I tend to like lighter rackets and I mean LIGHT, (I'm a recreational player). Ive been wanting a new slightly smaller/heavier racquet for a while, and coming from a legit 260g 100in2 Head racquet I was hesitant to go up to a 300g or 330g stick. So I ordered this VCore Pro 97 in the 290g lite version. Is this a good move? I felt that I could always add tape for stability/weight if needed.,,
where did you feel the lack of stability the most?! first time trying this awesome stick today: lovely on returns serving was effortless awesome plow through on fh great feel on drop volleys negatives: low power on bh tough to swing when pulled far wide lack of plow on slice lack of plow on volleys i’ve tried 20+ rackets the past few weeks, this one and the rf97 cv are by far my favorite. clash tour was mind blowing for groundstrokes but horrible everywhere else. can you recommend anything else i should try? looking for 65 and under stiffness. coming from a C10 pro. loving your reviews brother, thank you!
I lacked stability in the hoop, it felt a bit flimsy on some shots for such a high static weight racquet, especially compared to the RF97A or older HEAD racquets. Have you tried Angell frames? The K7 Lime is another nice stick but has a rather unique feel. Their Custom racquets give you the option to get the specs and stiffness you like for example. You can check out my Gear of the Year posts at Tennisnerd.net to find out which frames I like most. If you have any questions about them, I'm here. Appreciate the comment, thanks!

how does it compare to the 95D? never had a chance to hit with the 95D but heard great reviews about it and also saw you hitting with it in one of your videos. I am currently hitting with the pro 330.
The VCORE 95D is also a great frame. I would say the 95D is a little less forgiving, has a more "brassy" feel, but is faster through the air. I like both of them about the same so it would be a hard pick for me personally. You get a bit better control with the 95D, but more spin with the Pro 330. Hope this gives you an idea!
MrFREDANG Yes, it is a good addition to RF97 in the bag. More comfortable and easier to use. Not as stable but a nice racquet. I have two lightly used if interested.
Tennisnerd that’s very kind, how much would you want for one? Only issue is that I’m in the UK so could be more economical for me to purchase one here once shipping is factored in
Tristan Maus It is heavier (but you can go with 310 gram version for similar weight to the Pure Strike), it also plays softer. Power level would be about the same, I felt the launch angle was perhaps slightly higher with the VCORE Pro.
The list of new racquets coming out is growing so I'm not sure I'll get around to it. Especially since I think it will play very similar to the 330g version, but offer you more customization options. I think it will feel a bit unstable in stock form since the hoop is quite flexible. But with some lead tape in the hoop you can make it into a nice stick. If you don't like a high launch angle I would look elsewhere though since the 16x19 made it feel slightly inconsistent at times. Hope this gives you an idea.
Tennisnerd i have completely same thoughts, with some tape on the top,it gets more powerful and easier to control on forehand, but it also reduces the backhand swingspeed,in all thank you for your reply.
Hi, I haven't yet tried it. Since I thougth the 330 needed some lead tape in the head to play more stable, I think the 310 might require too much customization for me personally. It does give you more room to customize however and if your preferred weight is less than 350 grams, that is the way to go. It depends a bit what weight and balance you're looking for. Not sure I will review that one yet, lots of other racquets in line :)
Yo, @tennisnerd, been playing this YVCorePro 330 for a little while (def stepped my game up a bit), even snagged a new one with the green color way, but I am starting to have some serious arm discomfort. Strung with VS/Rpm @ 62/59. I love the racquet and the feel of the hybrid stringbed, but was wondering if you have any suggestions for a racquet switch. Watched a lot of racquet reviews you’ve done, and even demoed a Donnay but never had time to properly hit it before I had to return it. What day you??? Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work!
Fabri Garzon It depends a bit if you’re going to customize it or not. In stock form it will be less powerful due to lower weight so I’d recommend a poly with low tension - Luxilon Alu Power, Solinco Hyper-G, Volkl Cyclone at 20-22 kg. Good luck!
