I think it's because most old fans are him playing the same role over and over. I have the the same issue with Fluke (from UWMA). I thought Nat Natasit (Naughty Babe) was the same but I was blown away by him in Two Worlds. He was seriously amazing, esp because it's a double role with extremely subtle differences, so making them 2 different people is very hard

It kinda made me a little mad when they say Earth isn't a good actor. I think Earth is acting his role out quite perfectly. BL fandoms that get toxic just baffle me. They want to see their ships showing lots of affection in public, and are terribly upset when popular pairs decide to work with different partners. Yet, when an actor is in an actual romantic relationship with his costar, people are upset that they are queer irl. They want the fantasy of their idols being in a ship, but the reality of queer actors is denied or worse, ridiculed. Seems the fandoms want their ships together forever, but not actually together outside the parameters of fan service.

If they hate feminine men (no matter the sexuality), they are misunderstanding themselves to be open-minded for watching those BLs tailored for them as the audience. I have a legitimate question. I'm going to preface the question by stating it's not to attack or offend any bl actors or bl fans, I am just genuinely curious. According to the video the "effeminate" bl actors who like to dress in a feminine way or act in a feminine way get hate for it. On one side, the perceived haters are claiming the actors are not manly enough and the other side thinks those peoples way of thinking is homophobic. So my hypothetical question is, how "feminine" is too feminine? Like, if one of the bl actors wanted to transition would they still get the hype and support they are getting for being themselves? It's easy to say yes, because they would still be part of lgbtq, but their place in the community doesn't change just the gender they prefer to be. So by that logic, they are no longer actors of same sex dramas. How would that be navigated? I've seen how "fans" get when bl actors get near a female or had "dating scandal" (I hate that phrase, they're dating, that's not scandalous. It's normal.) And I've seen how far fans support really goes until their faves do something they don't like, like having a different bl partner. I'm just really curious of how others perceive this notion. Manly or feminine is obviously a touchy topic but no one mentions the actors who are actually transgender in the industry. Which brings the next issue- is that because of looks? Pretty/cute privilege. Does any of it matter at all as long as the person is found to be pleasing to look at by the masses?
How can a femme man be too femme? I'm femme, I've been femme since I was a very small child, it's my nature, it wasn't something I learned to be, I wasn't groomed to be femme by others. Being trans isn't the same as being femme and though some femme men will transition most won't, they are still men. You raise some very good questions in your post, particularly by pointing out that one's sex isn't the same as one's gender.

As a mother of a son of the same age, i would have had a problem with my underage child participating in fan service at all, but with a man (referring to age, not gender) even more concerning. I have always liked Earth especially since LBC and UWMA. I recall seeing that clip of LBC cast bullying him and no way was that OK. He had to ask for help from the host, that’s how bad it was. I really like Earth. I think he's very brave for being himself no matter what. It takes a strong person to not give in to societal pressure. I honestly think that most the jobs earth is given is because of his femininity Due to bl kinda harsh but True “hate for hyperfeminine/ feminine in general gays. They are not gonna make a show that revolves around a feminine character so instead they fit him in where they best can and the next best thing to them is babyish. I feel like they try to mask the femininity with innocence to make him more marketable to bl fans. Although many fans like manly and masculine gays that would seem straight in real life there is one exception. The innocent sensitive uke which is likes by a large sum of the yaoi/bl fanbase. The biggest issue though is that this characteristic is more based off look, with a soft personality but more from a place of unintentional softness and not exactly feminine personality. That is why it doesn’t really work for earth because he is feminine through and through. From his mannerisms to the way he talks even the way he appears to people. So to be real as much as it sucks I don’t think he will ever get to reach his highest potential unless there is a push of feminine characters in bls.

Personally I find the cutesy stuff in Fourever you a bit cringe, Earth seems to be over compensating. But thats not just him, i find the actor who plays North is also a bit much in the overly cute scenes as well - but the acting in other parts of the drama is fine or good. TBH, the script and direction of the show is a bit lacking, but it still has some charm.

Most BL fans if not all are kpop stans and they found a paradise in this industry where they get to fantasize about these men. Most of them are raging homophobic people. Then on the other side there are also queer people who hate on femme men. It's sickening how the growth of BL as a genre could mean something for the community, yet we're seeing on a daily basis how most of the consumers are against the community in the first place and most actors that are openly queer are treated like garbage both by viewers and the people behind the scenes.

