Thank you very much Tiago for the great review. I hope we will see similar builds for the yellow minifigs too - in fact, I wrote about this to Lego Customer Service too, where they welcomed the feedback. I will definitely keep an eye out for more!
Lego has pulled out all the new bricks in this set and looks great as a display set but the inside is a big letdown compared to the exterior but it’s Lego friends so what would you expect
I am WELL outside the target audience for this set, but there's something about it I just love. It hits a kind of "impractical, extravagant, dreamlike" vibe that I can't quite place but is oddly nostalgic for me. What a phenomenal design, seriously impressive. It would've been so easy to make it look just plain tacky, and it definitely IS tacky, bu, like... Tastefully? Idk. Just kinda adorable.
The colours are easily the best part, in my opinion! Makes for exciting and joyful sets, perfect for the theme's target audience. This really feels like LEGO's answer to Barbie's dollhouse.
I actually kind of like the sunset colors being used on the house, but once you showed it in a more modern black I had to agree that black looked better. I do wish we would get more modern homes from Lego as in my experience Lego blocks are perfect in replicating the modern aesthetic, especially since many modern homes are very blocky.
Well yes, it may look better that way but that doesn't really comply with the target audience for this set. 14 year old me would've found black boring looking.
I just pressed play on the video and seen the house and thought about that and got very excited! So thank you for making me even more hyped for a Tiago video!!!
I always loved the architecture sets that replicated modern houses like falling water and farmsworth. id rather have sets like those instead of the pyramids
As someone who grew up on Lego Friends, I'm super happy you're reviewing them now! People often undermine things designed for little girls, and its really awesome to see you being open-minded and giving them a chance! Thank you, Tiago! Love your videos
Our little girls deserve lego sets that are just as creative and fun as boy-targeted sets. I think that the LEGO group is awesome for keeping the same level of quality and love in their designs, regardless of target audience.
@@tj2375 I agree! being a little girl, i grew up on barbies and lego friends. Some of my best memories were going to my cousins' house and playing with his nerf guns and toy lightsabers. Kids should be allowed to play with whatever!
@@tj2375 The new range of LEGO Friends sets also include boy figures as main characters, put on the exact same level as the girl characters! Major improvement, if you ask me, because boys should feel like they can play with these sets as well.
This really does feel like a Hollywood Hills type of mansion. I really have no interest in Friends, but man, this is an awesome set. It’s great to see that modern architecture has finally arrived for building toys.
I agree with the other commenters, I think the colors are fun!! Why should everything be drab and greyscale? Not only are the colors more appealing to the target demographic, but as a Lego enthusiast outside that target group, I also love it more than if it were plain black and grey and white.
Thanks for doing the review on this! As I get older the more I look at sets not to purchase for myself. Going to get this for my nieces birthday! This will be a fun build to do with her! Thanks, Tiago!
I like that it kinda captures the retro vibe of fancy houses in like LA in the 80s Its also nice that lof of construction and walls are build up, not made from huge pieces like CIty often has
I'm an AFOL for a LOOOONG time now, but this has got to be one of the most beautiful Lego houses ever. I don't care much for minidolls, and I'm not even into City, but I'm seriously tempted. You could use this easily in a superhero setting or in the Ninjago or Monkie Kid worlds. It's stunning. Once on clearance, I don't think I'll be able to resist...
Using this set, people could make a great looking Malibu Mansion from the Iron Man movies… You can have his sports car in the garage, his workshop, his hall of armour and more areas to fit iconic scenes. (Just a few colour swaps).
The new LEGO Ideas Twilight house looks a little similar to this! Maybe this Friends set was inspired by it? Maybe the LEGO designer saw Twilight and thought the house was cool and made something similar?
This set would have been in development for 1-2 years already, so doubtful it was inspired by an Ideas set that was only chosen recently. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's likely LEGO group already had this concept in mind even before the 10-year Friends anniversary in 2022, and developed this as the grand showcase set instead of doing a proper 10-year set like Ninjago got.
I for one appreciate @Tiago going outside the traditional, AFOL review box and giving us yet another Friends set that I too, "oddly" enjoy. LEGO did a great job bridging the gap between the Friends 14 year old target audience w/both younger and older audiences. Heck, even my 6 year old son told me this set would look awesome in our future LEGO city. :)
This is pretty fantastic, thanks for the review as always! I honestly would love it if Lego did some modular compatible buildings with Friends the way they did with Marvel and Ninjago. Based on the many MOCs based on Botanical Garden and the forthcoming Ideas set, it is clear that there is an appetite for these kinds of products. I can only imagine what a fully modular compatible Friends set would look like, I think it would be wonderful additions to Lego cities all across the world. Lego, make it happen please!!
