Here's What To Do In TALLINN, ESTONIA 🏰 (our Airbnb has a sauna!)

  • We're not gonna lie...Tallinn in November is pretty cold! But that didn't stop us from discovering what to do in Tallinn, Estonia. Luckily, our Airbnb has a sauna so we have a great way of warming up after a long day of exploring :)
    We started our day by grabbing pastries from the oldest cafe in all of Tallinn. After that, we made our way up to a view point to see Tallinn from above. After exploring Old Town, it was time to try a beer from one of Tallinn's many great breweries.
    Come along with us and we'll show you exactly what to do in Tallinn, Estonia!
    Thanks so much for watching! Don’t forget to like and subscribe :)

    I really hope you didn't just go to the Old town in Tallinn, but also other places like Kalamaja, Telliskivi, Rotermanni, Kadriorg. Old Town is beautiful but there are much more to see in Tallinn. I'd also like to mention that Estonia is considered to be Northern Europe country (you mentioned in your video that it's Eastern Europe, which is part true but we'd like to be noticed as Northern).

      "The United Nations has classified Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania as Northern European countries instead of Eastern European.* According to the United Nations, Northern European countries are Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom"
      I think people generally label the Baltics Eastern Europe because we fell under the soviet ocupation and these commies really tried making it look like "Easter Europe", but yeah officially its Northern Europe

    • @TimmmTim
      @TimmmTim 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean, guys, it is at least both east and north. Like, Estonia has the easternmost city of the EU. And usually by "north" people imagine Sweden, Norway, Iceland much more often. Not saying you are wrong, but there are strong reasons why people perceive you as East.

      Loved your country! Visited 2 weeks ago. I visited Kadriorg (loved it!), Rotermanni also nice but my favourite place was the Balti Jaam Turg believe it or not, because I like to experience a city from the perspective of a local. My favourite city in Estonia was Tartu though, old and new feels a bit more integrated. Lahemaa NP was fantastic - spotted both a bear and a lynx. What a gem of a place.

    Northern European winters are really cold for foreigners. I'm local and seeing you without a scarf made me cold 🙂 By the way Finland is more Eastern than Estonia and we both are Finnic nations. Tallinn's Old Town is actually built in German style. The Nevsky Cathedral is frowned upon by Estonians, it's a long story but basically it's because of forced Russification during the time when Finland, Estonia, Latvia etc were under Russian Empire.

    • @TimmmTim

You can also drink coffee/tea and eat pastries there as well as order some more fulfilling meals and amazing desserts. There is also a little marzipan museum linked with this cafe and if you're lucky, you can see how they handpaint the marzipans, read the history and ask questions as well. Also you can buy there little hand-painted marzipan figurines and other candies to go if you'd like. I worked in this cafe for two summers and it was an amazing experience, there are always lot's of tourists but also locals who love to visit this little cafe/shop 🤗

    This is Tallinn's old town on a budget. Tallinn as a city has many things to offer and the medieval old town is a tiny part of it. Also, if we rec old town churches to visit I'd skip the Nevsky ("newer" church from 1900) and go to St. Olaf's Church (from 13th century, was believed to be the worlds tallest building in the 15th century) or St. Nicholas Church as another option (from 13th century, it's a museum and contains late gothic and northern renaissance works of art, most famously Danse Macabre painting) or St. Mary's Cathedral (oldest church in Estonia, 1240 has many medieval goats of arms, baroque pulpit and tombstones). All these churches are from a walking distance.
