😂🤣😍
Me too 🤣
I like your first tip the best - I have brands that I like because I put functionality first, less because of how they look, but I admire more complicated styles I see on other people.
I think what I will do is study the photos I like and imagine what it would be like to wear what they are wearing and to see if I’d actually enjoy that, even if it looks nice.
Sad day for me.....I love your videos and wanted to binge watch today. I found out this is the only one I hadn't seen!! Love your channel!!
lol, congrats! You have seen all 57 videos. I plan to film today, so hopefully I'll get a new one up tomorrow, if all goes well. Have a good weekend!
Stumbled onto your channel a few days ago, and subbed right away. I really appreciate your perspective and presentation. It's nice to have someone who isn't big on makeup or accessories. I've been building my capsule/minimalist wardrobe for over 2 years, and your content matches where I'm at. And yes, those damn sandals or flimsy shoes - or summer-like holiday dresses when winter is a major thing where you are can be frustrating. This was very useful. This is something I'm working on - adapting is simple, but not necessarily easy.
Sonia Mallet I felt the same way when I came across her videos a few days ago 😊
Thanks so much! Yeah, apart from scarves because they serve a real purpose, I can't be bothered with accessories. I prefer sleeker, simpler looks anyway. Thanks again, and good luck with your closet!
Thanks!
Your concepts/suggestions can be applied to many ways of living. Thank you for succinctly explaining your viewpoints.
Strappy 4 inch sandals in the dead of winter! Yes!!! Never fails 😣 I often play dress up. It seems silly sometimes but it alleviates the stress of finding an outfit when I need one. I'm a fan of shopping my closet. I like your tips to change your bag, shoes, jewelry, makeup a hair etc to look more dressed up. It works! I have a foot injury and rock my sneakers like I meant to do that. Fortunately it's trendy right now lol.... Great tips and cheers 😊
Oh no! I hope your foot recovers soon. I've also noticed that, sometimes, when I think I need a change, I'll change my hair or get my nails done rather than dramatically change my wardrobe. So far, it does the trick for me!
Thanks. Best help I have ever gotten on this subject!
You have such a nice voice.
Thanks! Stupid invisalign makes me slur at times, but hopefully not too often.
“Ha, who wears make up?” 😂👍🏼
I sipped water whenever you said style in the video, oh man did I have to go at the end of this video lol
Minimalism and hydration!
Gotta stay hydrated
Hilarious 😂..style...style...style ....🍾🍹🍸🥂🍷. Excellent tips 🙌🏼. This video was perfect. Have a Merry Christmas 🎄 and a Wonderful Day. Aloha 🌺
lolol, thanks! I realized how much I said it half way through filming and decided to throw that into the intro. "Style," "taste," "aesthetic"... There are only so many words for it.
True story, I'm drinking a Blind Russian at the moment. I might just take you up on that challenge :)
Seriously though, these videos have been a great aid in helping me clear out my wardrobe. In defining my style (small sip) I came to realize I am dressing to showcase my tattoos more than anything...or dressing so my clothes don't clash with them. While I love boho style, all those colors don't compliment any of my art. I've pared down to solid colors, mostly blacks and grays (a multitude of shades of gray, but not quite 50) and sleeve lengths that expose more ink.
I did a quick count yesterday and ended up with just under 50 items, including everything but socks and those few items I did have to purchase to cover gaps left by my purge. Before I filled in those gaps, I was left with only two identical gray Henley t-shirts as far as upper body wear.
Oooo, I've never even thought about dressing differently when you have tattoos, probably because I have a crippling fear of needles, so I can never have them. Just from your profile image (of the koi), I would imagine solid black items would make the colors stand out the most, but idk what else you have going on. Come to think of it, most of the people I know with a lot of tattoos do wear mostly black or white. That is so interesting. I can't believe I haven't made the connection before. It makes sense--your tattoos are the visual focus, so you need clothing that can take a backseat. And congrats on paring down so much! I can imagine that with your particular style (sip) focus, you can probably get away with quite a small wardrobe.
I have one full sleeve, one partial sleeve (of tattoos) and a large chest piece, plus the back of one hand. There is a lot.
I've found that warm grays and a certain shade of celadon green look the best with the colors on my skin. Black is good, but sometimes too harsh (I look too much like a biker chick, IMO, which I am not) so there are a few cardigans and outwear items in black. And white against my already pale skin looks like I'm wearing my shroud.
I also have cats so gray is pretty much an amalgamation of all the colors of cat hair I could possibly attract. But it also seems that gray fabric is different from black or white...less cat hair friendly it seems. I can get a black shirt and a gray shirt from the same brand, and the black shirt acts like a Swiffer while the gray will remain more or less cat hair free.
I gave up sipping the Blind Russian and just drank it down, which accounts for the rambly bits above.
lololol, "the black shirt acts like a swiffer." As a fellow cat owner who wears a lot of black, I totally feel that. Don't forget to have a banana before bed. That always helps to prevent hangovers for me... a little, at least.
;) Thanks for the tip.
LOL..... drank a sip of wine for every 'style' comment and could only keep up till 00:51. Then I had to quit the game...... 🤣
I am not responsible for any hangovers.
I just counted my wardrobe 65, including bras and outerwear (hats and scarves) but not counting socks, I did count shoes.
There are a few items I won't hold onto. But ie, one of those items is a fleece footie pj....keeping that. 😂
That sounds incredible! Congratulations!
Vested Interests Thanks! I haven't counted socks, did you do that I n a video? Was it hard? Does it take up a lot of your count?
I also discovered i have 10 sweaters, but that half of them, are good for most of the season, while the rest are good for colder months.
What did you allow yourself.for sweaters? (I live in New England, and right now it's in single digits.)
You might have gone over that in another video, I'm new, and going through them all slowly, loving them all!
I currently have 50 items of clothing and 15 (it's bad, I know) pairs of shoes. I do not count loungewear, workout clothes, or undergarments. (Loungewear and workout gear fit into one regular-sized drawer and undergarments fit into a drawer about half that size.) Right now, I have 8 sweaters. I live in a warm climate, so I don't need many, but I also wear the same things over and over, so maybe I wouldn't need many if I lived somewhere cold anyway. If you watch my very first video, you will see the crazy number of sweaters I started with!
Vested Interests For shoes I have 3 pairs if flats (different colors, and one pair, on its way out) two pairs of jump boots, one to be tossed, the other to be fixed, complicated, but working on it.
One pair of snow boots, and one pair of rain boots.
On pair of sneakers.
I saw the number of sweaters! 😂 You're first video helped me a lot! Keep up the good work! You're an inspiration.

I am curious what is the environment you work in. I worked in corporate and always had to dress up to be notice for promotions and other perks. The people who were lay back were not noticed and sad to say ignored. I know it’s not fair but I truly believe you have to dress for the career you want to make money. I started as a file clerk and worked my way to the Managing Director Executive Assistant And when there was a need to filled in for CEO I was asked. I sincerely believe if not for my attire I would be left behind.
