Looking into re-visiting that third album of theirs as it's been forever and I don't remember giving it much of a chance back then. But, yeah, good band. Psyched to get the new album as well.
Thanks! Checked out one of your videos, saw about 20 seconds of it and went "Oh, yeah... SUBBED!" So, there you go. Also, I heard about you recently from Steven at Old Head, who had very nice things to say about your channel.
Great stuff Matt🤘nice to see more glam/hair metal. I’ve been seeking out some more obscure 80s metal albums recently would be cool to see more of these. Faith or Fear for me is a technical and sometimes progy thrash masterpiece, I picked up a copy recently also🤘 What can I say about Slayer other than awesome!!
I like to bring in a surprise or two on VRP. As you are no doubt aware, I listen to a wide variety of sub-genres within the hard and heavy spheres, and some of that will filter into my shows. Always pleased when someone gets it, and gets enjoyment out of it. Cheers!
Great video Matt, literally all these came out before i was born but... obviously aware of Raven and Onslaught, not sure who came first in the thrash scene here in the UK as I know Annihilated also claim to be the oldest of the group. Love Reign in Blood and was one of the very first thrash albums I got into . Great stuff as always mate 🤘🤘🍻
Some great finds there Matt. Power From Hell is high on my want list. I don't think the UK was ever on the map when it came to thrash metal, don't get me wrong there were some killer bands over here, but they were never taken that seriously by the record companies. I picked up that Faith or Fear album as a blind buy a few weeks back and since then your the third channel to feature it in recent weeks, strange how these things happen!
Well, yes, it's a map not everyone has read ;) As for Faith or Fear, I'm glad I finally got it on something more than cassette. And, yep, seeing Von Doom show it a few days after I bought it put me in the same place of perplexity. It is indeed a small VC.
Great vid! Don't think I ever heard of Fear or... I don't remember what they were called now... Criminally Insane is Criminally (...) underrated. Ok, I'll see myself out the door...
I had to laugh when you made fun of Stephen Pearcy for his look on the back cover photo of their debut EP. I’ve always said he stole his outfit from the Michelin Man. They updated that back cover photo on later editions of that record to a more flattering picture of the band. I own copies of both.
What did YOU think of these albums, either back when they came out or even now? Let me know that, or anything else relevant, in the comments below.
Love discovering new music with this series
Good to know. Thanks!
Best metal show on youtube without a doubt, content and presentation-wise. Keep up with the great work Matt \m/
Both you and Guz are setting very high standards 🤘
Thanks! And will do!
Love me some Onslaught! Their song, Metal Forces, is one of my favorite songs of all time, absolute killer

That's the Mercyful Fate shirt I need.
It's true. You do.
Big time fan of the show down here., man. A true pleasure to watch. It’s the morning so...tomato juice raised.

@@TheAccusationNetwork look at us...a big ol' happy family of CHUD-ly bangers. appreciate it. cheers
Matt, I love that RATT is the odd pick in the list
Caught that, did ya? ;)

Thanks! Happy to be bringing you the old stuff in addition to the rest.
Get in on some Steel cartel stuff!

LOL. Yeah, Faith or Fear. Decent record.

Saw the revised back cover pic some time back at a record store. Overall better choice. Heh, Michelin Man! Good one.
For a great metal band Raven made so many mistakes it isin't funny...they literally destroyed their own career.
I'll admit, my knowledge of their modern stuff is pretty spotty. Still wanting to check out the upcoming album, though.
