My journey...Seeking, asking, and knocking. Desire to be free and live a joyful life. Spiritual growth, learning and curiosity about healing, desire for freedom from past trauma, self awareness and self compassion, writing my feelings, prayers, desires and frustrations. Friendships and accountability, volunteering and serving others, adding more fun and adventure to my life. Don't give up on yourself. Praying for everyone here ❤
For years we have been told not to speak publicly about AA. Thank you for changing that. It was keeping the information from people that needed it to live and thrive. ❤
Overthinking is not classified as a formal addiction like substance abuse or gambling, it can exhibit addictive patterns and behaviors. Overthinking refers to the excessive and repetitive thinking about a particular issue or situation, often accompanied by negative thoughts and anxiety. It can become a habitual and compulsive behavior that individuals find difficult to control. Similar to other addictions, overthinking can create a cycle of dependence and reinforce negative patterns of thinking. The more an individual engages in overthinking, the more it becomes ingrained as a coping mechanism or a way to gain a sense of control. Over time, it can negatively impact one's mental well-being, productivity, and overall quality of life. Some common signs and symptoms of overthinking include rumination, incessant worrying, difficulty making decisions, analyzing situations excessively, and feeling overwhelmed by thoughts. Overthinkers may also experience physical symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, and insomnia.
Thank you all,, Gabor Russell and Tommy. Thank you from my heart to yours. I totally agree with you. However I have totally fucked up my recovery and have a mountain to climb, Please pray for me,
Hey there, fellow addicted person. I want to tell you that YOU are right where you are supposed to be. That's your mountain to climb and one day you will own it. I've been sober from hard drugs since 2018 and man, I struggled. I had scrambled my brain with amphetamines and I had to deal with the memory loss, body pains from not sleeping, eating, or drinking for days at a time. My whole body hurt. I had to get good enough to just get back to work. I found........Kratom. it was my savior. It numbed my body ache. Enhanced my mood. Gave me energy. ...... it also would make me sick if I took too much. In 2022, 4 years after quitting amphetamines, I noticed that my 🧠 was back online. My body had quit hurting and even felt better than before the relapse. Yeah.... I said it. Relapsed. I used to work in a bar and had been exposed to amphetamines back in 2003 or 04 or 05 and did it til 2011. My point is, that I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN and Have an idea of how you may feel about yourself.. when you say that you fucked your recovery up. Every day is a new day. And it is very simple what we must do. Make the same choice to stay sober or to quit overeating, or using kratom, or watching porn, or stopping to spend 6 bucks a day on a coffee at the ☕️ house. I quot pot by waiting to lose weight and to make healthier eating choices. Choose to be healthy and to treat yourself like a baby (something that depends on you for its survival) To care about ourselves so much that we would not dare POISON ourselves. I am on my way up the mountain, and I still struggle. Pretend that you see me ½ way up the mountain. When you see someone else doing it, it gives ya hope. You know that it is possible. I see you at the bottom of this mountain. Get your boots on and come. NOTE: I hope I don't seem like I am preaching to ya or telling you what you need to do. I still struggle with behaviors. Impulsive purchases. Kratom. nicotine. Blah blah fricking blah blah blah! I'm grateful that I never got a criminal record while using. And I hope you didn't either. Anyway...... I see you, man. You are worth it ❤ Never quit quitting.
You can do it again mate, trust me on that one. If possible eat mostly fruit, veg, nuts and beans when you are recovering and I guarantee it will be so much easier. Celtic salt in water if you can't eat helped me massively too
You got this! One step at a time brother, and if you feel guilt or shame don’t let them consume you and send your further down the mountain. Process those feelings and let them go and realize things happen and sometimes we find ourselves back at the base of a mountain or sometimes we catch ourselves while were falling or about to fall. Just because you’re at the bottom of a mountain doesn’t mean you fucked up, its all apart of the process and maybe you will learn something new on this journey. Some times when I find myself teetering on the edge of falling or on the bottom, I realize that the habit I stopped is not nearly as bad as it used to be and that I’m making progress. Give yourself some credit brother, strive for progress not perfection. Keep your head up and if your ever feel stuck on your way up to the top, don’t forget to stop and look back to remind yourself how far you’ve come and how tough but beautiful the journey was and is. And don’t forget to learn something new🙏🤝 you got this shit!!
