  • I hope you never feel as though you have to struggle in silence. Individually, we might just be one voice, but together we can form a chorus of change. And, in any career field, always remember your worth. If you’re a model who has also struggled, model alliance is a great resource to reach out to (this can be done anonymously):

Thank you to everyone in the industry who has spoken out, and made this easier for me to come forward with.

It doesn't easily become viral because a lot of wealthy people are into it. Like Alexandria said, many models cant speak about it cus their career will be ruined. "Conspiracy theories" as media calls them about powerful people in modeling/movie industry preying on people and underage girls, isn't that far fetched
Anyone that was or is in a good position either in the movie/modelling industry knows about this, too many coincidences to not be true. We wont go public cus the same reason Alexandria didnt

    • @mikhail7863
      @mikhail7863 5 ปีที่แล้ว +27

Because she didn't say something new. Everyone knows, that the fashion industry is that way or even worse, as long as you're not a very famous supermodel. And the movie industry too as well as television. Many attractive girls (an boys too) are forced to sleep with someone to get promoted or at least to keep their jobs. That's terrible, but many people still think, there is easy money and fame there, so they go there anyway.

I can’t speak for others, but for me and many other viewers, we never judge you negatively on the way you speak. In fact, for many of us, we love how you speak, we love your humble and authentic personality, we love your 70s vibe and love for Stevie. We love Cooper and bathroom chats. Speak about what you want, when you want, and however you want because the majority of us will 💯 support you.
Update: now that I’ve watched the entire video, I just want to say you are an incredible woman!! I also want to say that just because others may have had “worse” experiences doesn’t take away from how traumatic, scary, dangerous, heartbreaking, and frustrating yours was. Sharing your experience doesn’t make this a “pity party” or a “privileged problem” it’s sharing how toxic mindsets can be to people in the modeling career, to society, and to anyone in a workplace with bigoted views. You are such a good kind person and that’s why we adore this channel. Stay you, stay strong, and I can’t wait to see how far you go. The sky is the limit when you are proud of who you are and have people on your side who appreciate you and your values.

My sister want to be model so bad and she somehow go in USA. And for us coming from very small country in Europe that's a huge succes. But you know she was just another model for them and she give up very quickly, but she met her husband. Alexandria thank you for your heartfelt video. I am not in the fashion business but your videos have been the inspiration for a heroine who is a high fashion super model in a series of novels I am writing, for over a year. You are an amazing person. I have learned a lot about the fashion industry and the life of models which I never dreamed of. All because of you. I just hope I can give the character the same warmth and humanity that you bring to the world. Some things I will do my best to portray; the disenfranchisement of models by agencies, the emotion of empowerment or lack thereof in situations, dealings with the emotional dilemma and terror of career versus safety and morals, Influence pedaling and professional clicks that enable bullying, plus all the wonderful nuances in language and detail around shoots. Hopefully, I will get right. Anyway, I say all this because just by doing what you are doing on You Tube, you have reached people in positive and powerful ways. You are confident and strong. You will succeed at whatever you want to do. I learned from courses on ‘who a person is being in life’ that the universe aligns with behaviors and actions you put into being with direct intention. So stand your ground, be the person you want to be, and paths will open for you.

I was feeling so anxious hearing you talk about the Brazil story. I'm SO sorry you had to go through something like that.
Regarding the "healthy" comment, I have to say that you are actually really brave acknowledging that. I was once at a fashion show and a very prestigious casting director called me fat (even though I wasn't there as a model and my weight was no one's business). A model that I was talking to, who probably thought I felt bad about being called fat like that, said that she loved my body and thought I looked great. The casting director laughed and said: well, if you ever look as healthy as she does, don't call me again.
And please, do not apologize for not speaking a certain way. If you actually tried to sound "smarter" (whoever says you are not smart because you speak a certain way should shut up), it wouldn't feel as genuine as this video did. Again, you are really brave doing this, because the nepotism models and the supermodels are not going to speak up at all.
I wish you the best in your career =)

The industry is so abusive to females. I worked as a Clinique counter salesgirl. Nothing like a model of course. BUT Clinique does hire a certain look. Anyway I was great at selling skincare. I had that flawless skin much desired. Blonde but my skin had a pink undertone and also tan deeply. I am putting so much discription on my appearance because its neccesary to understand. I got awards for my high sales and even won company vacations i was doing very well. Until i was involved in a car accident. I returned to work after 6 weeks and was told that i no longer had the look that represents Clinque. I had a scar now on my forehead that i did try to hide behind bangs and i stll hide it from insecurity. I also had a tiny scar the size of a tic tac on my chin. I was devastated. This was a job i was good at. I was earning a living and was independent at 20 years old. This was in the early 1990s. They did not even offer me another job doing something behind the scenes in the company. They just fired me. I walked out of there with my head low in tears. Idk if Clinique would still do something like this today. I pass by the counters of Clinque today and I see they still hire that same type of girl. A girl i used to be. It took me years to recover emotionally from the accident. What Clinique did to my self esteem was beyond damaging. This is how far the industry branches out with the abuse even a cosmetic sales girl is treated just for appearance not by my ability .