Hi, I saw your video, you described it really well. I am considering buying this racquet but not very sure. Maybe you can help. This question isn't about the Yonex but about another racquet - Tecnifibre DC 315ltd 16x19. I currently hit with the previous 330g Vcore and skip a top string to make it 16x19. Of course, that doesn't change the pattern but merely the weight and response. I'm looking for a little more consistency as I have a tendency to hit just long with my fast strokes. I love to freely swing, so do you think the 315ltd will allow me to do that compared to the 330g? Also, I heard the 315ltd has a fairly tighter than usual 16x19 pattern? Is this true? If so, would you say it's fairly close to something like an RF97? I'm looking at the 16x19 because I've hit with tight patterns forever and want to find a good enough blend for a tight pattern that allows me to swing out and the pop of an open pattern. Sorry for the long message. Cheers!
Hi, yes I think moving down a bit in weight could be a good idea. The Tec DC 315 Ltd 16x19 will be more low-powered and controlled than the Duel G 330 (especially if you skip a top string!). It has a fairly tight 16x19 string pattern too as you mentioned. I would try to get it weighed up to 340-45 grams and 32 cm balance. I think the racquet really shines with that spec. Let me know how you like it and hopefully, you feel more confident with that racquet. It is very important to be able to swing freely in tennis! Good luck / Jonas
Tennisnerd thanks so much! Didn’t know if the few points in RA would matter. I was mainly concerned with the string pattern as I’ve always hit with tight patterns, but I don’t mind a slightly more open one. Keep up the reviews! Love the website as well.
Hi Paul, they are both very thin. The Phantom Pro 100P is a bit more flexible and comfortable, but is slower through the air due to the bigger head. If you want more room for customization I think that's a good choice. If you're fine with a strung weight of 345-350 grams, I would go with the VCORE Pro 97 330. If I would choose between the two myself, I'd take the Pro 97 330.
@@Tennisnerd You see, that's why this business is and will always be extremely subjective, and the best what everyone can do is just to try by themselves. My point being, in the review of Pro 100P you were extremely enthusiastic, praising stability among other things, especially for 310 grams racket. I like stability the most. The review of Vcore Pro 97 330 is painted in mediocre impressions at best, although you do point out that it's all in all a great stick. Still, you recommend it over Pro 100P. Damn :) How come? It hits me on personal level, cause I am in a process of switching from Blade 98 18x20 CV. It's just too light, although I customised it a bit (leather grip). I was testing Vcore Pro 97 310 and Head Speed Pro 360. Nice, really nice, especially Speed Pro is so forgiving, but still too light. I need mass. Next option is Vcore Pro 97 330 and RF97A, but I seriously doubt about the latter, it's just way too serious stick. Among the options to switch is also Pro 100P, I was going through reviews of it, and you really got me interested, but after this statement about Vcore Pro 97 330 being a better option although the Pro 100P review was way more positive, I am just lost :)))
Vjeko Tezak Good point! It is always hard to compare and relate racquets to each other. A racquet choice is such a personal thing and for me with my flatter game, the VCORE Pro 97 worked better for me than the 100P. But as an objective measurement, the feel of the 100P is really good and it does most things well. The one thing that irked me with the 100P was the roundish head shape which made it feel slower through the air than the 97 VCORE. On contact however, the 100P felt just as stable despite the low weight. The VCORE Pro should feel more stable being 330 grams but the hoop is a bit too flexible. Somehow it still worked really well for my game, better than the 100P. But if you are looking for a 100 sq inch racquet that plays stable and with good feel, that is a great option. I was surprised about how well it perfromed despite the relatively low static weight but the head size and shape was the thing I struggled with. Hope this gives you some idea...