Thank you. Your platform has helped me reach out for help and start my journey to recovery. Russel and Gabor your messeging has helped bring me back to myself.
Half way through and im in tears.... im on my step 1.... tried a few times before, but obviously, i wasn't being honest to myself. Time for change. That's the truth. Thanks for this
Yes, internet addiction, that seems huge today. Especially smartphone addiction. People use them all the time! I will try to cut down on internet usage or at least be mindful of potential addictions.
I used to shoot up cocaine, been sober for 6 months. I'm into Hinduism now, meditation has helped me how to identify my addictive behaviors, identify my emotional responses and identify the way my mind behaves when I feel impulsive.
:3 Fresh interviews. Gabor Maté and Russell Brand. One kid on 10 antipsychotic pills. It's a trend in America. Lol. It's sorta hilarious to think how awful it is that most adults in America succumb to Big Pharma's manipulative, money hungry tactics. A lot of people walk around, especially if their political party puppet is in power, and try to say the system is just fine. They don't think their system is to blame, but that it's the kid's fault for feeling these things. It's just "genetic" breakdown to them... Even though genes don't change like this in a 💯-year span. The rates of these cases are rising. Absolutely impossible that it's genes. Yet, the average American is not that bright when you talk to them. Most have a reading comprehension under 9th grade, according to statistics. Many parrot what others say, especially about politics, man-made religions, and debunked material atheism dogma. 1 in 3 Americans have sleep problems. Only about 9% of Americans get enough fruits and veggies a day. About 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. America has the most suicides of any first-world nation. America spends the most on healthcare, ironically as the only first-world nation that doesn't want to accept healthcare is a human right (because GDP is more important than health to American-styled capitalism). Almost 50% of Americans are obese. About 75% of Americans are fat. Plenty are morbidly obese. Most don't exercise. Most are on some sort of drug other than caffeine. Most have financial issues. America has the most homelessness of any first-world nation. It has the largest prison system of any first-world nation. About 25% of the world's prisoners are in America, it's overcrowded there, and many of the dumb right-wing say the left release prisoners earlier these days without addressing the fact that there isn't much room left to abuse people in these systems. The prison system makes people worse. America normalizes school shootings by not putting strict gun control, and not guarding very vulnerable areas. Money is what is mostly guarded, not schools, not malls, etc. The radical trans agenda. The radical Christian agenda. FEMA Camps. ICE Camps. Exposed abuse in those camps. Signs that say to not let people escape the FEMA Camps. Train tracks running near them. Coffins found by the FEMA Camps. Playgrounds in the FEMA Camps. ICE Camps abusing people, and even Black American military has been sent there for abuse. The list goes on. Imagine being on 10 antipsychotic drugs because adults said it's normal. I'm surprised the kid just doesn't kill himself/herself. In their mind, might as well kill themselves. If they're this broken that they need 10 drugs of the same type of drug in their system (all antipsychotics) in order to be so-called "normal"... If reincarnation exists, maybe just kill oneself, and see what the dice rolls for the next time. Hopefully they choose parents outside of America, and learned their lesson (as they say we choose our parents). If reincarnation exists, and I choose parents, I'm not choosing America ever again it seems, and I wouldn't choose Arabic nations, North Korea, China, and I would avoid Africa, too. I'd prefer to skip Earth all together, and more preferably be the alien species that either saves or wipes out humanity. I'll just have to see what happens later on, whenever I biologically die. Lol

Goodonya Russell. Years ago I had a minister who reconned the aa 12 steps n general overcomin were an incredible example n type of dealin wth our human nature, learnin to overcome!
