So I’ve already started traiting my karnix sword with heavy attck w/o any blessing transfers. It’s lvl 9 with tier 2 heavy attack. I’m no longer able to do this method am I? Did I brick my progression?
You won't be able to use any of the transfer methods, but you'll still have the choice of comparing blue extracts vs purple (the last two options at the bottom of the sheet). You could also use a junk trait to stack blessing on the Karnix, but if you don't already have a junk trait unlocked, it might not be worth doing that.
@MorrolanTV Great guide per usual. Maybe a part 3 outlining the best approach when you've already sunk upgrades and traits into a "meh" purple and finally get your BiS? I imagine there are many people who have already made this mistake...cough cough. I assume the best approach is take my current purple transfers to a junk purple, then fails stack junk traits with blues (repeat if necessary), then transfer to final item?
@HlDensity Going to a junk purple is probably the best option, but the sheet can tell you exactly what go do. Under the junk purple section it will show the blue trait and purple trait costs right next to each other for each trait line. And then the bottom of the sheet can compare that to just buying blue or purple traits for your BIS directly. It might help to watch the purple examples again, or I can show you what I mean on stream
12:40 you could have kept stacking more with skill damage reduction till you guarantee the max health too since max health is more expensive than skill reduction.
@@MorrolanTV yeah but you could have went for more skill damage reduction to accumulate more blessings to guarantee max health and carry leftover blessings to the next item you transfer this one to
At least in this game you can guarantee a success. That right there is enough to convince me to never play BDO again. After literally YEARS of playing that game I never self-upgraded a Blackstar to PEN. My failstack when I stopped playing was over 400.
Could you explain the dropdown "Pick a value to compare" a little bit more? Does it mean if I want to go for that trait, simply select it from the dropdown?
did anyone catch anywhere how much is the blessing can be carried over from a junk purple into target purple? If i have a junk purple with 2300 blessing, and 8/12 traits , will the target item receive the 2300 blessing as well as the blessing from 8/12 traits being filled out? so whatever 2300+blessing of 8 traits ? and is the cap 3k for a purple item?
It would give you 2300 + blessing of 7 traits (120 Blessing each). The first trait doesn't give blessing since it's unlocked automatically. There's no cap to worry about, although you would only need 4050 Blessing to guarantee all your upgrades on a purple using blue extracts. Any Blessing beyond that would just be banked up for I guess when t2 comes out.
I accidentilly put a green through. I think itnate a ton of blessing idk. Is there a way to recuperate blessing on the target acvessory when you make mistakes like this? Or is it just a suck it up situation?
Hey Morrolan... great guide! The one thing you're missing here is the cost of unlocking these traits. Where do we include those in the sheet? Cuz the cost of unlocking might be different than the cost of upgrading traits. Shouldn't you have two columns, one for unlock and one for feeding the trait in? For example, the cost of a soul mirror checst piece junk trait might be different from the cost of a gloom guard chest piece of the same junk trait. But you would need the same named junk trait to unlock one while you could use the cheaper one to upgrade the trait. Do you follow?
@dxl337 There shouldn't be much (or any) difference in cost to unlock vs to upgrade on a junk piece. I think including even more data on the big calc would be more confusing than helpful. Especially since you would then have to divide that cost among the remaining upgrades. At some point the sheet needs to just remain straightforward enough for people to use without getting lost
So much useful stuff here, thanks for putting in the work & sharing! Do you know the rules for transferring purple to purple? If I upgraded my target purple to 7.3, can I not use the purple to purple blessing building method or am I still able to?
@RathVantas each item can receive 1 transfer. So if your purple is level 0 it can receive 1 transfer, if it's level 7.3 it can receive 1 transfer. You can do a lvl9 blue (preferably traited) and that will take it from 7.3 to 9. Or you can go lv9 blue -> lv0 junk purple, that will take it to lv6, throw cheap traits on it, and then lv6 junk purple into the 7.3 target item and that will also work
@@MorrolanTV Got it, thanks - guess I had heard some incorrect info before regarding that. Was able to save a ton of lucent while maxing the traits on my purple rings today with the methods in this video & calculator - thanks again!
Amazing video! Thanks for the spreadsheet! I was doing that calcs on hand holyy! Also ... 98% ... When i was doing this om my weapon... I bought 2... Not a fuking chance to gamble! Not today satan!
did i miss something or the cost of opening the 2nd and 3rd line of traits on the junk blues and purples is not considered in the calculator? (they could have higher price than lowest blue/epic trait)
For junk items we would assume that the cost for unlocking is about the same as upgrading, since those junk items are usually the source of the cheapest trait for that slot. You generally wouldn't want to use a popular meta item with higher unlock costs as a junk item, but if that's all you had, you would need to add those costs manually, the sheet doesn't account for it.