It does, thank you a lot for the insight, I appreciate it. The thing is that the market nowadays is just divided between 300-ish and seriously heavier rackets like 330 grams. I was the happiest with one iteration of Speed Pro, 2012 or whatever. Mass was 315, swingweight and everything else was exactly where I needed it, except the stability, especially on returns. After it Head never did hit the mark with Speed Pros, although 360 is a nice stick, baselining with it is so simple, yet serving is terrible. I do not look for 100 head size per se, I would be happier with 97/98 head size. On the list were Dunlop Revo Tour (swingweight is low and doesn't work for my game), Head Speed Pro 360 (no mass, low swingweight), Yonex Vcore Pro 97 310/330, Wilson Pro Staff 97 (didn't test, they say it gets sluggish outside the sweetspot and not consistent) and Prince Phantom Pro 100P. Next on the test is Pro 97 330 :)
Vjeko Tezak Hi, I actually ended up purchasing the VCORE Pro 330 and I really like it. Before I was playing with the pure aero tour and I feel the VCORE pro 330 is easier to swing even though it is a slightly heavier racquet. Compared to the pure aero tour the VCORE pro has more control and almost the same power. The thinner beam has a nice flex and I like the control I get on my slice backhand. So if you are looking for a thinner frame racquet with great control and power you definitely have to give this racquet a try.
meepaolo Tour F will definitely be more harsh than the VCORE Pro 97 330. Got a chance to hit with the 330 and it’s a fantastic frame. Smooth and packs some punch.
I'm sorry to ask all of these questions. But I'm thinking about getting a Volkl C-10 a Angell TC97 or K7 or a Prince Phantom 100p. I'm not big on stiff frames. I don't want anything above 65. Anything you could say on those?
No problem! The Völkl C 10 is a nice stick, but the VCORE Pro 97 330 is easier to use in my opinion. They are all nice, arm-friendly racquets. The K7 Red and Prince Phantom are the most comfortable of the bunch. The K7 Red is a bit easier to use and swing in my opinion, but the Prince Phantom 100P has a bigger sweet spot. The TC97 is probably the firmer of them all, but the 18x20 version has a really nice soft, sweet spot and you can customize it to the spec you want from Angell. What are you looking for in your game? Do you prefer 100 sq inch or smaller? Do you want to add lead tape to the frame? What are you playing with today? I could try to give you a suggestion but need to know more about what you're looking for.
I just want to try a bunch of things but I'm not a big fan of super stiff frames. I currently play with a DR98 and I my Vcore Pro 97 is getting strung. I like topspin and I have a really nasty lefty slice. I want a good overall racquet that doesn't get pushed around. For headsize I'm looking at anything between 95 to 100. I have Solynco hyper G. Do you string it with the same tension in your cross as in your mains when going full bed poly? I wanted to buy a C10 or a Phantom P but was wondering if any of the Angell racquets would be worth shelling out extra. Really would like to try something that feels like the PT57A and E everyone raves about. I don't mind adding lead tape.
If you want something that plays like a PT57A/E, I'd suggest an Angell TC 97 18x20, has a quite similar flex but is easier to use. The Tecnifibre Tfight 315 Ltd in either 16x19 or 18x20 are also fine racquets with lots of feel. I try to keep it easy when it comes to stringing and string 22-23 kg in both crosses and mains. If I would choose between a C10 and a Phantom P, I'd go with the Prince as it's a bit easier to use. Another racquet that plays close to PT57A/E is the Wilson Ultra Tour with lead tape at 3 and 9. Hope you find something you really like and there is nothing wrong with being a racquetholic like me.
Thanks! I think the VCORE Pro 97 flexes more than the DR 98. But the weight really helps on slice shots. If I'd choose between the two, I'd go with the VCORE Pro 97, I prefer the feel of that one.
Since the VCORE Pro 97 is already so heavy, I added one four grams at 3 and 9 o' clock and it helped with stability and reduced some of the flex. You get a little less spin, but it's so spin-friendly anyway so it was a good trade-off for me.