Getting sober from alcohol 11 years ago really changed my life. I don’t have a deep spiritual attachment to anything but I do practice yoga which is my meditative practice ❤
Still struggling with Russell using 12 steps promotionally. And I genuinely haven't met too many active addicts who could follow his wordiness. Much as I adore him. If I'd had to in my early days I'd have been a write off. Simplicity is key. And leading by example.
Ditto. 12 steps never seemed to work for me. Couldn't stand it while in rehab. Discussing the same things over and over again. I understand the purpose of AA, but personally didn't benefit from it that much. And I know that it helps people feel understood and supported, which is great. But I don't want to talk about my addiction and issues constantly. Just wasn't for me. But a lot of people like Russell Brand swear by it, Stevo does as well, like it's some magical cure which is ridiculous considering the fact that the success rate is so low. But what else are they supposed to say? I mean 12 step is the standard treatment for addicts in any rehab, nothing really has changed in the last 50 years. Which should tell you a lot.
I'm an addict I don't have money to pay for these things! But found this very moving and interesting and would love to get clean from heroin and crack and pharmaceuticals xc
Good luck on your journey, you can do this, and trust me I know how hard it is, hardest but most rewarding thing I've ever done from same drugs you have mentioned, don't give up on yourself, your worth it 😊 x
After 24 yrs of being married to someone with a self medicating problem I surrendered after his last relapse. Compassion I always had, working Alanon , therapy, most importantly believing in him . For me surrender was a new beginning @ 72. I still listen to these most informative videos & pray that he will find them too & live a life of authentic being. Grow into health my friend. TY with reverence for your work here gentleman 👍🏻
So good to this openness to surrender to our higher power. ❤️ Love yourself. Forgive yourself.Forget yourself. It's a journey for the one that wants help.
I only knew of Russell Brand from conservative media and labeled him. I never listened to him. He was on Shawn Hannitty. I instantly respected Russell. Thank you Shawn, thank you Russell . Listen to people not what people say about people.
Just about to watch this and am very much looking forward to listening. It is one one of the areas I specialise in and have done so for almost 20 years. One thing has struck me immediately and that is all three of the 'experts' are men. There are women out here who are also 'experts'... Liz Martin MSc MBACP AP APM
How can you have compassion without enabling them? Addiction makes you very good at manipulation! And what about when you actually need your drug of choice to get up in the morning. When someone that's been drinking for a long time and decides to quit, they get real sick. I gave up alcohol 19 years ago and I watched the love of my life slowly kill himself with alcohol and now my son is battling alcohol addiction. 💔😭 I went through college and university for social work and I can't help my son 😭💔
Trust that he is on his path. He is still finding himself, and this is a part of his journey. Be as supportive as you can be, and remind him how much you love him.
Valentin even told his mate today twice his friend in Canada was right to say doing a Master's thesis was a waste of time. Valentin kind of likes you and cares about your opinions
I thought about going back on Percocets especially now thinking because I barely have food to last me over a month and percs use to take my appetite away which I can use right now anyways especially since I'm losing weight but would like to faster by at least 8 pounds for 6 more months. I want to lose 48
Dude you need Alan Watts lectures and books and Wayne Dayer if I spelled out this right plus those specific guys book's could lead you to more people that already died but was quite cool 😎🎉😂❤
I'm actually shocked by this.. I understand how it can be worked around every area in life but capitalising on it goes against the very traditions that formed the fellowship and has kept the fellowship the way it is for as long as it is, press, radio and films it says clearly and I just feel the very foundation is at stake if this all changes in a big way, just my opinion
'You leave out DEMOCIDE ( defacto gov ruling by force, violence and threat of violation) ... healing isnt only about self awareness of behaviour et al --- it is about self respect - first and foremost
If you can compassionately detach from judgement, you may be able to see that while Brand is no scholar or degree holder, he is a genius, and has the personal experience of overcoming addiction. To me that earns him a seat at the table.
correction(s), like political correctness and other social engineering - is to pacify (as with drugs) and coercing the targeted individual in order to force them to comply - clearly the top down domination is not helping
please research gabor mate's position on mandatory medical procedures and then consider whether you want to trust him for any guidance on any other issue.
