Linklight returns to the workshop for Rivals of Aether which gives you access to custom new characters or mods! In this video I check out Chara from Undertale. They have some serious power and were made by Sai, so I was not surprised when I saw the pure power.

Chara and Kris are not related to each other for clarification.
Also, Chara says “what does your down special do” because a lot of people were very confused by Kris’s down-special seemingly doing nothing. It costs TP to use, and even then it just gives stat boosts, so a lot of people thought it did nothing.
Also it's called courage and you can't use it when fighting Chara because they embodied fear

There is some relation, in that Kris appears to be a direct counterpart to Chara in the deltarune universe, in that both were adopted by the Dreemurrs and had Asriel as their sibling and closest friend.
Chara's and Kris' similarities:
1. Shirts.
2. Dreemurr family.
3. Chocolate - one true love.
4. Knife is a good and useful thing.
Edit: 5. Doesn't really like humans and would like to be a monster.
6. Can act kinda cruel to a close people sometimes.
@@mr.monotonyofdiversity2573 I don't remember seeing Kris disliking humanity, neither acting cruel towards people (Snowgrave isn't kris, even Noelle said that there's something different with them and that their voice is also different)
My favorite thing about Chara is the 'funny guy' skin plays Megalovania when you land a hit
It also changes up-b to a bone and your counter to a Gaster-Blaster.

Also the "Bed Lump" costume plays music while you move
the reason why Chara feels so OP is because Chara is, by definition, a glass cannon character
hits hard, but dies easily, which is why their recovery isn't that good
also fun fact: the stun you're in after a missed counter, is still actionable, making it actually, a great mix up tool even when missing it
Well i mean almost all of sai's characters are pretty op compared to most other characters

@@tacodude83 From what I've seen, Sai's characters aren't really OP compared to other characters in the workshop.
They mostly feel good to play.
their recovery is very good imo. she does everything and does a lot of damage which is why i think she is op

Before filling the meter, you can tell when you have a final smash by the smash ball, if the horizontal line is thicker than the vertical one, its a fake smash ball, which takes place when you have no final smash, the fake smash ball explosion doesn’t effect the user

Literally just completely wrong wording entirely.
Fun Fact : Chara has interactions with characters like Kris in the "Rude Buster" Stage.
Also Down B used to be a Gaster Blaster counter and Up B was a Bone I guess they got Changed because to make it feel more distinct from Sans as possible
(especially Down B)
Fun fact: Chara's up and down specials used Sans's bones and gaster blaster in the past. At some point the mod creator changed it.

10:06 I feel like that's pretty unfair to say when based only on fights with CPU players. Chara is high risk high reward, but CPUs can't actually really take advantage of those risks. Players, on the other hand, most certainly can.

The fact that Chara has so much hitstun on her tilts and aerials makes it very hard to approach a spammer, making the CPU a formidable opponent. I had a lot of fun with the Kris vs. Chara matchup because of how challenging it is to play

Toby directly said that he did not specify the gender so that the player can himself imagined/headcanoned the right one, not because Frisk and Chara are genderless story-wise or something like that. I think Chara-girl slightly more popular in fandom (because all that horny male gamers and stuff, at least according to popular opinion. Imho its just much more bi/lesbians amongst female gamers) but Chara-guy is cool too.
Also now Kris kinda took place of male Chara, so its another reason to view Chara as a girl.

This move consumes TP (Tension Points) over time and buffs damage and defense for Kris while making him heavier.
I guess Chara is trying to say Kris doesnt have enough COURAGE or isnt brave enough to face Chara.

And in this one, well its pretty simple ralsei is similar to asriel (kind of)so it makes sense why chara says that they like ralsei *already* or because this ralsei is a savage and is very aggresive with his weapons so i guess chara just likes beings that bring destruction or something
I think the Kris Down Special thing is a workshop/rivals community specific meme because apparently one of the most common questions about Kris back then was what their down special did since the mechanic wasn't obvious to everyone at first.

So even before this video came out, I mained Chara in rivals and still do! I had to figure out all of Clara's attacks and how they all worked. All I'm saying is, Chara is fun to play.
