That's what I was thinking - how did it take until frying until Andrew saw how big he made them? It's not a nugget, it's a chunk. Like half a chicken breast.
I tried to make this - with a ton of substitutions. I'm gluten free and also allergic to some of the ingredients in the egg sub and most of the ingredients in the chicken salt. (I used Tastyco's 'best spice rub' plus some 'eden shake'). I probably should have put some gum in my gluten free flour mix and some baking powder in my faux buttermilk (which I also over-thickened). The nuggets held together ok while frying but not when eating. My tofu may have been too firm (but its my favorite, locally made tofu!). Flavor was OK. Absorbed too much oil. Wont do it again. But it was sort of a fun experiment. And I did like the fresh-herb ranch!
After quarantine, You guys should do an episode where Adam gets to pick his favorite low, medium, and high price restaurants, Steven and Andrew film. And Adam picks which was the most worth it