Earth is a beautiful soul he is who he is and I respect him for it - I believe he is a great actor and gives everything to his role, he does not get the recognition he deserves.
As for him being bullied of course he is it’s so obvious that it breaks my heart - I’ve watched other actors treat him appallingly and get away with it but he always seems to never fights back and try’s to keep his dignity.

Although I’ve personally never been that keen on Earth’s acting (among many others in this industry), mostly because of him playing too many similar roles and in dramas I didn’t like anyway, I admire that he stays true to himself even though he always seems to be getting the short end of the stick in every situation he’s in concerning the BL sphere. BL fandoms that get toxic just baffle me. They want to see their ships showing lots of affection in public, and are terribly upset when popular pairs decide to work with different partners. Yet, when an actor is in an actual romantic relationship with his costar, people are upset that they are queer irl. They want the fantasy of their idols being in a ship, but the reality of queer actors is denied or worse, ridiculed. Seems the fandoms want their ships together forever, but not actually together outside the parameters of fan service.
Too many fans want ships they can control, puppet boys not actual people.

Lucky for me I've only seen fans who absolutely adore feminine actors/outfits. If they hate feminine men (no matter the sexuality), they are misunderstanding themselves to be open-minded for watching those BLs tailored for them as the audience.

I have a legitimate question. I'm going to preface the question by stating it's not to attack or offend any bl actors or bl fans, I am just genuinely curious. According to the video the "effeminate" bl actors who like to dress in a feminine way or act in a feminine way get hate for it. On one side, the perceived haters are claiming the actors are not manly enough and the other side thinks those peoples way of thinking is homophobic. So my hypothetical question is, how "feminine" is too feminine? Like, if one of the bl actors wanted to transition would they still get the hype and support they are getting for being themselves? It's easy to say yes, because they would still be part of lgbtq, but their place in the community doesn't change just the gender they prefer to be. So by that logic, they are no longer actors of same sex dramas. How would that be navigated? I've seen how "fans" get when bl actors get near a female or had "dating scandal" (I hate that phrase, they're dating, that's not scandalous. It's normal.) And I've seen how far fans support really goes until their faves do something they don't like, like having a different bl partner. I'm just really curious of how others perceive this notion. Manly or feminine is obviously a touchy topic but no one mentions the actors who are actually transgender in the industry. Which brings the next issue- is that because of looks? Pretty/cute privilege. Does any of it matter at all as long as the person is found to be pleasing to look at by the masses?
How can a femme man be too femme? I'm femme, I've been femme since I was a very small child, it's my nature, it wasn't something I learned to be, I wasn't groomed to be femme by others. Being trans isn't the same as being femme and though some femme men will transition most won't, they are still men. You raise some very good questions in your post, particularly by pointing out that one's sex isn't the same as one's gender.

As a mother of a son of the same age, i would have had a problem with my underage child participating in fan service at all, but with a man (referring to age, not gender) even more concerning. Of course, we are not privy to the agreements/conversations behind this, so inappropriate to me based on my limited knowledge.

I have always liked Earth especially since LBC and UWMA. I recall seeing that clip of LBC cast bullying him and no way was that OK. He had to ask for help from the host, that’s how bad it was. I honestly think that most the jobs earth is given is because of his femininity Due to bl kinda harsh but True “hate for hyperfeminine/ feminine in general gays. They are not gonna make a show that revolves around a feminine character so instead they fit him in where they best can and the next best thing to them is babyish. I feel like they try to mask the femininity with innocence to make him more marketable to bl fans. Although many fans like manly and masculine gays that would seem straight in real life there is one exception. The innocent sensitive uke which is likes by a large sum of the yaoi/bl fanbase. The biggest issue though is that this characteristic is more based off look, with a soft personality but more from a place of unintentional softness and not exactly feminine personality. That is why it doesn’t really work for earth because he is feminine through and through. From his mannerisms to the way he talks even the way he appears to people. So to be real as much as it sucks I don’t think he will ever get to reach his highest potential unless there is a push of feminine characters in bls.

Personally I find the cutesy stuff in Fourever you a bit cringe, Earth seems to be over compensating. But thats not just him, i find the actor who plays North is also a bit much in the overly cute scenes as well - but the acting in other parts of the drama is fine or good. TBH, the script and direction of the show is a bit lacking, but it still has some charm.
