I found out that in my E46 when you pull the left lever up or down before turning, theres an indicator on either side which shows other drivers where you are going.
When I found out, I was used to new cars having it and tried it out. It was only about half a second before I would have stopped pressing the button and thought it doesn't have the feature.
0:30 Not necessarily tampered.....I changed out my LCM and the dot came on without my mileage skipping a beat. The dealer wanted $300. to get rid of the dot, I told them I liked the dot.
Strange how nobody knows about the parking sidelights even though it's on the stalk, the little P. They're parking lights so you flick it to the side of the road, so on dark roads your car is visible.
Feature no.4, most cars have the 'Parking light' feature for L&R depending on which side of road you parked at night. Maybe it's a normal function for Europe..? Thank you for showing this feature to other BMW users anyhow :)
Dude the e46 had this technology as far back as 99 when the 1st e46s rolled out of Bmw factory are you sure other Ford, Chevrolet, etc had this same tech?

That "tamper dot" doesn't just mean your mileage has been fucked with I replaced my headlight module without coding it and the dot came on because the light module is part of the mileage redundancy feature bit it doesn't mean that the mileage was tampered with always
When the latch for letting down the back seat gives up. Go to the boot and there is a hole behind the mounting bolts for the latch. Insert screwdriver and move to the side to undo latch.
Number 4:is a parking light. Most European cars have them. You learn in the driving school that you have to turn them on if you park on the side of the road otherwise you can get a ticket. It ain't common but it could cost you up to 75€ in Austria.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda Civics with Spoon engines. And on top of that, he just went into Harry's and ordered three T66 turbos with NOS... and a Motec system and exhaust.

If you have your key in the zero position of the ignition and you open the driver door, you get a chime or beeping to notify you that you left something on or key in the ignition. Well if you pull the key it stops the chiming. If you place the key back in the the ignition, driver door open or not, the chiming will NOT start sounding again. Even if you close the driver door and then open it again, it still will not chime again until you've changed the position of the ignition with the key.( Possibly resets after using the fob, time limit, or perhaps something or other... but I haven't test it that in depth.) Hope you didn't know that and you may enjoy the door open with key in ignition with no beeping.

Hey, I have the same car but silver and an 05! Anyways, I have to press like 3 times and hold for the windows to come down. I can't roll them back up, and one thing else. When I lock my car up, it doesn't make any noise. The lights just flash and the car locks. How do I go about activating that noise to set the alarm on? Or is my alarm once I lock the car? Thanks.

Nice features but you have to be right close to your BMW E46 for it to work. On my 2017 Hyundai Tucson I can be far away from my car for similar features to work.
I love the windows down with key feature. If your a dumb @$$ like myself and lose your key snowboarding due to a hole in your coat pocket and haven't gotten a new keyless entry key u can insert the key in the door and hold it to the left to roll them down and to the right to roll them up. Super helpful if you forget to roll a window up once you get out and lock your car.
@@marincickaj6471 So, did some digging and found out that the higher specs or Comfort Editions indeed had this function - but as I did say, I didn't came it across on Audi nor Mercedes from the 90s despite they were high spec. An Audi A8 I drove closed the windows via key, when locking and holding it in lock position, it will close the windows but not open - and the remote did nothing.
@@EvanGoyuk oh nice! My key is wasted though.. Only works manually. During DIY battery change I noticed someone before me had destroyed the transmitter component by drowning it in clue lol😂 Of course it resulted in splitting it after the second opening
i think my key battery is just dead, how would the key become un programmed from factory? The keys are 19 years old i’m guessing they haven’t been changed because they’re supposed to recharge but the cars been sitting recently so i doubt they’ve been recharging.

It's normally not the blinkers which are on, it's either the left or right tail- or headlight and it's called the parking lights. Well at least mine does that, but yours has xenon and i think that's different then

That parking light "feature" isn't a hidden feature in my opinion. Every car I know can do that and in germany you *have to* turn the parking light on if your car is parked and it is hard to see because it is dark or similar

That turn signal parking light thing has been a "hidden" feature on BMWs for many years. My E28 from 1985 also has it.
Yes, typically German cars have it. In a Mercedes-Benz it's not so hidden, it's different positions on the lights switch.

It's called parking lights and in Germany/Austria it used to be mandatory.
In the UK its a legal requirement to use them when parking on any road with a speed limit over 40mph, although I've never seen them being used.

I coded my car to unlock only the drivers door on the first click. Seems there isn't anyway to press and hold to roll up or down the windows

when I do the park blinker' - my headlight on that side stays on instead of the blinker' (Indicator!)

All European cars i have owned have had all these functions. Propably standard in EU.
Mercedes and Audi don't have the Close/open window feature... maybe recently they adopted it but in the early 2000s they didn't

It is not properly coded, that"s why. Any Audi CAN do this
You can also half open windows by releasing the button early.
Also by doing this directly from the keyhole, you can set them in any position you want
You can do that with the remote key by just letting go of the button when the windows are at the desired position
