Hey Reiss, I've been using your practice hub map a lot recently, and I'm loving it, but one thing I dislike is how in the drills where you shoot a bot (wall replace, piece tunnels ect), there is no time after hitting your shot to do anything. I feel this is bad as it teaches bad habits like not resetting your build after you take a shot, and also goes against the shoot-piece-shoot idea that you and DestinysJesus often preach about and a lot of pros use. If you were to include in the next update an option to increase the bot health so you can go for longer, or a small delay after you kill the bot that would be epic.
1:11 can be fixed with just binding ur "Place Buids" to something else along side left click, for example mouse button 5, by doing this u can place builds and edit at the same time with edit on release on which makes u faster by around 25%. This was found by Slyjack, i will not take any credit for this, i have been using this exact thing for like 7 months now and i edit and build as fast as tier 1 pros and have earned before as well.
I just wanted to mention that with edit on release enabled, your builds won’t place any slower as long as you don’t pull out your shotgun beforehand. You might think it takes extra time to pull out your shotgun again after piece controlling, but in reality, the difference is hardly noticeable. Overall, enabling Edit on Release only makes your edits about 2 milliseconds slower due to the fact that when you place builds the delay isn't as much as it is after editing.
1:59 - I got around this by binding 'place building' to right-click. It made my editing way faster since I can just hold down right-click and tap left-click for edits. The only downside is that sometimes it gets awkward when I accidentally aim down sights with my shotgun, since that’s also bound to right-click. Edit: I just realized he bound his 'select tiles' to right-click, which is basically the same type of bypass.
03:30 if you try it the other way arround (right click for place builds but keep ur edit button left click) instead of auto ads you just auto shoot. So no point of trying this that way aswell
Is it possible to right mouse place build, hit f to enter edit, left mouse select tiles and release to confirm, already be holding down right mouse to place the next build?
5:54 for less input delay you have to bind your mouse button (M5) to the keyboard key you want to edit with (F) it is triggered somehow differently when it is set via the keyboard software than just putting the keyboard key on the mouse
3:10 I've actually gotten this bug on controller before, multiple times in fact. I had no idea how I'd be able to report that sort of thing, but I'm glad I wasn't the only one that's had this happen ;-;
@@Sanchi-k1n A rather abrasive conclusion, and the solution is quite shallow. First of all, a problem of little significance doesn't warrant such a huge action like replacing the controller altogether. On top of that, it's already proven that the controller is not the problem, given the fact this problem happens and still does happen on kbm. The conclusion for reason leads to the fact it's a mechanical problem in how the game works, not a physical hardware issue. All in all however, I think a small issue that can happen to anyone, and quite frankly has only happened to me about 3 times when practicing, isn't something to conclude with "taking the L". I'm just enlightened by the fact such a problem wasn't occurring on my end, but rather it's a problem with how the game reacts. Personally I don't anticipate any change towards this bug, as epic is notorious with leaving some stones turned to put it lightly when it comes to fixing miniscule bugs, such as the one that was pointed out.
Not sure if someone else has said this already but... U can still confirm edit with ur edit bind when u have edit on release ON. So by having it ON u can actually do both methods of confirming an edit.
A setting that could have all the benefits would be to add edit on release but instead of releasing your left click it would work with your edit key. Of course you would have to use a key you can use while moving but you should do that anyways
Thanks for the video! I like the neutral game that editing adds to this shooter game, so I'm switching back to no edit on release. Edit on release is more aggressive, but you have more cheese with no release edits.
THANK YOU FOR THIS VID MAN. I play controller and I didn't know you could change the setting to make it edit only. This is going to make my resets way faster!
3:37 That section actually is relevant to controller players, but only for your piece that shares a bind with either tile select or reset. For example, for my binds, if I hold my select tile bind as I confirm, then I can immediately build a wall. And if I hold my reset bind as I confirm, then I can immediately build a ramp. In fact, I hit that same bug you were talking about where you sometimes get stuck on ADS. For me, I sometimes get stuck on shooting too. I've reported it a few times myself, and there's been no good feedback.
