Cybersecurity expert John McAfee sat down with Reason Magazine's Matt Welch at the Libertarian National Convention to discuss the anti-political themes behind his candidacy. Approximately 8 minutes.
He was not as hardcore a libertarian as Austin Peterson and he seemed more articulate and well spoken than Gary Johnson. Basically the “safe centrist” of the field. Probably wouldn’t have minded him as the nominee. But, as the below comments point out, if he had won and had been inaugurated, his presidency would’ve been the fourth-shortest in U.S. history. He fled the country in December 2018 before getting arrested in October 2020 and “killed himself” in prison in June 2021.

Don't get me wrong, I like McAfee, but not as much as I like Gary Johnson. Mr. Johnson is tested, and proven as a true fiscally responsible individual during his time as governor. Also, Bill Weld sealed the deal for me, because he has a great reputation like Mr. Johnson.

Compared to the other candidates, McAfee is the only one that has passion that you can feel in these interviews.
