I was playing at Dawn Winery with Sayu because she's small and then I realized instead of hiding I could just spend my time catching the crystal cores lol
someone was using sayu and we were also at dawn winery and i did the same thing but with kazuha
I was hunting there as well and I was like: Oh, Core butterflies while I hunt? Great time investment

For fairness, sure. But otherwise... Ehhhh. It's slightly slower so it messes up my timing, which has become reflex after using Ayaka so much. Also it's just super unsettling to see Ayaka and Mona running like everyone else.

Pro tip for hunters: Always use Attack skill as soon as it cooldown so that U know their general location.
Pro tip for rebels: Most hunters doesn't look up.

ever since the first windtrace I personally love playing as albedo and standing next to the two maids in dawn winery and not even bothering to hide.

Windtrace sure does being back memories. Being unable to see thru bushes when camera is in them blocking 90% of your view small props obstructing you when running and lighting striking you down. Good times...

@@liateapot2313 yes you can steal the hunter's favor, (the green orb thing) if you get it first, and cast it you get a major speed boost for 20 sec? which can secure victory for the rebels

Pro Tip for rebels: Find a really small place, or a really high Cliff, and stay there, as far from the ledge as you can. Even if the hunter uses the hunch skill, it will take them a while to get to you, and you can just glide away.
Pro tip for Hunters: Hide in the area near the favor and stay really still, if players will either not notice you, or think ur afk, and will try to grab the favor, that's a pretty good time to catch them. Also, if playing in Dawn winery at night, lantern disguises glow, so they can be pretty obvious if a rebel is hiding in the hedges.

Honestly the best strat for me is to constantly observe the hunter as he moves cause most people would have the art that gives you the direction of the rebel’s so they will eventually find you anyway when they get close use invisibility to run away

It's all about improvizing, most of the time i never use disguise thanks to that.

I’m also the one who sacrificed themselves for favor because if Hunter gets favor then you don’t know what power they chose and the one which stops you moving and highlight you scares me.

I had no idea this event was coming back but I’m happy cause now I got friends to play it with!

Some tips I’ve learnt from the game:
For rebels:
* Always keep eye on hunter. I start with disguise but if I need to shift positions or disguises I do so quickly. Especially since not many people count how many barrels or scarecrows etc there are. And if they do then they waste time. The only exception is if the person has good/photographic memory.
* try not to move as an item because 1) you can hear it sometimes and 2) a moving barrel isn’t sus at all (note the sarcasm)
* if all 3 rebels are alive (or at least 2) try to trust teammates and take the favour. It puts you out in open and risk getting caught but if you grab the favor before the Hunter then it’s worth it as it’s easier for team mates to win the next 1 min or so. if Hunter gets the favor then you don’t know what power they chose. It could stop you moving and highlight you or it can show everyone on map or show one specific person on map for long time.
* Know what the hunters abilities are so you can prepare for any that comes out in case you don’t plan on getting the favour.
* higher areas are good hiding spots especially if you can also be something small like a lamp which can easily be glanced pass.
And as a Hunter:
* I use detection skill. It’s more useful for me than the general location skill.
* I try to scan everything if I’m not scanning I’m clicking the capture button. If I detect something instant capture click just in case the person is on edge of the skill and tries to leg it. * if the capture doesn’t work scan again. If they’re still in area look around especially up or down. But chances are they’ve gone BUT they can’t go that far because invisibility (if revel chose this) only lasts couple secs so
* try a higher vantage point and watch for anyone dashing trying to relocate themselves.
* knowing the map area helps. Eg in the training Baracks map there’s a cliff with 4 scarecrows. If you know that and there’s an extra scarecrow then one is a decoy or person (again like above knowing the skills rebels can have helps you) . Same with that map at top of tower there’s only one barrel. Just that once you start climbing keep eye out for any other tower nearby because the rebel might run while your occupied checking the other tower.
And finally for both party’s:
*Take advantage of character’s passive e.g rosaria runs faster at night (00:00-06:00 I think), Kazuha has reduced stamina cost (helpful if you need to outrun the hunter). Amber gliding stamina etc.
Personally I love using Xiao. Starting at higher places and then jumping off things when Hunter gets close but before then can see me jump off. But if they do see me then quickly climbing back up as they drop to try and catch me. Xiao passive let’s me climb quicker So I can outmanuever the Hunter if I need to. Ñ it also depends on what you’re good at. If you know that you get stuck when climbing then don’t do it. If you’re not good at movement (eg me on mobile) then avoid moving etc. play to your strengths.
And most importantly just have fun with it. The Hunter seeing you and trying to run way or vice versa is actually really fun especially when there’s little time left.
I could write more but that’s already a lot and idek if anyone willl read it 😂.