I Agree with Reiss, I tried edit on release for a week and overall did not improve, but instead my gameplay was worse. Thanks for making a video on this for others to see!
2:55 when i came back to fort 1 month ago i noticed the same thing and put my place build button on right click there is no delay or bugs if u experience any issues with what u have now this is an alternative worth trying
I heard Jivan mention switching to it a year or two ago. One of the best decisions I could have made getting back into the game early on. I’m 30 now and it’s truly a god send for build fights. Couldn’t imagine not using it now.
As a 150/160 ms edit on release player (and I used yo play with 200+) , and it truly helps me. For example, I can't triple edit without it, because too many inputs are sent at the same time. Around 190/200 ms, it is definitely better to keep the classic edit binding because you physically can't edit quicky enough no matter what.
1:45 if you use eor you dont need to release the left click you can also confirm it with your edit button without releasing your left click button so this isnt an actual disadvantage.
3:21 It's really funny because that bug takes like 10 lines of code to fix, all you have to do is check if the select tiles keybind is released before the player can ADS.
Thanks so much for making this video. Im sure you got inspiration from clix's stream last night. There are too many people that think eor is MANDATORY, which makes sense on paper but many pros have proved that wrong for years
right hand positioning and cross hair placement is easy to mess up when you’re standing in the middle of your box but any good player on eor starts the edit once they’re already positioned correctly
2:58 have you explored right click places builds? Solves the problem of placing builds right after editing and keeps left click open to focus solely on editing. Mech went crazy after I switched to this
if you want you can set a secondary place building bind like the Del button and put something heavy on it which would allow you to insta place builds on kbm
i play edit on release off its alot easier to learn and makes you faster! yes you can make bad peaks but if you watch opponent and do safe peaks your fine! great vid reiss
the point made at 1:40 is easily change by placing build and edit select key being different i can hole right click (place build piece ) the whole time meaning the build is faster and can do the same when taking a wall by holding right click while using my pickaxe to then instantly place a wall
about the 1st issue u can double bind ur place build bind to an accesible bind like l-shift so u just keep it pressed while u edit and build and it does make u not lose that time ur welcome guys, i would really like reisshub making a short on this specifiic setting
For the first "problem" with eor, there is a specific key bind that solves it ... -> switching your "place build" button from the left mouse key to the right one. This is I think very controversial, but I am playing like that for years now and it feels really good. There are other benefits to it as well, e.g. I am able to hold a wall all the time while editing and don't even have to release the key when selecting the tiles since this stays on the left key Edit: as you state a few seconds afterwards, you're basically using the same idea just vice versa 😅
0:14 wth is the guy doing who's fighting peter. I can't imagine just standing in one corner of the box without pressing any button but spacebar without even making an attempt at leaving through the back, left, right, or top.
Ress, you might have missed on something. Instead changing the select keybind, change de PLACE BUILDS keybind, use to an alternate button like M5 or M4, with this you can build and have that low delay to place builds and the accuracy of selecting the edit tiles.
In the end it all comes to preference. I play on a switch so it’s easier for me to use edit and reset on release but for other people it might not be the same.
Edit on release doesn't disable confirming edits normally so you can still instantly place builds after editing by holding down m1 and confirming with your edit key, even if confirm edit on release is on. So pros are just choosing to do that and that point doesn't really make sense.
For edit on release, you can still confirm the edit manually to circumvent the "can't place immediately after editing" con like with placing cones and ramps... therefore not really a con
6:13 could not agree any more, I used triple edit binds from chapter 2 season 1 to chapter 5 season 1. It definitely is a LOT faster but that’s all, only switch to triple edit binds if you wanna edit fast. I fight a lot better with eor on
3:20 ive been raging over this for years at this point because its a bug that has got me killed multiple times but 99% of people dont use right click to select so the bug hasnt had enough attention
Might be the first video of reisshub that genuinely make no sense. The entire point of it being an option is that it's up to the user and it is realisticly more optimal
I feel that if you want to get better right hand peaks you want to practise with edit on release due to the fact that it trains you to always move to the safe part of the edit before confirming.
I’m a controller player that doesn’t use edit on released, but this is because in the settings I can change the confirm button to something else. and I’m on 60-80 ping.
