One of the episodes made a stab at men criticizing their alleged "ego" and yet the rest of the Supergirl show talks about how awesome, strong, independent women are, and how women are better than men in every way. Its like the shows' writers don't actually understand the definition of an ego!

All these people saying Supergirl is stronger than Superman obviously don't know what they're talking about. Superman is the only descendant of the Kryptonian God Rao. That's why Superman is still considered "super" even when comparing him to other kryptonians (read "The Last God of Krypton"). Superman has the perfect Kryptonian genes its been stated in the comics before. Superman has complete mastery and control over his power while Supergirl clearly does not. Not to mention Superman is more experienced in hand to hand combat than Supergirl because of his training from Mongul, Wildcat, Batman and Wonder Woman. Seriously, show me any feats that proves that Supergirl is stronger than Superman. Lol you can't because you won't find any. Superman have accomplished more impressive feats than Supergirl. If Supergirl is more powerful than Superman then how come Wonder Woman defeated her with no effort? A situation in which she, or anyone else, could very well get seriously injured or killed and has to use human means to stop threats. Or something like that. It could've been good. She could learn some humility and mature as a person/hero. Could've been good if the show and star wasn't trying so goddamn hard to be a political mouthpiece on gun control.

The other shows are only doing good because they have good writers, but there is political leanings shown in the shows. At least with Arrow’s gun control episode, they showed both sides equally instead of bias like Supergirl does. Also, I only brought up Superman as he’s shown in Supergirl. The other iteration of Superman did pretty good, or so I’m told.

I think the difference between this and something like Watchmen or The Boys is that those are both stories with a message; this show is a message with a story. The story takes a backseat to the agenda, refusing to be subtle or clever with it and instead opting for strawmen, basic substitution (aliens = immigrants), attaching things said by real-life political enemies to villains in the show, and oversimplifying matters so that every answer is easy and devoid of negative drawbacks.

The person that Cat Grant is talking down and reading her gender manifesto to is an alien queen-turned-despot who very recently murdered her husband for the 'crime' of wanting to abide by their son's wishes to continue living on Earth. And, for all her ostensibly high-mindedness, the moment that she doesn't appear receptive to Cat's condescending tone, Cat responds by making a sassy insult about her crown, ending negotiations and getting Air Force 1 shot down by an alien laser. Literally the only survivors we see are Cat (who got sucked out of the plane and was caught by Supergirl) and the president, who is revealed to be a shapeshifting alien. So, to summarize: this harpy spits on the memory of the murdered king by implying that negotiations are totes possible since it's just _women_ that are present, prematurely end any form of negotiations and kickstarts an alien invasion while mocking the appearance of an alien warlord, and proceeds to show absolutely no regard for the dozens of lives that may not have been lost if not for her strutting into a conversation between an alien warlord and the POTUS. EDIT: Oh, and all the while, inspirational background music is playing, as if we're supposed to be surprised that the alien warlord wasn't swayed by Cat's speech.

I would like to say that I've grown up my entire life as a straight white male and I have no idea what it's like to be Black or gay or a woman but I do have to say I grew up with my fair share of struggles to because not only was I white and straight but I was also short fat and dyslexic my entire life I've been made fun of because I was shorter than everyone else and I didn't learn as fast so it really kind of sucks when even though I had to deal with all of that growing up I am told that I have privilege it sure doesn't feel like it

Well, as a black man, I can tell you that I don't feel privileged. But I also don't feel as oppressed as people pretend to be. I was also bullied by other black people, so this has nothing to do with skin color. I had depression and was suicidal, but again, nothing to do with the color of my skin. I don't know about the others, but that's my experience.

Who says that DC shows are better than Marvel? I have never heard anyone say that. Now comics and animated shows/movies, DC most definitely are better. Marvel has some good shows and some bad ones. Daredevil, the Punisher, and Luke Cage were good in my opinion, but I couldn't get past a few episodes of Jessica Jones, Iron Fist (both seasons) were pretty lame, and the defenders was rather boring as well for me.

Superman is fictional but could still kick Kara's ass because he's a muscular man, having lived on earth way longer than her, with I'd imagine decades of experience whereas she is a woman with a delicate frame and no muscles to speak of. Even if they're kryptonian he would still have an advantage over her.

In the comics she arrived later because she got caught in a orbit and "incubated" around a yellow sun which is what made her strong... At least in the comics.

All these people saying Supergirl is stronger than Superman obviously don't know what they're talking about. Superman is the only descendant of the Kryptonian God Rao. That's why Superman is still considered "super" even when comparing him to other kryptonians (read "The Last God of Krypton"). Superman has the perfect Kryptonian genes its been stated in the comics before. Superman has complete mastery and control over his power while Supergirl clearly does not. A situation in which she, or anyone else, could very well get seriously injured or killed and has to use human means to stop threats. Or something like that.
It could've been good. It would've forced Supergirl to look at the world from the eyes of a regular person that doesn't have the gift of being a friggin powerhouse on command. First off, CW has always owned the show. Secondly, there's nothing currently wrong with Arrow, The Flash, or LOT. Supergirl is literally the only cringey show in the Arrowverse. I would like to say that I've grown up my entire life as a straight white male and I have no idea what it's like to be Black or gay or a woman but I do have to say I grew up with my fair share of struggles to because not only was I white and straight but I was also short fat and dyslexic my entire life I've been made fun of because I was shorter than everyone else and I didn't learn as fast so it really kind of sucks when even though I had to deal with all of that growing up I am told that I have privilege it sure doesn't feel like it

Well, as a black man, I can tell you that I don't feel privileged. But I also don't feel as oppressed as people pretend to be. The one most racist thing someone has ever done to me was some guy at school that assumed I was from Africa. But honestly we were really young back then and he got scolded for that. I was also bullied by other black people, so this has nothing to do with skin color. I had depression and was suicidal, but again, nothing to do with the color of my skin. I don't know about the others, but that's my experience.

And it would make sense coming from him as that was a thing he did in the comic books as well. Closest we got was the gun control episode but no Supergirl had to make her own and it was even worse.

Who says that DC shows are better than Marvel? I have never heard anyone say that. Now comics and animated shows/movies, DC most definitely are better. Marvel has some good shows and some bad ones. Daredevil, the Punisher, and Luke Cage were good in my opinion, but I couldn't get past a few episodes of Jessica Jones, Iron Fist (both seasons) were pretty lame, and the defenders was rather boring as well for me.
Flash is much better imo. At least Season 5 isn't pure cringe like Season 4, so there's that.

In the comics she arrived later because she got caught in a orbit and "incubated" around a yellow sun which is what made her strong... At least in the comics.
