    Interesting repair, handy for when I have to do mine. Thanks for sharing!

    There was a recall from Husqy for the muffler retention bolts. That is why your issue is unresolved. Fortunately for me my dealer installed the recall kit when the muffler bolts kept working loose. As I recall they added a bolt to total 3 instead of 2. This happened for me about 2006 A.D.

    The intake boot that clips together to hold it to the cylinder is notorious for burning up pistons and cylinders. The clip on the intake boot is not tight enough to make a good seal. They make a intake boot now that has a hose clamp that goes on it and holds it on tight you, might want to think about that before running it too long.

      @@fnaguitarplayer9 it happened to my 350. Ran lean because of an air leak and destroyed the piston.

    Intake clamp leak caused overly lean condition and stuck ring and scored piston and cylinder .You should remove plastic on clamp end and replace the snap clamp with a screw type.Don't cut off the pulse tit that enables the pump diaphram to operate.This saw will fail again unless you address this issue.Good camera work on what you did......

    The factory piston doesn’t last long because of the plastic clamp on intake, need a small with screw clamp 😊

    Thanks. I liked this saw and have the same failure -- due to 87 octane fuel combined with trying to do too much work on a big tree. This is, after all a harry homeowner unit, but like I say I like the saw and will do the overhaul.

      Your welcome, they are good saws. I like the feel of it and decent amount of power. I do think they are worth rebuilding when the time comes. I have only ran it once for like 5 minutes after making this video, its not even broken in yet! Thanks for Watching!!!

      @@fnaguitarplayer9 did you run it more? I wonder if an oem piston and are better than a whole new aftermarket kit. Someone on a review (might have been a different kit than yours) said the kit has 2/3 the power than the 15 year old worn out oem setup. But they probably did something wrong. You clearly know how to put an engine together !!!

      @@fnaguitarplayer9 I restore Husqvarna saws for a hobby now in retirement and these are a nice unit however the OEM parts are starting to get expensive now. The new right side clutch cover case cost me AU$125.00! About US$80.00. I must have a couple dozen saws now all looking very showroom in my home garage! All the best.

    Absolutely rough as guts repair job and 75 PSI is no good at all.. That saw needed a full teardown and complete rebuild incl new carb, plus other OEM parts. New Husqvarna bar and saw chain etc. These generally cost me a few hundred in parts to bring back to near new condition.

    What kind of oil do you use to lube the pistion and other parts?

    • @fnaguitarplayer9
      @fnaguitarplayer9  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would suggest using 2 cycle oil (like you put in 2 cycle gas mix) but I had some 20 weight oil I picked up real cheap and just used that, works pretty good. On bigger 4 cycle engines I'll use lucas or just plain motor oil to put them together with. Thanks for Watching!!!

    How to destroy your bottom end while doing a top end rebuild. Beat the wrist pin out with a hammer without supporting the connecting rod... goodbye crank and rod bearings...😔

    • @cobre7717
      @cobre7717 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pro tip: put fine sand in the crankcase. Make sure to fill up past the top of the bottom end bearing to help hold stuff stiff when you hammer on the wrist pin.