The delay of reclicking to place another build is completely removed in edit on releasr if you use another bind to place build such as right click, then you don't have to worry about reclicking every time to place a build
the right click to select edits honestly doesnt take that long to learn. It took less than about 2 hours of playtime throughout 2 days to get used to, has been very useful since
loved the vid. but i think its worth counting every keys release as this actually dramatically changes the difference between the two settings lets take the double edit as the example again Edit on release off: Edit bind Release Select Release Edit bind Release Edit bind Release Select Edit bind (in theory u dont need to release the last 2) Total=10 instead of 8 Edit on release on: Edit bind Release select release Edit bind select release Total=still 7 These are all technically needed actions for a double edit Notes: u would ingame release both edit and select so that the count would be 12 vs 8 edit on release off is still ready to piece instantly at this point this shows that instead of an 12,5% faster, edit on release is theoretically either 30% or 40% faster than edit on release off. imo this doesnt change the fact that its a matter of preference, but it does change the numbers.

@@TheLazyCat000 I can't exactly make it any clear mate. If you don't understand I think you might need to go back to the drawing board and start school all over again.
I would say if you play controller it is better to use a bind to edit and a different bind to confirm i feel its much quicker than using Eod. and nice vid keep it up Reiss
I’ve gotten so used to right click placement , it just takes learning timing placements and going slow sometimes you will build before u finish editing but I’ve been using it so long I don’t really have the at issue
As sm one that knows how to b a good fighter w both, playing w off is def better against good players since u press ur edit bind twice so it makes u conscious abt what ur doing, ur crosshair placement and ur peaks are infinitely better and u dont even need to b fast to b a good fighter But i currently have it on, cuz for sm reason, i see more n more players trynna create as much chaos as possible (ex: mythics, vehicles, ppl trynna jump on my head outta nowhere, ect) instead of playing the game normally, and having eor on jus helps me get out of situations cuz my mechs are faster Also since u dont fight good players all the time, its jus way easier and faster to wipe players out w faster edits Sm of these might not apply to u cuz i have terrible binds and i edit w left shift
As a ps4 player with 20-40 ping and 40fps, I don't use Edit on Release as for us, it has a massive delay and it's rlly annoying when tryin to fight opponents.
Cold (or Acorn i can’t remember) has the best solution to this problem. EOR on, then remap the “place bind”. Reisshub mentions this but he uses right click… don’t do that. 😂
I use double edit binds on controller, i confirm edit on r1 with no additional software or whatever as we have an action called "confirm edit" which we can put to whatever is not being used in edit mode
!! NOT AT ALL A COMPETITIVE PLAYER HERE i've been playing with edit on release i think since it got added, and really never thought abt turning it off, because it's obviously "faster" but really i just end up fumbling edits by releasing too early or grazing a tile and i just chalk it up to "git gud" but ykno, starting a new chapter with new settings will be interesting for the curious (and if you wanna yell at me), here are my keybinds as a casual who's too good to play with my actual casual friends but not quite good enough (or motivated enough) to keep up with whatever the matchmaking is doing: weapon slots are as follows: middle mouse, Z, X, side mouse 1, side mouse 2 (i just changed the last 2, side mouse buttons have never been in my muscle memory despite having them for years) wall is E, floor C, stairs Q, roof is tab, trap is set to 3 interact is F, pickaxe is B (just realize i hadn't bound that to anything while writing this) my edit is shift and reset is r-click ctrl to crouch, alt to sprint
If you’re high ping. Play on eor OFF. If you have it on you’re just predicting when the edit actually confirms. With it off, you know exactly when it’s going to confirm. I also got better placements on it off

lets take the double edit as the example again
Edit on release off:
Edit bind
Release
Select
Release
Edit bind
Release
Edit bind
Release
Select
Edit bind (in theory u dont need to release the last 2)
Total=10 instead of 8
Edit on release on:
Edit bind
Release
select
release
Edit bind
select
release
Total=still 7
These are all technically needed actions for a double edit
Notes:
u would ingame release both edit and select so that the count would be 12 vs 8
edit on release off is still ready to piece instantly at this point
this shows that instead of an 12,5% faster, edit on release is theoretically either 30% or 40% faster than edit on release off.
imo this doesnt change the fact that its a matter of preference, but it does change the numbers.