@@MorrolanTV thank you, thats what i guessed. Sometimes the difference is like 5 lucent, so no problem. But I just like automated things where i dont need to think, so im trying to make your epic calculator just a little more epic :D Another nice thing would be calculating how many times its optimal to purple->purple before getting to the target item, or to know how many "packs" of 450 blessings do we need exactly. For example: junk purple fully traited -> junk purple with X traits -> target item ends with XXXX blessings, to level up trait 1 and 3, and the 2nd trait is better leveled using extracts. (I know u can calculate this knowing that every trait transfered has a fixed value, but anyway) I see that in your video you guess on that part, and recently i have been guessing too, not knowing exaclty if i would "overkill" and get more blessings than needed, or not getting to the blessings needed and having to buy more expensive blue traits on the target item to generate the blessings i still need, when i could have done it in the junk item for cheaper. I hope its clear, its so hard to explain these things lol :D
@MorrolanTV if you transfer a lv9 item with a lot of blessing, but it's not full trait, it just has a lot of blessing, to another new item, do you get all the blessing?(purple to purple)
Great guide, thanks for making this. One question though, if you have that much lucent and that much knowledge, why do you have so many blues without max traits?
Some of the items I was saving to upgrade for this video or the livestream. The belt, ring, and pants will stay blue for all of T1 because they're very well statted for my build. The gloves are blue until Field General gauntlets start to drop from Aridus which just unlocked a day or two ago
Can you transfer into the same item multiple times as long as the target item is lower level? An Example: I get a new purple ring, i want to use, I also have a couple others of the same ring with bad traits. Can I put some junk traits into these other rings, and then level these rings to 1, 2 and 3 etc. (which is still relatively cheap), and then transfer Ring 1 into my new level 0 ring, then the Lvl 2 Ring, and after that the level 3 ring? That would be a ton of blessing pretty cheap, or can you do the level transfer only once per item? Was wondering because you mentioned purple to purple can be done again and again.
No, you can never transfer into the same item multiple times. It's always once. You do multiple purple->purple transfers by daisy chaining them. For example, you could build blessing on junk item 1 and transfer it into junk item 2, build more blessing on junk item 2 and transfer it to junk item 3, build more blessing on junk item 3 then transfer it to your target item.
i have purple boots with melee endurance and blue boots with melee endurance. However, it does not give me the option to upgrade the trait with the blue boots in the trait menu. is there a reason for this? my p. boots are lvl 5 and so are my b. boots. is it because they both have levels on them? do they need to be base equipment to level? I also noticed that i could only upgrade traits with different equipments if all 3 traits were unlocked.

@lukyanionutz it depends on how much hit you are going for. Lots of dps want 60 perception so lequiras helps with that. For me I prefer 50 strength since I'm getting 187 hit from Morokai, so I went with darkslayer
@@MorrolanTV ohh,i understand.I think i will choose lequiras because my greatsword it's an Duke Magna, and in endgame of T1 gear i want to have 60 perception stats.Thx 🍻
i think calculator doesn't work correctly it show lower price if i buy desired blues for purple instead of purple desired trait but somehow i spending much more than purples. what's up with that?

@@Morningstar-.- Blue extracts on a purple item involve random chance. Sometimes they will be higher than the number on the sheet, sometimes they will be lower. The sheet calculates the average cost.
Green gear as food for blues, imo, quickly loses its value due to the fact that the minimum price in the auction market for traits from blues you need can be bought for the cheapest amount (10 lucent). For green traits, it's the same price so it doesn't make sense to use green anymore unless you have one just sitting around in your storage or inventory. Crafting or buying greens just to feed it to blue will literally a bad investment 😂
My luck must be cursed on my character 30 blues to max trait my final piece after following the spreadsheet (suggesting to buy blues obviously on the chance the 10% hits) This is after having to pity both dungeon weapons and 24 random matchmaking co-ops without a single Salvation Essence
I've watched this video twice and still cant fully wrap my head around it all. I'm a new player with only a few epic drops so far, so the idea of building a junk blue into a junk epic into another junk epic and then finally into my real epic is just not an option :) I'm going to have to watch it a third time to figure out looking only at blue to purple junk vs purple traits.
This is definitely intended to make use of all the most advanced strategies. As a newer player if you want to keep it simple then just sticking with a fully traited blue->purple transfer and using a 5.5 ratio to compare buying blue traits vs buying purple traits on your epic gear is a good start

Rip prices of junk traits for People who were Smart enough to figure this out.. Too many youtubers shared this and now sadly less Smart players will do it and fuck whole trick
You don't need to use the math(other then higher number is good). Just know it's a chance to upgrade if the item is a lower tier than if it's the same tier it is 100% guaranteed.
