i love flip that! i’m a huge fan of house-influenced songs and this perfectly fit the bill. already one of my favorite loona songs, and the whole album is entirely perfect!

This song is definitely a grower for me, every time you listen to it you find something new and interesting to love about it! Took me a few listens to truly start enjoying the song but all together the album is just purely amazing, the LOONA girls did amazing with this!

i feel like that "summer mystique" you mentioned is because large parts of this comeback seem to be based on the "a midsummer night's dream" play by shakespeare :-) so the cult comment during the final dreamy forest scene is surprisingly accurate lmao

yeah, I'm non loona bias and only know few members. i like some of their songs like Love Cherry Motion, Not Friend, and Vivid acoustic ver. i immediately like this song in the first listen, it sounds fresh and addicting, also the girls look extra gorgeous in this concept.
vivi not only got multiple close ups throughout the video but also a line IN THE FIRST VERSE. there have been times where her smile seems a little forced but here it feels so genuine. as a vivi stan it makes me happy. she's the reason i got into LOONA in general. her debut is one i play constantly. her english is so good too! let her speak and sing more!!!!!

GOD I feel like there's nothing to dislike about this comeback! The styling, the mv, the song, everything. It's so pleasing to the ear. I always said that I understand if people dislike Why Not, So What, and PTT (though I personally loved them), but this song is so soothing and fresh and FUN that I can't comprehend anyone finding any flaws here. Love that you mentioned that it sounds like a Gen 3/late 2010s song because I felt the same. Also liked "summer mystique" as a descriptor for the song! Glad you enjoyed it!
This song reminds me of Lovelyz, early Gfriend and Apink but updated and done in Loona's way. It is perfect for summer and having fun. It is catchy and easy to listen to. People need to lighten up and stop holding Loona to some insane standard when most kpop groups are not held anywhere close to the same standard.
I'm obsessed with this album, just obsessed. Seeing some people's comments I just want to say this: People always want more and more from Loona but will accept dog shit "music" from certain other groups, there's just no pleasing them. Being a pre-debut stan, Loona constantly outdoes their previous comebacks and they always deliver. Watching them grow has really been something I can't put into words. My ults are loona and exo for a reason, they don't shy away from trying new sounds and continuing to improve themselves always and it shows in each comeback.

I've been quite vocal about wanting more from Loona on social media and stuff, not sure if you happened to run into some of my comments before and it made you say this but I would like to elaborate if that's the case or if it even represents anyone else with a similar perspective of Loona. But first of all know that I do not accept dogshit music from certain other groups, Aespa and Nmixx fanbases want me fucking dead for explaining in detail why Next Level and O.O are aberrations (so is Tank, and Savage, and Icecream from Blackpink, and the list goes on). Anyway, why I want more from Loona is not in a sense of "they are not doing well", it's in the sense of "they are obviously good but their potential is not used to the fullest". It's not about the members, it's mostly about their production. I feel like whoever they work with is often short sighted or doesn't have proper direction or understanding of what can be done. The perfect example of this is during Queendom when we see the behind the scene footage before they perform Butterfly, there's a scene where Haseul and Yves (iirc) reviewing the rearrangement of the song and talking to the producer, they tell him that the song is lacking in some places, or something along those lines implying it's kinda flat. Once the producers reworked it, they were happy cuz it was better, but it was still not enough and they were criticized exactly for that after their performance. This is obviously nit picking, but that's what art work looks like at a higher level, you polish the details, because the rest is solid. I want more from them because they are at that level of quality and when I say I want more it's because I like it, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved. Perfection doesn't exist.

I feel like it's because LOONA introduced themselves as an artistic group (that's why a lot of music critiques, people working in film, and artists exists in the fandom) and have attracted a dedicated fandom intead of the usual "11/12 year olds who are willing to eat anything "kind of fanbase.
Honestly, watching PD’s reaction almost had me in tears (emotionally). This comeback is going to be their most commercial success and they deserve it and the artistic achievement of this comeback should not be understated. This is my favorite MV visually and the song is incredibly refreshing.

