  • 'The Floral Dance' - Children in Need Rocks for Sir Terry Wogan
    On Tuesday November 1, 2016 a very special concert took place at the Royal Albert Hall to honour legendary broadcaster and the inspirational figurehead of BBC Children in Need, Sir Terry Wogan!
    Michael Ball and Alfie Boe sent a floral tribute (Auntie's write up):-
    " Perhaps the most singular performance of the night came at the very end, as Michael Ball and Alfie Boe, two of the country's most distinguished and accomplished singing talents, gave a rousing, almost tearful, rendition of Sir Terry's sole hit single, The Floral Dance. It was a performance ripe with emotion, vivid both emotionally and literally, and delivered with the full reverence demanded of such a solemn occasion. "

    What a wonderful tribute to the legend that is Sir Terry Wogan. Still, couldn’t capture the charm that Terry brought to it.

    Hard to believe sir terry has been gone so long. A staple of my early life ...a magnificent example of humble fame used to benifit all. Hope he is with the angels x

    Surely the whole point of TW's version was that he was a bloody atrocious singer?

    • @synthesizerpatel7405
      @synthesizerpatel7405 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      He actually sang Floral Dance in a fairly decent, rich baritone. Nothing amazing, I’m sure he’d be the first to admit, but far from atrocious!