First time I've heard anyone talk about this! I've been playing since the beginning of fortnite. I thought it was a me problem this whole time!😢
I'm subbing!
Bro really threaten us to fight pikachu 😭🙏 absolute entertainment
Jokes on you, I place builds with my right mouse button and select edits with my left mouse button😂
👍🏽
Same issue. Turbo building with right click means if you pull out your shotgun and slow you down
@@Jahq00 i dont understand what youre trying to say
@@TheLazyCat000 I can't exactly make it any clear mate. If you don't understand I think you might need to go back to the drawing board and start school all over again.
There is still time delay after you edit. This is no faster than placing buildings and selecting with left click.
cool video reisshub, should i use EOR on or off?
Riesshub never disappoints
I would say if you play controller it is better to use a bind to edit and a different bind to confirm i feel its much quicker than using Eod. and nice vid keep it up Reiss
I’ve gotten so used to right click placement , it just takes learning timing placements and going slow sometimes you will build before u finish editing but I’ve been using it so long I don’t really have the at issue
As sm one that knows how to b a good fighter w both, playing w off is def better against good players since u press ur edit bind twice so it makes u conscious abt what ur doing, ur crosshair placement and ur peaks are infinitely better and u dont even need to b fast to b a good fighter
But i currently have it on, cuz for sm reason, i see more n more players trynna create as much chaos as possible (ex: mythics, vehicles, ppl trynna jump on my head outta nowhere, ect) instead of playing the game normally, and having eor on jus helps me get out of situations cuz my mechs are faster
Also since u dont fight good players all the time, its jus way easier and faster to wipe players out w faster edits
Sm of these might not apply to u cuz i have terrible binds and i edit w left shift
Good vid keep going
ive played with edit on release off for like 2 months now
As a ps4 player with 20-40 ping and 40fps, I don't use Edit on Release as for us, it has a massive delay and it's rlly annoying when tryin to fight opponents.
What
As a ps4 player with 120-150 ping and 60fps what???? Us???
@@DrippyJeremy I meant to put me 😅
@@IThePeaceful np bruv jk
G Fortnite isn’t ment for the ps4 anymore 😭
Cold (or Acorn i can’t remember) has the best solution to this problem. EOR on, then remap the “place bind”. Reisshub mentions this but he uses right click… don’t do that. 😂
I use double edit binds on controller, i confirm edit on r1 with no additional software or whatever as we have an action called "confirm edit" which we can put to whatever is not being used in edit mode
hey reiss should i use eor??
I’m using edit on release, and I really like it. I like to edit fast, I play on controller too.
Great Video ❤
now its all useless because of simple edit
Let's be honest it's probably going to be controversial and it might be removed next season or next chapter
@@It_PHOENIX naw its not that good. Its for new players mainly
!! NOT AT ALL A COMPETITIVE PLAYER HERE
i've been playing with edit on release i think since it got added, and really never thought abt turning it off, because it's obviously "faster"
but really i just end up fumbling edits by releasing too early or grazing a tile and i just chalk it up to "git gud"
but ykno, starting a new chapter with new settings will be interesting
for the curious (and if you wanna yell at me), here are my keybinds as a casual who's too good to play with my actual casual friends but not quite good enough (or motivated enough) to keep up with whatever the matchmaking is doing:
weapon slots are as follows: middle mouse, Z, X, side mouse 1, side mouse 2 (i just changed the last 2, side mouse buttons have never been in my muscle memory despite having them for years)
wall is E, floor C, stairs Q, roof is tab, trap is set to 3
interact is F, pickaxe is B (just realize i hadn't bound that to anything while writing this) my edit is shift and reset is r-click
ctrl to crouch, alt to sprint
1:30 use right click as place build and just hold it down
And how do you aim
he literally said this is what he does
If you’re high ping. Play on eor OFF. If you have it on you’re just predicting when the edit actually confirms. With it off, you know exactly when it’s going to confirm. I also got better placements on it off
