- 10 weeks self-isolating on a Portuguese farm - a van life vlog we never thought we’d make. Yet here we are, amidst a global pandemic. Even though we are far from our loved ones in Ireland & England, we have felt very much at home here. The Portuguese people have shown us nothing but kindness, making us feel safe & welcome in their beautiful country.
If you watched our previous Portugal vlog, you’ll remember how this all unfolded for us. We found ourselves in Lisbon when news of Covid19 began to emerge & become serious. There was anxiety & fear. At one point, we seriously considered doing a U-turn & driving Jitters back to the U.K. Having sought the advice of family, friends & our embassies, we decided to stay put. And we are so thankful that we did. It was by sheer luck that we managed to find a farm willing to take us in, nestled in the stunning Arrábida National Park. Our host João truly went above & beyond for us. Having such a beautiful place to stay, with access to the outdoors, nature walks, farm animals & surrounded by wildlife has been a true privilege. We hope you enjoy sharing this experience with us & that wherever this finds you, that you are safe & well.

When you said that about the sound of the goats going home in the evening it made me remember the Macaws flying out and back each day when I was very small in Puerto Rico. Every morning they would fly over our home in the Air Force Base in Ramey. In the evening, not long before dark, they would fly back to wherever they were roosting. Beautiful flock of colorfull parrots going home. Mom used to pull me outside in the evening to see them. She was from Kansas and believe me, they do not have flights of parrots in Kansas.
Loved your lockdown video, so interesting and Portugal is a lovely country. We spent a month Quarteira a couple of years and bought fresh orange from a local farmer most days when he brought the down to the road in his wheelbarrow. We loved the old guy but we didn't speak much Portugese but he cried when we told him we were going home but cheered up when we bought a whole barrow ful of oranges which we put in boxes and took home to our friends. Keep safe and keep the videos coming !!!

In my opinion, this is by far your best film I've seen since I started. The filming was extradinary - professional, in fact, as far as I'm concerned. The content wa so well put together. @@JitsIntoTheSunset I am interested in buying a campervan similar to Jits and just have a question regarding the petrol engine, would u recommend the petrol or advise me to hold out for a diesel as I am wondering is the petrol a lot less economical. Also I plan to travel alot on my own ( possibly with my dog for company) mainly in Ireland starting off. Is this safe or am I mad??🤔. Thank you both for sharing your journey, it is so inspirational ❤