That is my one issue with Mate as well. His compassion and usual larger cultural, systemic perspective was seemingly dissolved by the medical tyranny propaganda. Yet, we all have feet of clay. His offerings otherwise are still priceless.
my opinion is that i would not trust mate because if intelligent suspicion and research and even just personal bodily autonomy are reduced to trauma, then mate might just be blinded by his personal trauma. i cannot begin to comprehend what he went through and i am deeply sympathetic. But he is presenting himself as a reasoned doctor who should be trusted giving people advice. This issue cannot be ignored. He sees the a world that if not entirely is motivated by trauma, a big part is. He must address it loudly and often that he was wrong about the injection or he must be ignored.
I'm curious then... what brought you here? I'm here because my life is a bit (ok alot) of a mess. Not that I was happy with my life before, but fate has put me in a stressful, and vulnerable state (loss of job, and loved one - two days in a row).
Society is not pushing people towards addiction. Our open western societies offer many possibilities and choices. Some people make the wrong choices, in fact we all do sometimes. The key is to take personal responsibility, pointing the blame at "society" is just a common excuse for personal failings.
"western societies" are capitalistic societies. In capitalist societies businesses have a massive incentive to addict (aka create long term customers)! people to their products. They have an incentive to manufacture needs (aka marketing) to drive people towards addiction. Western societies are literally designed to promote addiction and the companies who do it the best, become the most powerful companies - gaining more power to do it even better.
True, there is the giver and the taker.. But it is so important to be aware, that there are interests in getting people addicted and controlled. That is just a sick part of society, but it is okay right now. It is now, but also it does change at the moment. So thankful for those videos - stay aware, stay woke. ❤️
Modern western society most definitely pushes people to addiction. You’re apparently not studying societies over even the past 100 years much less the past couple thousand and the differences among the hundreds of different societies/cultures that exist today. Taking personal responsibility is a completely separate issue - absolutely required for health, but irrelevant to the accurate statement that we live in a sick society. The coping mechanisms people use to survive it almost always include addiction with hopefully also an evolution to healthy coping mechanisms centered on spiritual fulfillment.

Russel, a lot of long term users are listening to you! You are an amazingly person, but the dialect and vocabulary is so unnecessary, we understand you are very articulate, you don’t need to speak like that, and I just wonder how many “crack and smack heads” you lose by using words that need normalising by chat gbt for a a large percentage of what I would of thought, given the subject audience. No hate 💙

I’ve worked helping Dr Mate in the Downtown East Side of Vancouver …
Thank you for introducing me to Tommy. The breath work felt so good.
Goodonya Russell. Years ago I had a minister who reconned the aa 12 steps n general overcomin were an incredible example n type of dealin wth our human nature, learnin to overcome!
Thank you, thank you.... Dr. Mate. And thank you, Tommy.
Thank you Tommy I was really into chanting before my relapse. I had emotional issues that effected everyone around me
Such a nice way to spend a morning
Getting sober from alcohol 11 years ago really changed my life.
I don’t have a deep spiritual attachment to anything but I do practice yoga which is my meditative practice

Still struggling with Russell using 12 steps promotionally.
And I genuinely haven't met too many active addicts who could follow his wordiness. Much as I adore him.
If I'd had to in my early days I'd have been a write off.
Simplicity is key. And leading by example.
@@gwhyborn It is actually a simple program by design.
And thanks for the offer but I am recovered and continuing on my spiritual path.
😉
On Russell's podcast he is bordering on QAnon crazy. I can't believe anyone would put him on the same platform as Gabor Mate.
Well of course he will promote the freemasonic 12 steps. Anything to avoid the one true God and keep everything about vague "spiritualism"

I watch too much YT looking for world saviours. I didnt realise I was doing same as an addict
that little dopamine shot...
Thc helps tremendously
Breath!!! 💡 OMG!!!
Thank you ever so much for this insight. 🙏
After 24 yrs of being married to someone with a self medicating problem I surrendered after his last relapse. Compassion I always had, working Alanon , therapy, most importantly believing in him .
