Thank you for video seen a few “how to” videos on these exact floor boards but what they didn't cover was how easy it was to adjust the shifter if it becomes a problem.
Floorboards are definitely on my list of modifications to my Scout, plus the engine guards. I'll have to look through your videos and find the one that covers your install and thoughts on them.
Good video. The ridge on pin that holds floorboard on is for a C ring, or c clip as it is sometimes called. Readily available @ Amazon or any parts store. You will also need the tool to put it on with.
Use the rubber rings. Don’t file or grind anything. Just use some elbow grease to push them in. If you don’t use them they will be too loose to work the way they are meant to. Good vid tho. Super helpful.
I had to cut the head off of the spacers because there was no way they were fitting it them. BTW, to raise the shift, take the rod off the trans spline and rotate clockwise a few degrees and reinstall. Takes just seconds.
Ia was able to fit the rubber spacer inside.. what I did was I used a grinder to file the metal spacer so that the rubber would fit with the spacer.. I also was planning to do the same like what you did but I was scared that It might vibrate at such high speed plus of course ride quality wouldnt be at par with original pegs..
I might try that, Like i said i just wanted them on and did not feel like messing around with them at the moment lol. so far they are holding strong and sooo worth the money.
For me they are perfect, the only issue I had at first was getting used to the new shift lever angle. With the peg you have a good range or motion but with the floor board there is none. so at first when i was shifting I had to adjust them 3 or 4 times to get a good angle. SO its not to high but not to call that my foot could not get under it to shift, This passed weekend I rode about 1,000 miles and it make the ride soooo much better.
The sleeves that come with the robber rings do fit you just got to push them in very hard and then they fit very nice and tight.

Just fyi the sleeve and rubber piece does fit, you just have to really muscle it in there…
Not even close on mine. Had to cut the heads off the spacers.
Just ordered these last week they will be here tomorrow. 🎉😊

Does anyone have problems with getting your foot under the shifter?