Love seeing the occasional Friends reviews finding their way onto your channel! I think if you wanted to review a couple more Friends sets next year the Space Base would make sense in a group review with other Space-themed sets, and possibly the Farm Animal subthemed sets for a goat comparison.
LEGO Friends has some amazing sets right now! The friendship treehouse and Andrea's theatre school are two of my favorite builds from the series. Also, kids LOVE Friends sets like this, especially little girls. Like you said, it's the ultimate LEGO dollhouse!
I totally agree with you that classic minifigures are way better than minidolls, also the color scheme can be wild but I already own the first Friends Grand Hotel (twice) and the old Friends Hospital (also twice) because they where good buildings with good pieces. Recoloring is super simple with LEGO 😀
I love the bright colors. I’ve gotten a few friends sets lately. I got the bowling alley on super sale, the botanical gardens, and the tower and kitchen sets to make the 5 level tower. I used to skip that part of the LEGO aisle, but not anymore
I’m one of those people who buys the occasional Friends set when it fits into the City line, like the Botanical Gardens. Am thinking of picking up this one and the other Friends houses for the same reason. It would be great to see the same design innovation brought to City and Creator 3-in-1 houses.
Andrea's Mansion is definitely a fantastic looking LEGO set! It really gives off some Beverly/ Holmby Hills vibes. There's plenty of play features and thus it's a great set for both displaying and playing with! I would suggest that if you're getting Andrea Mansion, that you combine it with the LEGO Friends bowling lane set, as a lot of houses this set is based on have bowling alleys.
I love this set! Lego Friends and Elves is actually why I started collecting Lego as an adult. I've always found minifigures to blocky for my taste, so minidolls (even though they don't move their legs independently) are what pulled me in. Lego Friends has come a long way! I Love their colors. :D Me encanta! Gracias for the review.
I think reviewers might want to stick stuff under a blacklight then complain about the colors. Between glow in the dark elements and these new neon colors…things are getting pretty fun in Lego land.
There are a ton of fabulous Friends sets, pretty much any time there’s a boat or ship I can’t resist buying it! And my kids love the Disney themed Friends sets. Definitely hope you’ll review more of this line of Lego
Friends has been killing it for several years, starting with the Rescue Mission subtheme in 2019 and extending to the botanical garden in 2023 and now this one. I'd never buy it for myself of course, but I sure am happy to have a daughter who's the right age for it to give me an excuse to build and play with it.
I love Friends. I’ve had many of the LEGO big builds, and a Ninjago City Set - I sold them… they are massive and hard to keep clean. My Friend’s sets can be switched out, easily wiped down with a damp paper cloth- I create different little town set ups. I love the botanical garden set best- now this set is a stunner- just have to decide if I want to get back into the “big boys” - not so easy to move around sets….
I am starting to think the theme (friends) is someone's pet project (internally at lego). They get sets that would make EVERYONE crazy in Lego city or if they would make such great castle sets / space sets with such attention to detail as this set - and the storyline connectivity between old friends and new friends. Who knows how happy lego fans would actually be?
I have some kind of aversion towards the new Friends generation but I remember how previous generation Friends sets were simple play toys, kinda rough around the edges. This generations sets are all incredibly designed and look so smooth! I even considered buying this one at the end of this academic year!
As a Speed Champions fan im really happy with the colour of the car, now it's possible to make a teal car due to the new arches, i think the rims are pretty funky and could work in some builds. The windshield piece could perhaps be used for a spaceship
It’s a great looking set for sure. Always interested in new parts and colours. Be interesting to see the profile brick released in the new red-orange down the road.
Lego Friends has been at the vanguard in terms of building design for a while now. For instance, they were also the first to do slanted roofs, and then, a year later, city had those as well.
I am so happy for the transparent yellow garage door pieces, and I really hope that they will be on pick a brick so that I can build epic Blacktron Mocs.
