This video did not age well. Monero lacks a very important property of money, and THEREFORE it cannot be money. It lacks "verifiability". McAfee doesn't understand the "definition of money". Privacy can be achieved with Bitcoin on the 2nd layer of money and , if you are careful, on the main chain as well.

@weebly Its piece of garbage compared to XMR. Monero is the likely successor of Bitcoin. It makes no sense to have public blockchain to store your value. Everyone can tell what addresses hold how many coins and literally track every transaction that goes in and out of those addresses... If you're BTC whale I'd be very careful because governments likely listen very closely to your addresses. With XMR you would not have this issue.
there is no use for bitcoin. as for scarcity, i have a picture of my family. only 1 in existence. zero value, scarcity or not. you require utility AND scarcity to have value. bit coin doesnt have both. you're trading air.
@@johnwilliams221 it has utility as a store of value. Scarcity is only one aspect. It also has divisibility, acceptability, portability, durability, and uniformity. Your picture frame has none of those, you aren't going to cut it into small pieces, nobody would accept it, nor pay for it to be transported, it would wear out after you sent it in the mail, and even though you might make other picture frames they wouldn't be worth the same as yours.
That was awkward!...Also not so long ago John was raving about bitcoin just like Jeff Berwick is to this day. I'm sure many people are scratching their heads.
Of course, he didn't add to the equation that it doesn't matter what and how it works if enough stupid people buy it, it has value, and more people buy it, want it, even more. That's it. It has nothing to do with features, it could be a bag of nothing, yet if people want it, it has value and a price.
Yeah, unfortunately alcohol is not known to have invisibility powers. But from what I gather he made a ton of money he didn't pay taxes for or something along those lines...
John: "Bitcoin is a piece of shit mother fucking crap...and the people are just trading it to make money not actually USING it, its going to ZERO!". Host: "So John..what EXACTLY are you saying?". Fucking hell!
I consider it wise to evolve ones perception on truths as time goes on. It's a reflection of one's continued pursuit of greatness. Not to be confused with politicians...
I don't think it's fair to say Bitcoin has no privacy. Bitcoin has privacy. It's the exchanges and all the systems built around it that make being private much more difficult but it's not impossible
@Eliazer011 about $61,000 so what? I just don't think McAfee is correct. Something is only worth anything because there's demand for it. But who really knows what the future holds? Demand for Bitcoin could dwindle to zero possibly but I personally doubt that will happen. Even Michael Saylor was an opponent of BTC at first. Until he'd done several thousand hours of his own research into the topic.
It will take time for Bitcoin to go to a few bucks again. Won't ever be zero. It is not a store of value and does not make transactions cheaper. If someone creates a digital currency that works for commerce it will be adopted.
He is 1000% correct. Bitcoin will be seen as the largest meem coin every. Thr bankers buy it to instil cofidence in buyers. Think about how they are buying it? They have customers paying for the derivitive 100's if times its price then they buy BTC.

John knew about the black projects from the military, I wonder what he knew about them.
Something that they suicided him for.
what is the black project