For me surrender was a new beginning @ 72.
I still listen to these most informative
videos & pray that he will find them too & live a life of authentic being.
Grow into health my friend. TY with reverence for your work here gentleman 👍🏻
Doc speaking straight facts👏🏾
Thank you
Brilliant guests!
So good to this openness to surrender to our higher power. ❤️ Love yourself. Forgive yourself.Forget yourself. It's a journey for the one that wants help.
Thank you Russ if i can call you that? Feeling a bit emotional rn and thats new. Think i just did my unique step one. Thank you is not enough.
Thank you Russel and Dr. Gabor. Your teaching has helped me to help others to start their journey to recovery from addiction.
LOL, the "doctor" is clearly a DRUG ADDICT and continually PUSHES the use of ILLEGAL DRUGS.
I only knew of Russell Brand from conservative media and labeled him. I never listened to him. He was on Shawn Hannitty. I instantly respected Russell. Thank you Shawn, thank you Russell . Listen to people not what people say about people.
Hyper sensitivity, overthinking, using substance to slow things down and take a break from thoughts.
i’m in excruciating suffering pain especially to do with my trauma and addictions sex addictions ect and many other addictions
Early crew :3 Hehe. Fellow vegan, fellow centrist, and fellow non-religious brother, Russell Brand.
I love you all. Prophets.
You cant fix the problem completely by yourself but maybe you can still help on some level
Trust that he is on his path. He is still finding himself, and this is a part of his journey. Be as supportive as you can be, and remind him how much you love him.
That's the goal the ones in control want us dependant on them
Valentin even told his mate today twice his friend in Canada was right to say doing a Master's thesis was a waste of time. Valentin kind of likes you and cares about your opinions
thanks for the advertisement for products
Gotta admit it is a great advertisement-imo.
But yeah, I was thinking the same thing. They all have something to "sell" us here.
I like how, Russel decided to be sitting alone infront of the camera, so we can listen better.
Your past becomes your greatest asset.
I thought about going back on Percocets especially now thinking because I barely have food to last me over a month and percs use to take my appetite away which I can use right now anyways especially since I'm losing weight but would like to faster by at least 8 pounds for 6 more months. I want to lose 48
Struggling to concentrate whilst music is playing?
What's compassion?
Why does habitation begin? Which leads to addiction...perhaps we are covering up past attachments?
Dude you need Alan Watts lectures and books and Wayne Dayer if I spelled out this right plus those specific guys book's could lead you to more people that already died but was quite cool 😎🎉😂❤
The world is already together, the only particle that is not together is humanity!!!
id tone down the music volume here a bit pal :)
So someone shared with you but you sell it? You just monopoliesed breathing that could save someone's life. Way to live the program
Is there no alternative to 12 steps

Finding myself and what's inside is the fundamental idea of GOD which is in every man woman and child. May you find him now!
You smart guys are so funny!, but it's an hour? Can't hang around. Here's the answer to all things. If you're seeking the answer be thankful.
'You leave out DEMOCIDE ( defacto gov ruling by force, violence and threat of violation) ... healing isnt only about self awareness of behaviour et al --- it is about self respect - first and foremost
Cannot believe you put Russel Brand in the same league as Dr. Gabor.
I like drugs. And beer. I've survived this long and enjoyed them all, and I'm in better health at 65 than a lot of people half my age.
I'm curious then... what brought you here?
I'm here because my life is a bit (ok alot) of a mess. Not that I was happy with my life before, but fate has put me in a stressful, and vulnerable state (loss of job, and loved one - two days in a row).
Is it society pushing people to addiction?🤔
It is better to tell the truth.
What is society and what is people?
Not me man, my brain is too strong. And I prefer ANY reality to the fantasy of drugs.
Mate comes across at times with things he says as if he is Eckhart Tolle. Yup the one listening to your inner voice is the real you.
Please release me from the devil’s cleft hoofs

O.o Fresh interviews.
Lol
No hate 💙
If we are a human being? What is an elephant going to be responding to this.
Russel talks too much. Massive ego.
