    Good content, keep it coming! I too bought the bobber for the platform / looks, and I'm still glad I did. It seems to be one of those bikes that you can build up from very easily. I put .50cal ammo cans on mine and use them pretty much every day. I've also seen guys do the opposite and strip them down even more. Totally depends on personal preference, but I think any motorcycle becomes that much more functional by adding any amount of storage.

    • @dadwithabike
      @dadwithabike  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I almost did the 50 cal but could never get it to fit right for me. Love the idea and the look though...

    what are the little rectangular holes for. I thought that is where a soft leather bag would strap into. At 7:30 mark.

    • @dadwithabike
      @dadwithabike  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is where passenger seat or rack mounts go. They mount on the inside of that fender strut

    I'm a function over form person and a guy who commutes to a steel mill carrying tools, gym gear and enough food for a 12 hour shift so saddlebags are a must.
    I don't think bags detract from the aesthetics.

    • @dadwithabike

      I agree , they fit well within the rear triangle of the shock and swing arm. Great bags!

    I think its weird when people trip about having some small bags on a bobber. They're great to have. Never know when youll need a tool kit or somethin.

  • @tomedwards159
    @tomedwards159 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    have you ridden in the rain with those bags? doesn't look to water proof, I take it you have to use some sort of dry bag also? the sissy bar is that just to carry more luggage?

    • @dadwithabike
      @dadwithabike  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So the bags are fine unless it's a downpour, but yeah in almost all cases I use dry bags anyway. The dry bags also help with compression so I can pack more if needed. As for the sissy bar, yeah it's if I'm going on a really long trip. My Sturgis trip I used by sissybar

    elocation ,does it have a light to aluminate the plate and is it DOT approved ? Thank You so kindly. Cheers

    • @dadwithabike
      @dadwithabike  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are the fifth person to ask me to do one on my license plate bracket. I'll spin that up in a week or two soon as I can. You can easily run a light to illuminate the plate - but the brake lights (running lights at night) provide the necessary illumination required here in Texas.

    • @billalcantar03
      @billalcantar03 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately ,here in California there's a VC code that requires a light specifically for license plate illumination and it has to be a white LED or incandescent bulb. No blues ,reds, no other colors period . Looking forward to the video .Also, how tall are you ? just getting a feel for the running boards Thanks