So if a purple trait is less then 5.5 times the blue trait (for example purple is 150 lucent and blues are 35 lucent) it's better to just use the purple for 100% chance and not gamble right ? Btw whales not needing to brake their brains with stupid stuff like this lol Korean games are crazy with system like this, who designs crap like this and think its good.

Lol, liked for your guide and for the failed gamba at the end. Somebody hasn't been doing their daily pray emotes to RNGesus 😂
This guy rules
Good stuff
12:40 you could have kept stacking more with skill damage reduction till you guarantee the max health too since max health is more expensive than skill reduction.
In this example they were both the same price but you're right that often max health is more expensive. Sometimes it's the other way around too
@@MorrolanTV yeah but you could have went for more skill damage reduction to accumulate more blessings to guarantee max health and carry leftover blessings to the next item you transfer this one to
As a longtime fan of yours (BDO you were a savior), you make some amazing informative videos! Do you have your own Guild??
Thank you! I'm in the Epherium guild but recruitment is pretty limited currently
BDO rng is back. Nice 2% my friend ;)
Where i can find that, what other gear can upgrade my BOOTS Magic evasion?
did i miss something or the cost of opening the 2nd and 3rd line of traits on the junk blues and purples is not considered in the calculator? (they could have higher price than lowest blue/epic trait)
For junk items we would assume that the cost for unlocking is about the same as upgrading, since those junk items are usually the source of the cheapest trait for that slot. You generally wouldn't want to use a popular meta item with higher unlock costs as a junk item, but if that's all you had, you would need to add those costs manually, the sheet doesn't account for it.
@@MorrolanTV thank you, thats what i guessed. Sometimes the difference is like 5 lucent, so no problem. But I just like automated things where i dont need to think, so im trying to make your epic calculator just a little more epic :D
Another nice thing would be calculating how many times its optimal to purple->purple before getting to the target item, or to know how many "packs" of 450 blessings do we need exactly.
For example:
junk purple fully traited -> junk purple with X traits -> target item ends with XXXX blessings, to level up trait 1 and 3, and the 2nd trait is better leveled using extracts. (I know u can calculate this knowing that every trait transfered has a fixed value, but anyway)
I see that in your video you guess on that part, and recently i have been guessing too, not knowing exaclty if i would "overkill" and get more blessings than needed, or not getting to the blessings needed and having to buy more expensive blue traits on the target item to generate the blessings i still need, when i could have done it in the junk item for cheaper.
I hope its clear, its so hard to explain these things lol :D
@MorrolanTV if you transfer a lv9 item with a lot of blessing, but it's not full trait, it just has a lot of blessing, to another new item, do you get all the blessing?(purple to purple)
The blessing that's already there always gets transferred. The traits themselves will get converted into even more blessing
How does "Junk blues on target item" work?
@@MorrolanTV Gotcha, thanks for the answer.
i have purple boots with melee endurance and blue boots with melee endurance.
Once you level up an item it becomes bound to the owner therefore not allows us anymore to use it a material for traiting.
@@lostenan2092 unfortunate. Thank you
Not sure if that might also be a reason but the item cannot be currently equipped.
Great vid but unfortunately, in my server, people don't sell greens in AH as much in yours. There are extracted green traits in the AH but it's basically the same price as the blue ones. Lol
I feel like i have to study so much to play this game ...and the more I learn the more i feel discouraged lol
Ive learnt speedruning, reached masters in sc2..so im bo stranger to hard work in gaming but god damn this shit is convoluted. I was thinkng that xompared to new world tnL doesnt make make you grind for proffesions and mining,/ gathering mats but im starting to think i was way off ...oh well better suck it up
Btw love this channel!
It's way too much. I'm falling asleep. Feel like I'm in a math class in middle school
Great video bro' thx.I have the both daggers, darkslayers and lequirys, and i don't know which one to choose..I saw most of players playing with darkslayers, but also lequirys it's a good weapon from dungeon boss with passive 25dmg..Maybe 11str and HP from ds daggers are better than lequirys?
@lukyanionutz it depends on how much hit you are going for. Lots of dps want 60 perception so lequiras helps with that. For me I prefer 50 strength since I'm getting 187 hit from Morokai, so I went with darkslayer
@@MorrolanTV ohh,i understand.I think i will choose lequiras because my greatsword it's an Duke Magna, and in endgame of T1 gear i want to have 60 perception stats.Thx 🍻
28:37 when the whole thing clicked ^^
My purple is already transfered from blue without traits (no blessings). So I’m supposed the equipment is screwed?
Sadly yea
I would transition back to blue weap max trait that while farming for your purple item again.
So every purple gear u have to upgrade to level 7.30% before transfer it?
No, you don't have to, you should focus more on Blessing and making sure you're transferring the items in the correct order
i think calculator doesn't work correctly it show lower price if i buy desired blues for purple instead of purple desired trait but somehow i spending much more than purples. what's up with that?