I looked them up a while back and she was listed as 5’6” and I remember thinking “how’d she even get on the runway”, but now she’s listed as 5’9”, but that’s just my crackpot conspiracy theory lmfao. You?" My "friends" tell me that i should switch to a less challenging course. My teachers always look at me like a "dumb blonde", they're all male so you can imagine how sexist the whole system is. Wow thank you for sharing your story.
Your old agency is literally revolting and are major pieces of shit. You’re really intelligent and it’s incredible that you were able to immediately see what was going on with those men. It’s clear that that was NOT right.

The situation they put you and your friend in is inexcusable . Thank god you were smart and you listened to your intuition and the uncanny, almost miraculous mistake the driver made by taking you to the wrong (right) airport and you finally and safely got out of there!

Bravo for speaking up. I watched the whole video. I ran two international modeling agencies in Tokyo. I was extra mindful of my models safety. Most of them were underage and it was their first time away from home and of course away from home and in a far, far away country. Thank you for making this video. It will help a lot of young models. Shame on your previous agency.

Anyone reading this, PLEASE research the following points:
    1. The BBC investigative documentary about the world´s most famous agency Elite. The journalist´s name was Donal McIntyre and I watched it around 2001. It´s now "erased" of course and Gerald Marie, the boss of Elite, was never punished (he boasted about having sex with the models in front of the undercover camera). Be aware that the same man was supermodel Linda Evangelista´s boyfriend and also accused by model Carré Otis for rape and starting her on cocaine.
    2. The agents take charge of everything for the aspiring models. The passports, the pay, the apartments and VISAs. They also behave like minders and will coerce the girls to attend parties under the pretence that "You´re there to be seen and make contacts" when in reality, the girls are being pimped out. These agents are only the first in a long line of predators that plan on abusing the girls. They are the lowest on the food-chain so to speak. The next are the agency bosses, the photographers, the bookers and the celebs invited to the catwalks.
    3. Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. And Jean Luc Brunel. Seen several times with the likes of supermodel Naomi Campbell and others. Ghislaine Maxwell, the socialite with Mossad connections, she used to entrap the girls for Epstein as they figured that most girls have their guard down when approached by a woman. She has now "vanished" since the scandal broke and several victims pointed her out. All while Epstein is supposed to have taken his own life (but nobody´s seen his burial or dead body photos on T.V).
    4. Research Victoria´s Secret and its former boss Leslie Wexner´s connection to Jeffrey Epstein. Ed Razek, the current boss and creepy looking dude is also interesting because there´s like NO info on him, which is strange considering the Internet era. Either way, isn´t it strange that these corporations and big fahion houses are mostly led by older, powerful men...many times with a criminal reputation.
    5. Really research supermodel Karen Mulder and her history. She once claimed on French T.V that she was abused since age 2 and groomed for the fashion industry but the French T.V deleted the original tapes and she was sent to a mental health institution (and guess who paid for her "treatment"? Yes, the Elite agency boss!). She claimed that the fashion industry is just one big cover for supplying girls for the elite politicians, businessmen, celebrities, police and royalty. Something that rings very true now in wake of the Epstein and prince Andrew scandal.
    6. Research Naomi Campbell, her childhood and journalist Tiffany Hertz´ feature about her shady connections and history.
    7. Look up the video of 14 year old Adriana Lima winning the Elite Look of the Year contest. The way in which the men on the panel are eyeing her and other little girls up. It´s beyond creepy. There´s also another video, about the Brazilian modelling industry, equally as creepy with 2- 9-year olds being recruited!
    8. Listen to Corey Feldman´s interviews about Hollywood and pedophilia. Both industries are deeply connected.

It´s weird to me how conditioned we are as a global society to speak up against what is considered "cool" to condemn. Yet here is this billion industry, the fashion and entertainment one, that FEEDS off people dreaming of a career within it and NO ONE...no one bats an eyelid at the CONSTANT reports of abuse coming from there. We like to think that we are such free people, speaking up against other cultures that seem so backward and archaic to us. But then we have this industry that chases girls as young as 13, that we know requires nude and lingerie shoots, that stands for anorexia and bulimia, that uses fur and that employs severely underpaid workers in the 3rd world. And no-one really speaks up against the inconsistencies. Instead, we are taught to idolise and follow these clowns making a name within this sick industry. We don´t react to the fact that these industries pay MILLIONS to anyone who makes a name there while the really important jobs (nurse, teacher, elderly-care, cleaner, police) pay less and less by each year plus has zero status. Then we wonder why society´s going to hell? Well, you get paid millions for kicking around a football or strutting in your underwear with some fake wings down a catwalk, rather than taking care of the elderly!

This is crazy. As a Brazilian model with more than 8 years of industry, I have NEVER been thru something like this in Brazil. Your agency was extremely irresponsible. I'm so sorry you had to go thru something like that and I can tell you for sure this was NOT a normal shoot in my country. I've been to unorganized shoots before in many countries, but never something like this. Many things off about all of this. Your agent sold you to an image job without your knowledge, that's what happened. This is serious.

You are brave and sweet ! women in their 20's are still naive . Thinking about things I did in this age - I am so lucky nothing bad happened . It is very important that you have made this video as a wake up call to other women in the modeling industry and not only - also women in general. I think the other model should also tell the story, I think you should go to the police . what huppened there was clearly criminal , this agency should be investigated