Finally someone who says to get the favor as rebel!! I have always had to be the one who gets the favor and ita a bit annoying.
Also, these tips are really good! I use most of them already and, I'd say I'm doing alright in windtrace.
@@TENMATSUKASA88 yeah I don’t think a lot of people actually realise the rebel can take the favour. I was playing with my 2 siblings as Hunter and it said my bro had taken the favor and I was like you what. Hold up that’s not fair.
If I’m nearby I try to get the favour. The ruins is easy for me because I glide to get the favour which is faster than climbing the weird pillar it usually lands on. So I can grab it turn invisible and rehide. I often forget to use the favour but it just makes things so much easier to not get captured. The Hunter is pretty op so anything that reduces their strength is helpful.
I’m glad you like the tips. This is actually the first time playing I wasn’t found when first wind trace event was out. But I was lucky that I had my siblings and we played it together 2-3 times before playing it random publically so I understood the game more.
bueaty3656, i read the whole lot xD, its my first windtrace, of my one year playing this game, But theres one time i played as a hunter, and got the favor spotting everyone on the map. it was funny as hell coz (idk if theyre first timers too) but literally everyone was running around crazy across the map. and i got bumped up to them many times, But sadly, i tried to capture one rebel and im pretty sure it was on spot buuut, it wont let me. in the end i caught no one, but i had a good laugh.

@@bueaty3656 yea i had, and i just realized that the reasons rebels run around is to avoid capture, idk why i thought its a good idea to just stay still as a rebel haha, pardon, it was around 3 am the time i wrote that comment and probably my mind goes blank xD.
As an Albedo main, I really miss my elevator so I always abuse my parkour abilities to get as high as possible.

I played this just yesterday and I was the hunter lol. I even sent an emoji of Jean where it says "oh", and this one Xiao character says that "I'm scared". I'm using Kaeya that time. And then there's me, saying that "don't be, I might not able to catch u all" and then when it's already time that I need to hunt them, I immediately caught them within 50s or like a minute😭😭😭, and then this one Thoma player be like "bro..." I'm so sorry dude, I'm also shocked that I caught u all so fast😭
tip for rebels, it's better to get to high ground if you don't plan on using props to hide as. Gives you a chance to see the hunter coming, i especially recommend the hiding tool o that when you run away the hunter cannot see where you went. I love doing that so much. Being above everyone but in plain sight and just when the hunter gets close i go in the opposite direction and using invisible.. 10/10 recommend every time. Makes it more run to taunt the hunter .
I like standing on small cliffs that no one thinks about, especially near the spawn area. I've won rounds by just standing in one single spot on a cliff and watching the hunter wildly run around.
Baits are kinda better, as you can place a crate on one of tree branches and when hunter triggers it, you just fly away (while leaving a crate on top).
I did this event on both my & my friend's acc and it was so fun. But i have 1 question and that is Can we choose which region we want to play in? Like I mostly got whispering woods and I don't like hiding as barrels or something -_- the other times when I got inazuma I won both the times and it was more fun as stool and lamp :3
Edit: I wish MHY could make this event as a mini permanent game in genshin. It would be so enjoyable tbh TwT
i don't think you can choose the area of the event. it will be a random draw by the game. good luck!
the only problem is if windtrace is made a mini permanent event with time it will be burnt out and people will get bored of it, so i think its better as a time limited event (╯▽╰)

@@GHOULRIBS I figure they could rotate it like the Spiral Abyss, and maybe with each rotation, we can earn a few primogems from it, to encourage people to play. Then when Sumeru comes out, we'll have more maps added to the rotation. They could always add more maps while we wait for new nations, or they could even somehow hold a contest for players to design Windtrace maps.

Sad that Springvale isn't one of the maps now. I have a great hiding spot there which I had a 100% success in winning based on my experience from the last Windtrace event. It's too high for the hunter to spam capture from ground level; low enough to be obscured by trees when the hunter is looking out from the roof of the windmill and houses; close enough to the barrier for the hunter to leave right after using capture once; and it's in a blind spot where players don't usually passby on a regural basis to remember that place exists.
Normally I would do the chimney hay bale strat in springvale.

Tips for windtrace:
Tall characters have a huge advantage due to them being faster when they sprint so if you're a rebel you should use tall characters to run away from the hunters and if you're the hunter use the tall characters to chase the rebels
(The children might have another advantage of being very evasive during matches but they are really slow because they are really small and they might run out of stamina a lot more)

this just happened earlier, so i was one of the rebels and the map was the one with orange fields with scarecrow, i thought that the water there was deep but its not so i got caught. then theres this one person who used xiangling. i didnt notice it at first (she was standing near the little girl at the small house) and they didnt got caught.