How many times did the blues fail?
@@MorrolanTV blue max health trait is from 31 lucent and purples are 356, i entered this numbers it says buy desired blues= 171 lucent. but it's definetly not. i am so confused. i enter the numbers on desired trait section btw.
@@Morningstar-.- Blue extracts on a purple item involve random chance. Sometimes they will be higher than the number on the sheet, sometimes they will be lower. The sheet calculates the average cost.
@@MorrolanTV i thought u were saying it's calculating guaranteed blue cost.
What do I do if I already transferred my bluie into purple without traits?
You would remove blue->blue and blue->purple transfers from your choices and see which strategies look best from there
wow i was spending my lucent wrong xD
Green gear as food for blues, imo, quickly loses its value due to the fact that the minimum price in the auction market for traits from blues you need can be bought for the cheapest amount (10 lucent). For green traits, it's the same price so it doesn't make sense to use green anymore unless you have one just sitting around in your storage or inventory. Crafting or buying greens just to feed it to blue will literally a bad investment 😂
46:50 Insane LUCK!
48:00 No Freaking way hahahahaha
What do I do if I am f2p and havent gotten a drop to sell for lucent?
Just posted a full breakdown of how I get all my Lucent: th-cam.com/video/kqpOh4trAlc/w-d-xo.html
O google Sheets O ya baby
What would this look like for a completely F2P player though?
I am completely F2P (: and the video is all about saving lucent so it would apply to any playstyle.
My luck must be cursed on my character
30 blues to max trait my final piece after following the spreadsheet (suggesting to buy blues obviously on the chance the 10% hits)
This is after having to pity both dungeon weapons and 24 random matchmaking co-ops without a single Salvation Essence
I got 2 in 1 box once. Only like my 4th try. Thought then got 2 of amber rings with like skill dmg boost and health or something
The think i dont like in this video is the last part
What did you do to make 34k lucent
Lol I'm gonna have to make a video about this I guess, the short answer is I just never let my tokens/contracts max out, I buy the stones/ink from the contract merchant every week, and I use them as efficiently as I can
I wil be using the final part of this video to convince people NOT to gamble with blessings!
why can't i makje a copy of this
that 2 fails 🤣🤣
I feel like such a idot i some how over looked this part of the game I've never played a mmorpg before so the game is still very foreign to me I was about to quite when I came across this video ty yt for the recommendation as well as you for taking the time to show us butt heads how to do this I was wondering why at level 50 I'm one shot from anything pvp and 3 shots from and boss I'm afraid I made so many mistakes ima have to start over or spend some real money to get my character right cause atm it's a mess I can't seem to break 2,200 gs I didn't trait any gear up huge mistakes made atm I think my only option cause I messed up so bad is to dump 600 bones into lucent and get some help getting a gear set made as I'm using the free gear u get from the store blessing pouches is there open world good gear drops like just out hunting mobs that I can farm the game shows some places but I've not once gotten gear to drop the few times I had another player some how got them when I was standing on top of them
Why nobody is asking how this guy has 35000 lucent? :)
About traits upgrades
Lower tier to Blue - Chance
Blue to Blue - Instant
Lower tier to Epic - Chance
Epic to Epic - Instant
How u make 50k? I have now 3k and it took me 3 weeks to make 3000 luzent
Just posted a guide on this: th-cam.com/video/kqpOh4trAlc/w-d-xo.html
@ thx 😄
Holy....2 straight fails in a row...
98% fail for the content lol TWICE!
Htf you got 35k lucent 😯
How do you think 🤔
Lol i made that mistake once with a 98% never again. Im not a rich boy either
I’m so lost lol
Great videos dude but you’ve got to be a statition or something the way you work with and talk about all these numbers 😂 got me lost
Rip prices of junk traits for People who were Smart enough to figure this out.. Too many youtubers shared this and now sadly less Smart players will do it and fuck whole trick
I know I'm dumb but is this complicated math really necessary? I think the game is dumb
You don't need to use the math(other then higher number is good). Just know it's a chance to upgrade if the item is a lower tier than if it's the same tier it is 100% guaranteed.
@@LegionZer0games I think I understand it's just the inventory management of having 10 items on you to upgrade 1. I'm just a simple ps5 player
F2P math, me dumbo whale just swiperino.
@@Dellyrium money + auction house = boss build
The math helps you being more efficient, you can't do it without the math, so it all comes to how efficient you want to be.
This is all to complicated to be any fun. This 2 part video just made me want to go back to FFXIV.
Hey, your video and your sheet is insane i legit exceed 3150gs(200+ from before) with small amount of lucent but i would like 5-10 min from your time to ask you smth personally on discord if thats fine with you, i will leave you a dm there
