It won't actually be in the case of 6A. I am using it. In saver mode it drains overnight for 4-7%, in super saver mode it drains 3-5%. Those phones are the worst unoptimized phones ever. Even my oldest iphone 5SE in saver mode doesn't lose even 1% overnight.
Tensor G2 is improved chipset from Tenson G1 chip . Also Chip size of G2 is smaller than G1 .So G2 has early advantages in Battery. so definitely 7a give better battery life . But 6A pushed up battery to good one .

It is interesting to see a comparison of the discharge after different charging currents. for example a unit 20 W, 5 W, 1 W. Compare how phones are discharged after them. Perhaps you need to do several discharges, they say the smartphone lasts longer when charging with a small current
7a cleary has the edge on this one cause the pixel 6a already had its updates for over a year? so it might be having software issues or bugs that drains the battery way faster than before even if its brand new

Any other Xiaomi model even cheaper than this can work longer. Even my old Huawei Y7(2017) can work 7 hours of screen play on 4G It has snapdragon 635.
You guys are forgetting the brighter display with a higher refresh rate. Indeed the Pixel 7a does have a better battery like, but it’s taken up by a better display which translates to a similar battery life in average use. To be fair 7 minutes in this extremely intensive test probably translates to 30 or so in the real world.

Active drain is less on Pixel 7A. But the idle drain is quite high like 1.5-1.8% per hour.

I am still using the 4a in battery saver mode. It lasts me the whole day.
So turning on yhe battery saver mode will help alot. 😊

4.5hrs from stress test, it can easily last a whole day. I hate a pixel 6a, i easily get 5.5-6hrs SOT, with 16hrs plus phone on time.