But only because Lego wants it to do good, if they’d really put much thought into more sets the whole co Panay would do much better but their most important mission nowadays is to please investors…
I'll take a contrary view about the mini-dolls. As an adult, I'm not the target audience for them or the Friends line in general--though the botanical garden is a beautiful achievement for Lego's designers--but the mini-dolls actually are an improvement on the standard minifigures. As Lego slowly but steadily adds realism and detail to sets and continues their move into quasi-scale model display pieces, the regular minifigures look more and more terrible. As soon as you display those squat little guys with yellow cylindrical heads on/in a set, any illusion of realism is immediately shattered, and you're reminded you have a childrens' toy on your shelf. The mini-dolls at least take a tiny step in the right direction of added realism to correspond to the added realism Lego keeps injecting into sets as the years go by.
What, do you really want the 4 Juniors figures to make a return? (That said, now I honestly wonder what Jack Stone would have looked like as a standard Minifigure.)
I agree that 4+ figures are actualy great, would love to see modernized take on them. All they needed is to be CUSTOMIZABLE. I do hate how Friendsfigs cant sit properly and move wrists though
They are more realistic in that they have something approaching the look of an actual person, whereas the minifigure proportions and heads barely make the attempt. As for Lego being toys and not models for adults, I'd say they fall in the middle. And clearly, Lego has been going out of their way in recent years to market sets as display pieces for adults with the whole 18+ marketing campaign.@@tj2375
200 $ is a lot of money for many people, but then again, even if I grew up playing with Lego, I never got any outside of birthdays and Christmas, and for that, I think this set is fairly appropriate. I could see a couple of family members coming together to give a kid this set as a present like my family members would do with big Adventure and Harry Potter sets back in the day.
I noticed that you always hide a subscribe brick in your LEGO reviews, Tiago, but you hid two in this one! Is it for reaching half a million subscribers? How did you make the brick?
I do think you should’ve do mor review off friends I don’t buy but I think the designers s are awesome I saw her in a tour really great stile of her own and very positive and showed in her sets I think she’s growing and you can see it in her models too
Thank you for the review! I made up my mind on buying it when it was revealed but this review made me more excited on getting it! The garage feature is sick!
At my house we have the Friends Tree House. I was impressed with that set. I've seen some cool build techniques and things from the friends line, but not a fan of the dolls, I wish they were minifigs (I'm not the target audience for Friends line)
I was really surprised by this result and the modern house which are rare with Lego, but the fact that this house and maybe the Cullen house Form which will a be idea set make me want to build a city with all moderns house, Lego is starting his new era of modern architecture build …
Great set! I would like to see your take on minifigurization (is there is such word🤔?) of this house - similar to the botanical garden) Love your reviews! They are the best way to look into amazing sets that I cannot afford(
Lego Friends have been knocking out some seriously impressive sets recently, I agree about the Botanical gardens set, really enjoyed that build and I think the same will be with this set. Excellent review. Do you think you can review the pop star bus also a new release for friends. Merry Christmas 🎄
Hi Tiago, when making a 'Friends-line' could you please focus on the build. I'm an older Lego-fan (old enough to have the original Lion Knights Castle) but contary to you I like the vibrant colours. However, I like my buildings to be sturdy like 'Modulars', especially above €100. Thank you & keep going!!!
Hi Tiago, just like you I’m quite a bit older than the target clientel for the Friends line. We have similar tastes when it comes to building experience and dislike of Technic. Your reviews have been a big help to me, so all I can say is ... please review the sets that seem like an interesting build to you and all will be ok. (... and if not ok, just say so and learn form it).

yeah, and the house is in the colours of the lesbian pride flag

5:54 is anyone else concerned about that waterfall? Those fish could easily fall down it. :( THINK ABOUT THE FISH!!!
Are we all getting this because of the nostalgia 🧐
Honestly i thought this was a moc i cant believe this is real
Lego Friends have been knocking out some seriously impressive sets recently, I agree about the Botanical gardens set, really enjoyed that build and I think the same will be with this set. Excellent review. Do you think you can review the pop star bus also a new release for friends. Merry Christmas 🎄
Lego friends is the line that deserves the award for most improved in my opinion
Thank you for another amazing kid-friendly review, Tiago!
Man what a phenomenal set. The friends designers have been going wild lately
Interesting new pieces and color. And interesting review too ! Pease do more friends sets.
Oh my god i want this set so bad! Those colors are absolutely amazing!
One of my top five sets is Poolside Paradise from Paradisa and this feels like a modern take!
With a few mods it would make for a cool ironmans Malibu mantion
Thank you for this review. 😊 Your happiness, echoes my joy. 😊 I love Friends sets. ❤
Really like the car, even with the semi-neon rims. that would be nice as a standalone set. I'm not much on dollhouses, no matter the theme.
I love the colors.