The close up facial shots, especially of hyunjin and heejin, remind me of "I'll be there". That along with the signs saying "The Carol 2.0" and "Hi High" makes me really thing of predebut, which I LOVED. Easily my fav loona comeback

I got into Loona during So What era. I was obsessed with SoWhat and it made me fall into the predebut rabbit hole and watch everything in order, which obviously made me fall in love with Loona. I was personally a little bit dissapointed that PTT was a sharp dark concept again, and I don't love CGI-heavy MVs, so I was hoping for a comeback like FlipThat. It's so refreshing to watch them go back to this Loona 1/3 world of nostalgia and purity. It's like the lore of the MV is about making a fresh start and that's what the song feels like.
I am always and forever a "girl groups with boy group concepts" kind of fan, but this comeback is a 10/10.
the actual dark undertone of this summer release is, while it did convey happy and cheery vibes, it is set as a story of the girls dreaming of summertime. At what point did they dream? while on their way to somewhere on a train. So this is the moon girls dreaming of summertime. Commemorating Haseul's comeback, I think the lore here is they are about to continue the story back to Eden, but this time, Haseul is there to continue the story further as a complete team. They close the MV with "eerything flipped", which might actually referring to the debut era, notice the carol reference also there, as a reminder that this summer release were actually treated as a "holiday unit" release. The song is on par with big names of summer girl group queens in the last, at least, 5 years. Departing from the marching anthem of Paint The Town, they actually kind of hinted at these flowery themes in PTT MV too.

When asked about the choreo, the girls said it's easy with an easy hook part but the whole performance is busy with the formations. I didn't want to watch their showcase stages alot so i can ravish the music show performances but man, it's definitely not the hardest but it's probably one of the prettiest performances with intricate framing and transitions. And the fact that loona practiced this side by side with pose-two contrasting dancing style and very opposite vibe.
The sheer joy on PD’s face is exactly my feeling while listening. It’s such a beautiful song. I love it so much. I’m so glad they did cute concept. I love it

This actually feel like a loona song too. So what, why not, and ptt sound like they’re made from completely different groups and don’t fit loona in the slightest. This is supported by the fact the albums of those songs have a completely different sound than those songs. I barely consider those songs to be loona songs
Flip That has to be one of my top comebacks of this year, for sure. The song is great; they sound great; they look great; the aesthetics are great.
i'm pretty sure you recognized that this isn't digipedi, but i actually really appreciated this mv so much in juxtaposition to dgpd -- seeing this in its entirety really made me feel like, with digipedi, loona is the messenger of the theme / narrative in the music video. here, loona is celebrated and the center of the mv, rather than the message of the comeback, and i'm so so here for it
I think it’s because that’s the vibe of this MV as a whole. The song is less serious than their previous releases so I think the mv reflected that regardless of who directed it.
I’m so fond of their brighter/chiller/lighter concepts. Loved so what and why not, wasn’t a huge fan of ptt but this concept suits loona so much more imo. They look so HAPPY!!

well i mean they did release hula hoop recently, and it was also a bright and fun concept !! loona has always done dofferent things instead of sticking with just one style, and they’ve always managed to still make kt sound distinctly like loona

the thing about loona music productions is the fact that the composer's mix and masters productors the girls themselves are so musically enriching their music so you can't get enough. loosing interest in one part of the song but emerging new point to look up, makes you feel like you are building up a relationship in which you hardly loose excitement.
I love how this song is sort of addicting but in a subtle sense, like it leaves you wanting for more but in a very good way. "mysterious summer song" sounds about right. I think if there's anything that characterizes loona is how committed they are to whatever concept they decide to do. they will 100% immerse in it and absorb it if that makes any sense ❤ i love flip that and the whole mini album

I really like this song, it’s so catchy. I’m still trying to figure out the secondary genre. It would be in Dancehall but production rearranged the segments. It has as the 4 on Floor beat, the popular overused drum sample, instead of using the standard wind instrument sample they used a high pitched ethereal keyed sample. I just placed it in EDM for now.

You bring up a good point that it is the first time a 4th gen group has gone back to this concept and pulled it off. I really adore this concept and change in pace. I love all their stuff but this came at the best time, it is so fun and catchy, light and summery. The whole mini is probably my favourite. Loona never disappoint me.

I loved this release (and the whole album), which is surprising and unsurprising at the same time, because I dont usually like sweet and soft concepts like this, but loona does it so well and with so much emotion that I've always loved it from them. This feels like such a breath of fresh air for me.