I think I have to agree with that. I don't have an issue generating spin in general anyways. Have you tried the string Volkl V-torque tour? Or the Weiss Cannon Ultra cable by any chance? I'm a hyper G user on my DR98 and I was just curious. On a final note I don't recall seeing your review on the C-10 Pro from Volkl anything to say on that racquet by any chance?
Hi Bankim, it depends on which version you mean. The 18x20 Angell TC 95 is more controlled and has a flatter launch angle. The 16x19 Angell TC 95 is closer, but I prefer the Yonex over the 16x19 TC 95 70 RA that I have. I haven't been able to dial in the latter frame yet however. I would say the Yonex VCORE Pro 97 is easier to use.
Thanks for the reply. Yonex def makes pretty good rackets. The shape is just too weird for me. Could be bcoz of watching Martina Navratilova with her all white Yonex when I was a kid.LOL What is your current racket and specs ?
My coach said that the square head of my ezone 98 causes the racket to wobble when one hits in the upper quarters of the racket face as one does when trying to generate maximum pace because the mass is distributed further from the central axis of rotation. I for one actually found that counter intuitive because the moment of inertia is actually greater in a square head than the round head. But anyways 1. Have you heard of this Complaint or experienced it yourself if prior yonexes? 2. Did you find that to be a problem with this new vcore 97? 3. I'm thinking of upgrading to either this (310g) version or the cx200 tour 16x19. Is it difficult to suddenly go from a 98 to a 95??
Are you doing math or playing tennis? Why don't you stop theorizing and just give it a try... Whether or not this is a good fit for you simply comes down to how you play and how athletic you are... Forgot all the mathematics
Add a leather grip. The Wilson RF one is a good one. I had tbe same problem and the grip made the racquet infinitely more stable on volleys and slice / squash shots.
Felipe Chiefs The Wilson Burn FST 99 is a decent stick but unless you get a bargain price there are many other racquets I would look at with similar specs. What are you looking for in your next racquet and what do you like about the Burn 99?
Nice review but I don't think you have the right playing style / technique to truly unlock this racket (which is my racket of choice). I would also like to see better opponents so you can really put your rackets to the test (e.g. against more pace / heavier balls)
Thanks! Definitely this one. The RF97 is really string sensitive and can be stiff. I know elite players who have gotten elbow issues after playing with the RF97. The RF97 can be a fantastic racquet when you're on your game, but I'd recommend stringing it with a hybrid setup. This one is quite soft and user-friendly and didn't feel stiff to me even with a full bed of poly string. Good luck!
I play the RF97 and find gut main and alu rough/ crosses give me little or no arms issues :) the newer black ones do seem to play a little stiffer. Two friends at the club also have the older and newer ones and report the same.
You seem to put a lead tape on everything... you r biased for heavier raquets...so much effort to make raquets light and stable at the same time... just get a cricket bat.. enf plough
Using a heavy frame was an eye opener for me.... its not about the bragging rights and macho feeling,,, it forces your body to move effectively closer to how pros move

Vjeko Tezak
Hi,
I actually ended up purchasing the VCORE Pro 330 and I really like it.
3:13 - Great backhand
Have you ever demo Yonex Vcore Tour F (310)?
No, I have not. Missed the Tour F...
meepaolo Tour F will definitely be more harsh than the VCORE Pro 97 330.
Well I should have the Wilson Ultra Tour soon. It's sad/funny how nothing from HEAD feels like a classic HEAD.
The new Prestige Tour has a bit of old-school Prestige feel in a new package. Really like that one!
Would you recommend this racquet over the Pure Strike project one 7 in terms of touch at the point of contact?
Absolutely
V core pro 330 Vs Prince textreme tour 95. Which is better and comfortable?
Tough one. I like the Prince because I get a bit more control and it is also more comfortable.
@@Tennisnerd , thank u . I'm ordering it.
Nice review ! One question how does the flex in the hoop of this racquet compere to the flex in the hoop of the DR98 Yonex ?
