team would win, hands down.
Two experienced tradesmen which know how to do construction safely. Brilliantly done. Teamwork at its best with good communication. Going like a dream. I am sure Michael and Billy are bless with their father and Shaun aid around the Chateau and buildings. Restoration will be amazing.👌
Oh my gosh, I was on pins and needles as it was going in. Wow, well done guys. I salute you all. This is better then any show on TV. Wow. Take care and God bless you all.

I love the soundtrack! This is riveting stuff! You are all invested in seeing this cottage restored, as are we, the audience. This is very exciting to watch....who knew?
Who’d have thought replacing a wooden beam would be so interesting! Have to say, Michael, your choice of music made it hilarious! Glad to see it’s coming together now.
Oh my goodness! I was so nervous watching this video! I was worried something would go drastically wrong and the walls would collapse and the beam fall down!! Thank goodness Michael has two skilled craftsmen to do this job. Billy is not too shabby with the cherry picker either! Phew, I need a glass of wine after watching that!🤦♀️🤣🍷
Men with skills! Men with machines! Men with tools! It’s is so interesting to see how these buildings are constructed, and reassuring to know that there are still people who know how to do all of this work👏👏
Ok I’m thinking, whose more excited about this beam going in, them or us? Let’s face it we would all, at this point love to be there helping in this project. Then it would be all our project and dare I say a better use of our time than staying home. Thanks gentlemen once again for the distraction. Bloody exciting.....
Whew....I was very tense watching the beam going into the wall but I think you will love your cottage even more knowing all the work that went into it, it's going to be a completely built house. Well done!! Dad and Sean are very comfortable in front of a camera. Time for a cup of tea!!!

Michael, your dad is so handy and talented. He has the best retirement any man could hope to have. Give him a hug for me. I lost my dad 5 years ago and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss him.
I DO SO agree with Kim!!! You guys are AMAZING-all of you! This is what cooperation and team work that actually accomplishes something looks like. Persistence, patience, skill, knowledge, but above all HUMOR is what makes it all work!!! Kudos!!!!!