So thats why he suicided. Not because he openly stated he didn't like paying taxes - but he came up with a decentralised exchanges which would make it difficult for governments to tax Crypto profits. all makes sense now. RIP. He was certainly a character.=dont think I will watch any more interviews - but he did make one great speech about the power of cryptocurrencies.
You either have solid proof that he suicided or you are being sacartiic
There's no way in hell he suicided.
Is suicide a verb now?
Only taxpayers pay taxes, if you don't claim to be one they won't come after you for not paying. If you know you are a national with a citizenship instead of a citizen and stop asking for permission ie licenses to do everything as a citizen, then they won't call you a tax payer. Did you know that you can get a passport as a national instead of just a citizen? You can also operate an automobile with this passport and a diplomats plate only. They are only asking for an ID, not necessarily an admission to being part of their voluntary USA corporation club.
Legit felt bad for the guy interviewing mc afee, he got roasted badly😅😅😅
This needs to go Viral.
I'm willing to bet it's why he got Whacked.
7:38 haha most funy part XD
McAfee was always tweaked tf out 😎
This video did not age well. Monero lacks a very important property of money, and THEREFORE it cannot be money. It lacks "verifiability". McAfee doesn't understand the "definition of money". Privacy can be achieved with Bitcoin on the 2nd layer of money and , if you are careful, on the main chain as well.
Sometimes it’s fun to watch old videos on crypto. Good reminder to know that no one knows the future
Explain what's happens when the central banks buy up all the bitcoin with fiat currency. Then force you by law to pay bills, taxes, etc with the governments digital money.
🤦♂
@@AG-if8ic if you own Bitcoin it's price goes way up, you take out loans in cbdc against Bitcoin and never sell that Bitcoin. Then it keeps going up take out another loan to repay the last one.. keep repeating.
John on point and ahead of his time. RIP
RIP are you sure???
He may be on to something. Bitcoin is no real threat to cbdc but monero is. He really has a great argument for it to go to zero but most likely will drop to below 5,000 when the next financial system rolls out as bitcoin becomes a relic to the latest age of a.i. crypto that will be the true next generation in financial services. I thought he said bitcoin would reach $1,000,000 tho...
Yes he does get way too excited about his current views each time but you can filter out some important truths from what he's saying.
He's pulling a Constanza. Do the opposite.
@weebly but his right about Monero being private and the the transaction are not tracked but bitcoin you can see everything and governments can see it
Is he drunk 🤔🤔
@weebly Its piece of garbage compared to XMR. Monero is the likely successor of Bitcoin. It makes no sense to have public blockchain to store your value. Everyone can tell what addresses hold how many coins and literally track every transaction that goes in and out of those addresses... If you're BTC whale I'd be very careful because governments likely listen very closely to your addresses. With XMR you would not have this issue.
The value of Bitcoin isn't just it's use, it's the finality of it's scarcity.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
there is no use for bitcoin. as for scarcity, i have a picture of my family. only 1 in existence. zero value, scarcity or not. you require utility AND scarcity to have value. bit coin doesnt have both. you're trading air.
@@johnwilliams221 Bitcoin is currently worth well over $69,000. Your family photo - $0.
@@johnwilliams221 it has utility as a store of value. Scarcity is only one aspect. It also has divisibility, acceptability, portability, durability, and uniformity. Your picture frame has none of those, you aren't going to cut it into small pieces, nobody would accept it, nor pay for it to be transported, it would wear out after you sent it in the mail, and even though you might make other picture frames they wouldn't be worth the same as yours.
forgot to start the interview with the question "So John, how high are you right now?"
if it is a ponzi scheme then it is lasting long enough to make money
haha! good job holding it together when he was telling you to "wake the fuck up"

I'm laughing at John watching this 🤣 😂
well, he went to 0 first.

This is my fav John McAfee interview by far. Thank you!
Gave me new perspective on bitcoin forsure
The guy genuinely looked sad that John didn't validate his worldview by the end of the video. HAHHAHHAA
He makes some really good points
That was awkward!...Also not so long ago John was raving about bitcoin just like Jeff Berwick is to this day. I'm sure many people are scratching their heads.
He’s obviously trying to sell his shitcoin. Wonder what happened to his shitcoin…. Looks like it went to 0
I suddenly felt drunk after 3 minutes in ...
It's like a GTA radio station 😂
Don’t give me wrong. John McAfee was somewhat of a genius of our time. But he was wrong about bitcoin.
Of course, he didn't add to the equation that it doesn't matter what and how it works if enough stupid people buy it, it has value, and more people buy it, want it, even more. That's it. It has nothing to do with features, it could be a bag of nothing, yet if people want it, it has value and a price.
you have to do a review of this podcast bro. it was great!
Pretty sure he was drunk here, and every other interview I've seen.

John 2018 :Bitcoin is going to a million.
facts.... all of these billionaires are shills. do your own research and get in when the getting is good
I mean if before what brought Bitcoin value was the privacy and a few years later that is gone , is he really in the wrong for speaking facts?
I consider it wise to evolve ones perception on truths as time goes on. It's a reflection of one's continued pursuit of greatness. Not to be confused with politicians...

John 2018 : *Cryptos are* going to a million.

I don't think it's fair to say Bitcoin has no privacy. Bitcoin has privacy. It's the exchanges and all the systems built around it that make being private much more difficult but it's not impossible

What he says is true.
Well it's 4 years since McAfee made this video...guess what? Bitcoin is still $67,000 .
And how is right now?
@paulstone3590 well it's currently a store of value to the tune of about $60,000 dollars
@@paulstone3590 Bitcoin doesn't need to replace fiat to be worth something
4 lines of pure YT and 8 shots of whiskey later, this conversation began.
He is 1000% correct. Bitcoin will be seen as the largest meem coin every. Thr bankers buy it to instil cofidence in buyers. Think about how they are buying it? They have customers paying for the derivitive 100's if times its price then they buy BTC.