I have a DR98 myself and i just got my Vcore 330 still waiting for it to get strung. What was your lead tape set up?
Flex in the hoop - OPS. Vcore made without OPS.
how does it compare to the Angell TC95?
Hi Bankim, it depends on which version you mean. The 18x20 Angell TC 95 is more controlled and has a flatter launch angle. The 16x19 Angell TC 95 is closer, but I prefer the Yonex over the 16x19 TC 95 70 RA that I have. I haven't been able to dial in the latter frame yet however. I would say the Yonex VCORE Pro 97 is easier to use.
Thanks for the reply.
Yonex def makes pretty good rackets. The shape is just too weird for me. Could be bcoz of watching Martina Navratilova with her all white Yonex when I was a kid.LOL
What is your current racket and specs ?
My coach said that the square head of my ezone 98 causes the racket to wobble when one hits in the upper quarters of the racket face as one does when trying to generate maximum pace because the mass is distributed further from the central axis of rotation. I for one actually found that counter intuitive because the moment of inertia is actually greater in a square head than the round head. But anyways
3:26 you called that OUT?!
Review the Wilson Burn if you can
Which Burn are curious about? I have tried them, but not have made an official review.
I was looking to buy the burn fst 99S, and i like your reviews so if you can do i would be grateful
Thanks. I think you'll like more recent videos a bit better!
Hi there nice review ! This or RF97 which one to go for if I want a heavy racquet but have slight elbow issues?
Good luck!
Great. Have ordered the VCP97330 today. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks for your suggestion :)
That's nice! Hope you enjoy it! Curious to hear how you like it.
I play the RF97 and find gut main and alu rough/ crosses give me little or no arms issues :) the newer black ones do seem to play a little stiffer. Two friends at the club also have the older and newer ones and report the same.
Interesting!
330 vs 310?
Playing in Isreal? Looks like Isreal to me, but could be way off.
Hi, it is actually in Malta!
Tennisnerd : Ha. Never would have thought Malta. Would imagine the weather is nice there since you are in the Med. Cheers. Keep up the good tennis.
@@TheTora75 Yeah, weather is usually good here! 300+ days of sunshine. Thanks!
0:36 the only thing that bothers me here is the terribly annoying music
i movie
Why does everyone have this same stock music at the beginning lol
Tennis spin channel is crap anyway but he puts the music in to make in worse lol

3:28 THAT BALL AINT OUT
No exactly, I cheated here. Not on purpose but kept that clip in to show what recreational tennis is often like...
You seem to put a lead tape on everything... you r biased for heavier raquets...so much effort to make raquets light and stable at the same time... just get a cricket bat.. enf plough
Sounds like somebody just can't handle man weight lol
I am actually trying to play with lighter frames these days and swing faster...but yes I am used to heavy sticks :)
Using a heavy frame was an eye opener for me.... its not about the bragging rights and macho feeling,,, it forces your body to move effectively closer to how pros move
All vcore made for customizing.
Yes, all racquets are made for customization :)
@@Tennisnerd ezone too?
Why, friend?
Watch this instead of stupid TW and TE
Dear tennisnerd, I was astonished you got rid of my critical comment. Does it mean you leave here only positive, neutral or easy critical comments. If it's the case I'm really sorry for the followers for they don't get the full picture.
If it's not the case I beg your pardon.
Anyhow my lost comment was simple: you level can NOT allow you to judge on a racket, Sir. As simple as that. You need a lot to do. Wishing you all the success and admiring your confidence 🤔👋
I did not remove it, I replied? Not sure what happened there. I never remove comments. This is an old video and I have improved my tennis quite a bit. Not saying it is good enough for you to watch it or find trust in my reviews. But hey, no one is forcing you. Some people seem to enjoy these videos and that's why I keep doing them. I never said that my level is very high, but I try to improve and love the game.
Originally thumbs down for that god awful and totally unnecessary music, but since it stopped im back to neither up or down
