I'm diggin' the hair Ari! Also thank you for this information man! I have been doing my research for the past few months on how to get my music and video content out there and today I stumbled across your channel and video. I'm so glad I didn't rush and spend money on people that claimed they could get my music or content heard for all these ridiculous fees. I figured since I'm a new Indie artist and I already have a PRO and use Distrokid then that was half the battle. I just needed to figure out how to get my music along with my videos (that I am now currently making) seen and heard by a larger audience. I can really say you are a Godsend! Thank you! EXCELLENT VIDEO!! 🤗🙌👏👍🎵🎼🎶
Wow! I always wondered what Vevo was. This was great information. I really hope distrokid gets on the board. Gotta make sure this is at the top of list for my next release! Thank you for this!
Thanks Ari and David for sharing!! Gonna try to have my videos on VeVo too!! :)
No more videos ;( I’ve been loving the process of listening and learning from all of the great content / interviews. 👏🏼👏🏼
Edit: I’ve literally watched and listened to all The ep’s. I do need to go back and watch some of the older pre podcast ones. Looking forward to more!
Hey Ari...lost track of you for a bit during Covid (my gosh...how so much has changed in just a few years!!)
Great interview with great info...I was wondering myself about VEVO...thanks!
Thanks for the interesting discussion! I just hope Distrokid hurries up with their video distribution, they've been promising it for ages
For anyone with ONErpm, I just contacted them about releasing my next music videos to VEVO (since they advertise this feature) and this is what I was told...
"VEVO isn't part of our package of video distribution anymore. Our partnership with them is finished, and as the artist can't access the VEVO channel we are recommending our artists to apply for an OAC on TH-cam through their dashboard (Account Settings > Join TH-cam Network), with an OAC you can unify your topic channel and an already existent VEVO channel. The already distributed videos will keep available on VEVO if you want to, but you can't send new ones."
I contacted them, and they were charging me money to put my videos on their VEVO Platform.
I've distributed music videos to VEVO in the past and the royalties are definitely higher than if you just upload your videos to your youtube artist page. The thing to consider is that artists do not have access to your VEVO channel, so you don't get access to all the stats and data youtube would provide if you uploaded to your own artist page. So, for me, I stopped using VEVO as I found the demographic data provided by uploading my videos directly to my artist channel to be worth more in the long run than the slightly higher royalty payouts from VEVO.
You should be able to get access to your analytics within your VEVO dashboard. Just ask them for access if you don't have it yet.
@@ArisTake I actually emailed VEVO about it after watching your interview. They said it used to be a problem where artists could not get their analytics but now the analytics are merged into your AOC. If you don't have an AOC, there is no way to see your stats. Kudos to them for fixing this.
Hi. So are you able to see your analytics on Vevo now?
This show is very informative
Great informative video - my daughter is only 11 years old - but has around 30,000 likes for each of her (own) songs (maybe not millions but hardly surprising at her age) - and Distrokid has been putting them on Vevo recently too - so am seriously thinking of changing over. Her new producer reckons she will explode in a few years time - but time will tell, of course - and who knows if she will like singing when she is old enough for boyfriends etc.(!!)
I did not hear you mentioning Ditto Music, , ,
Gems!
Hi Ari, Has anything changed since this video came out? Any additional info regarding VEVO? Thank you
Dig your channel Ari.
“What he just said” Dig your channel Ari.
Great content...I know we got our artist J.R.Clark on VEVO......but I guess the bigger question is does VEVO offer marketing services???
Please I want to upload my music video on VEVO and I don't know who to contact so I could upload it I'm independent artist, please help me out ,and I want to know how minutes video can put in there
Your distributor can help you
Don’t do it, it’s not worth it. The in-depth analytics info you have access to when uploading to TH-cam yourself is much more beneficial since it shows you how best tailor targeted advertising. you don’t have access to this when your video is on some other channel.
If I could work for vevo that would be a dream come true.
My brother said distrokid has it now
Shymponic, Vydia too
Why some singers puts vevo in theire thumbnails, 😢 i never understand.
They shouldn't even sell their account to VEVO.
@@remyroland2424 vevo is the reason people know them vevo promotes people music no matter what
I just can't see myself giving up my TH-cam Channel to VEVO just to distribute my music videos. That's why i prefer the Warner Route, where they let their artists own and manage their own TH-cam Channel.
Did we watch the same video or am I misunderstanding something? The vevo guy said you can now unify all TH-cam channels into one that you control. I hope that's the case...
There's something you didn't knew. VEVO owns EVERY Artist TH-cam channel and all the revenue they generate from TH-cam goes straight to VEVO and the artists get a very small amount of royalties, whereas other TH-cam Channels with the Warner Logo are directly owned by Warner and the artist itself. @@Adrian_Franco

I used to see Vevo a lot not as much these days
is it normal that every vevo link under a youtube video just leads to the vevo homepage? even tho it looks like theyre all individual links, suggesting they would lead to an artist page
DITTO can get your videos on Vevo for a a fee
The MAJOR problem with vevo is, if your music video on the vevo channel gets 100K views, that’s 100k views on that vevo channel, NOT your artist channel. This means your artist channel watch time and algorithmic upticks are left in the cold while the vevo channel reaps that benefit. Your hard work and targeted advertising goes towards a channel foreign to yours. There’s no benefit to vevo. Unless you are signed to one of those major labels, there’s no point. It’s not like vevo is going to advertise your video in a commercial or editorial, unless you’re signed to UMG and UMG is footing the bill.
You can connect your VEVO channel to your Artist TH-cam channel via OAC.
