"They are making videos for people who shop at zoomies" perfectly describes Donut! I've been looking for a way to describe this kind of content consumer for a long time, and that's the best i've seen. Like, poser kids or adults who haven't grown up mentally who plays Call of Duty all, watch Supra videos and buy Hard-Tuned jackets, shoes and slather their car in stickers and other "tuner lifestyle" shit . They don't know anything about cars, but they'll sure argue in the comments section about how motors are built. Meanwhile they can't even change a sparkplug on their own.
They also removed the reason, why they made the series in the first place: comparing cheap and expensive parts to see, whats worth spending more money on. With the 350s, they had a final discussion, where they gave a small recap of what they would pick. With the WRXs it was just "We installed a 30.000$ crate engine. Thanks for watching" and thats that. No summary, no personal recommendations, just endcard and done.
It's funny that Tiernan mentioned that the behind the scenes people didn't get any credit. I remember a few years back I commented on 3 consecutive donut videos that they need to add credits to the end of their videos because I realized the hosts were not writing there own on screen material.
Them talking about not driving a stick made me chuckle and reminded me of when I went to go get my first project car (1991 Honda CRX) I drove 5 and half hours to go get it without knowing how to drive stick but I'd been riding motorcycles since I was a kid and since they're all basically manual I was just like "I'm sure I can just figure it out" but thinking back that was kind of a dumb idea since I was driving it back 5 and half hours.

Advice from a long time car guy in my mid 40's. Newer cars are nice n all, but not mechanic friendly. If you want to work on your own car, then get something from the 90's or early 2000's. Anything built after 2001-2009 (depending on manufacture) is over engineered and designed to be assembled once, as quickly as possible while able to fulfill a warranty. Then be replaced.
Its kind of an unwinnable game at this point. I agree with you in a sense; my cars are a 90 and a 93, but I have to fix them or do preventative maintenance constantly. Even if you live in a low rust climate, every bushing and seal in a car from the 90s is on its last leg or completely disintegrated, and in many climates, beginning to rot and corrode beyond a realistically feasible point for the average person. My 1990 has at least 15 weld patches on the floor and I still have more to fix now that I've stripped the undercoating and found more rot. The 90s cars were a great option up to ~2015, and I've noticed them becoming much rarer over the past decade as each one becomes too much time and money to fix. I wish it wasn't this way and I'm sticking with old cars, but I don't see many other people learning to weld, do body work and paint, and build a whole car without already having the tools and some experience.
I wish more car content creators would encourage people to NOT buy coilovers. I threw some on my car because the shocks were toast and I figured "why not upgrade?" Horrible decision. Now I've spent twice as much on coilovers that hurt my back and give me anxiety while I'm driving.

Can confirm. ChisFix did not know how to drive manual when he bought that car. I am proud to say. I(24M) learned how to drive in a 1970 C10 with a "three on the tree." I'm one of the rare few young car guys with that achievement!
The Drive was originally a non-affiliated Jalopnik spinoff. It was hot at its inception with Mike Spinelli, JF Musial, Matt Farrah, Leo Parente at times. I read a while back they were in talks with MotorTrend => Discovery a while back, but it didn’t work out. At that point, all the original creative minds were no longer there 🤷🏼♂️ The Drive platform should have grown so much more, had they managed to sustain funding and *creative direction*

Wait does this mean netgear hasn't sold the baja yet?
I think its a taboo subject
I doubt he sold it. It's his Subaru.
Been watching you guys since 25k, would like to see more what to do what not to do type video. Great content tho. CCF🔛🔝
Oh right, I forgot to resub after unsubbing cus you talked to pork.
Nice to be back. Atlas: fade ys. The rest of CCF remain cool for having bullied Atlas for not liking ChrisFix.
We *do* all love ChrisFix here. He did learn to drive manual for that series.
Can confirm. ChisFix did not know how to drive manual when he bought that car.
I am proud to say. I(24M) learned how to drive in a 1970 C10 with a "three on the tree." I'm one of the rare few young car guys with that achievement!
here at 10k views, hopefully you can reach that 1 million views

The Drive was originally a non-affiliated Jalopnik spinoff. It was hot at its inception with Mike Spinelli, JF Musial, Matt Farrah, Leo Parente at times.
I read a while back they were in talks with MotorTrend => Discovery a while back, but it didn’t work out. At that point, all the original creative minds were no longer there 🤷🏼♂️
The Drive platform should have grown so much more, had they managed to sustain funding and *creative direction*
Let’s not forget Chris Harris was also on Drive 😅 ✌🏻
Just trying to learn about cars and really have that whole "taking a shitbox and upgrading tf out of it" experience that i never had growing up is real difficult when half of car youtube is trying to sell me shit i most likely just dont need.
It's finally up!!
