Snap&Go - Optimizing patient safety at the point of care

Snap & Go is a next-generation digital documentation tool that uses new technology to simplify and improve the task of recording consumption in surgery.
Image recognition and AI technology offers new ways to achieve full item and charge capture in OR and procedure rooms, as well as to boost patient safety.
How does it work?
Snap & Go uses an image recognition sensor to take a 'snap' of product packaging. A digital image of the product package is captured and all relevant information including product ref, batch number, expiry date, and more, are recorded straight into the EMR.
Patient safety is enhanced in two main ways:
1. Pre-consumption
The system identifies each product via a global SKU database - ending the reliance on the hospital's Item Master. This means that products are quickly identified, with all relevant details being obtained from the package information.
If an item is 'snapped' that has been recalled or has expired, then the system raised a real-time alert to prevent the product from being consumed.
This provides a safety net that prevents 'never events' - protecting patients and shielding the organization from bad publicity and expensive litigation.
2. Post- consumption
If a consumed implant is later recalled, then the full and accurate digital records provided by using Snap&Go lead to quick and robust recall management. It really is as simple as generating a report and you then have a list of all the patients who consumed the product, that need to be tracked and tracked.