Yeah, I am definitely just in it for the rewards. I don't get the appeal of that game. It was a quick thing back then because they needed content and they didn't really improve the issues.
I finished my first game as a Hunter in 30 seconds and I felt so bad because I think I upset the other players
The fact the albedo is collecting the crystalflys feels so right to me
When I get caught I like to bump into the npcs to make them move, it weirds the hunter out when they see it lol

Tips for rebels
1) Got a small or very green character? Hide in bushes undisguised, it just works.
2) The high ground, gliding is a good escape method because it takes a while for the hunter to climb up.
3)If the favor falls down near the hunter, just run away from it as far as you can and maybe even glide since the box will trap u midair. Once i won because of this.
I always found some really good spot but the spot was far from the favor, but dang being a hunter is easier than I thought.

Team Trees actually the safest to me, you can glide down and escape immediately after realizing the hunter noticed you.
Waterfall supremacy ends when Hunter see your "wet" status 👉👈
Im an Itto meta Player, Itto is tallets character in game, which makes him the fastest, you cant outrun Itto as hunter and you can barely catch itto hider

Since the first minute of event, I havent seen someone using mona. But this day-to-day theres some ayaka. But yeah.. I love that waterfall meta😂

I don't really like hiding on this event. I always climb high places and made the hunter to follow me, then go back down. Run as fast as I could, climb up yet again while the hunter chase after me, deceive him/her by going back down, run again, made sure I lost the hunter, after he/she is looking for other rebels, show up again, repeat for eternity until the hunter give up
Yes I don't care whether I win or not as long as I have fun, can still collect reward by playing again and again so yes :D
Also i caught so many people using mona on the previous windtrace
The technique is that make them think you're looking for someone else
And just use someone who has the decrease stamina consumption when sprinting

Im always on a hiding spot where you cant get to that location easily or a really common place where people didnt realize gas a big chance of winning, it makes you invisible :)
The art of standing still is a very very rare case
First game I used diluc to camouflage into the big tree in ritou. The one in the center. The circular base is usually out of range from the Hunter
My first one on Dawn Winery, I could help, but meme with Albedo, by staying with the maids. I got caught instantly, but it was worth it. Also I normally go for trees or other hard to reach areas.

I’m the type who will see a theme of characters and will play to it. Like we had klee, kaeya, albedo, and razor and it was super fun and cute. Another time as hunter klee a qiqi just stood in front of me and I didn’t catch her and instead ran around her a bunch and a sayu came out of hiding to play. We hailed dead trees while hu tao was hiding. Windtrace is so much fun
I had the funniest game in windtrace where I just kept putting decoys in the orchid of the vineyard and the hunter kept checking each and every decoy cause I was the last rebel and he never got to the barrel I was cause I kept going back to a group of barrels instead of in the vineyard at the end of the loop.
I play the favorite character of my friends as hunter so they can feel being harrased by they crush lmao 😂 and they love it rofl

I play a character depending on location. But there was one instance where Ei was hunter (probably out looking for visions lol) so I played Thoma and managed to escape the vision hunt decree.
I'm super good at being a rebel, I just avoid obvious areas and nobody assumes, when they get a favour I just run until it wears off then I hide, I've been caught very few times, my favourite is at dawn winery, theres a wagon and if you turn into a lamp on it then they dont assume a thing

Bro, I remember playing at ritou, and I found a bush that was just tall enough so that hiding as a short in it will just completely hide you. The hunter was chilling in my area waht felt like so long, but I never got caught, even after the hunter used their favor.

I've never been caught on windtrace and the funny thing is that I never even transform, but my hiding spots are so high iq, that he never even finds me even with a favor
I always just pick Lisa (my main) and play tag with the hunter. I haven't lost a single time yet this time around. If they waste time chasing me at the start, sometimes they never catch me. If they do catch me, however, the won't win because the time is already too low

I walk around like the hunter isn't gonna catch me. I was playing with a noelle(hunter) once, we splashed in puddles until the timer ended
every time i got to be the hunter i would find one person and terrorize them. one person tried to run and i chased them without capturing them until the time almost runs out. 3 secs b4 the time runs out i captured them.
I was hunter and Rebels had 2 Klee 1 Qiqi, I just kept playing around while chasing them and let them win. Can't resist them when they keep going like "la la la~ *runs*"
So my friend and I were first timers.. And he literally said he's going to use Sayu to roll faster.. I'm dying
