You are so kind and gentle with your babies!! I was cheering you both on- when she was laying the eggs, and when you were so quickly getting the vermiculite prepared!

So happy for Miss Flipper 💚💚 my Pumpkin 🐢 just began the pacing in the garden and checking out the territory today, she’s got the egg bulge in her behind and on her back legs so I know it won’t be long now. She normally lays 6 in a single clutch!

Thanks I just watched a slider lay eggs but it wasn’t in a very safe place so I was looking into possibly moving them or what all would be best. I think I’ll just make a little sign so no one bothers them in that area

I love how good you are to your turtles ❤ that’s how I am with my pets and animals I raise. ❤ makes me so happy to see other people who not only care so much but also do the research to take care of them right!
(Not a giant fan of turtles though …because i also raised a baby duck and this year one of the baby ducks got eaten by a turtle!! 😑a big flat pancake Floridian turtle q with a long neck and nose - I call that jerk Nessy, cause she looks like the Loch Ness monster)

Dan, congrats on the finding the eggs this time! I might need one of your babies.....wink wink Serious question though, feeding them hardboiled eggs won't encourage them to start cannibalizing their eggs will it? I am hoping I get my first eggs later this year or next spring....fingers crossed!

I’ve not had that issue with any of my girls except for Livie my largest RES, she doesn’t much care if she’s in the water or on land to lay eggs but she will eat at least 2 of them if she has them in the water. None of my RES girls eggs lay fertile eggs so I don’t worry too much about it.
