Wow. I live in NC and have been to the transportation museum many times and seen the Whopper Hopper car many times. I had no Idea about this incident. Great animation as always CraftyFoxe!
I live in CA and have been to the Kramer Junction, California and see the BNSF, Amtrak And Union Pacific around in Twenty Mule Team Road and Highway 395 Railroad Crossing in Kramer Junction, Boron, California. I got a very important job to do, BNSF, Amtrak And Union Pacific is going to 60/70 MPH at BNSF Mainline Subdivision.

There was another train split in Florida millenniumforce caught it on camera it was a CSX train broke its knuckle loose and then it split it was the teaco energy train and it was three engines and the only thing that the teaco energy train had on it was hopper cars.

Millennium Force has a video of a CSX splitting a coupler and it got on the local news. It happened right in front of him.

This once happened 10 miles from me. I caught NS AC44C6M 4004 leading ns 11z southbound. 10 minutes After it passed me I heard on the scanner that the cars snapped apart from the engines. I was speachless.

Over in Dickinson, the rail yard has a fork at the end that transitions to mainline just past the level crossing. Engine 1988 and engine 1442, the yard engines, have to pull freight cars out of the yard and shove them back in to get them on the proper siding. This leads to a train running almost all the way out of the yard... and backing up. While I enjoy watching the shuffling of freight, it becomes annoying when I'm in a hurry.

Yeah that happened here in Gothenburg Nebraska and there's a fire that destroyed grain elevator causing it to fall down killing six people and 48 were injured this happened four years ago though so don't need to worry

whoa whoa whoa how is the conductor doing hand signs to the engineer when one: the conductor is on the conductor side not the engineer side, he is also too far away for anyone inside the cab to see his hand signs along with the fact that they never took the cars away for a replacement coupler instead it just magically fixes itself and they can couple back up wtf???! lol but other than that great animation love it

When I saw this video I thought it was the train from Florida when it decoupled in the middle of the crossing and this was also CSX

normally if a knucle breaks, the crew onboard would just be able to fix it and continue on. No emergency service is needed (You didn't need the fire engines there unless there was a larger issue such as a fire, or a major derailment).
it is based on a real incident where firefighters responded
@@CraftyFoxe Oh, that's weird. Normally if a knuckle breaks, the driver (Or part of the onboard crew) just goes and fixes it.

This happened In my hometown in NJ it was a normal day when a train came through on the river line and snapped in half and came to a stop blocking all crossing for my town and the next town over only way to cross was to travel two towns down and go around or go the other way travel a town down go to the edge of that town and then cross over on a bridge it was a mess the train was there for the entire day

Can I just ask. How did the back cars stop? There was no back engines. All tho I enjoyed this I just wanted to point that out.
The way trains work is, there is an emergency air brake system connecting every railcar with a hose, if air pressure is reduced, then the train automatically stops itself
