The 99999 VR Player has probably played since day 1. The game has been out for about 4 years now so it's expected there might be a group of 99k VR players. Then again, the game likely has hacks (it's an old game after all) so it could very well be hacked but I think it would be more evident if it were hacks. I did see them leave in the middle of a race at the 14:42 mark so maybe they are legit and don't want to lose unnecessary VR.
If you average 15 points per race and each race is an average of 3 minutes long, that means you'll have to put in 333 hours minimum to get 100,000 points
In theory, if some one plays straight for 17 hrs a day (assuming 7 hrs of sleep) and win every game (at 25 points) it would only take around 10 days to get that number. That has been out for a while now so that number is possible.

You're both forgetting something. You don't get NEARLY the max pt value for beating a room of people dozen of thousands of points under you... and you lose TONS of points for losing to people that much lower than you are. 99k VRs are just hacked. This is MarioKart, it's designed AGAINST you being that good.
@@pyrojkl just for reference one of the world record holders for a time trial time has over 1300 hours in the game and several people that play competitive I've seen with over 2000 so people grinding for only 600 to max is not unlikely also the games been out for almost 5 years
@Dirty Pixels yup but we all have our likes and dislikes. I honestly like all tracks in mario kart except baby park. Baby park would maybe be fun if u had the whole game filled with close friends to be in chaos with I guess lol.
@Dirty Pixels yeah definitely. Also Grumble volcano has been an iconic and well known map that everyone would love to play on the Wii. Being made into Mario kart 8 was amazing and looked way nicer and is still one of the most fun tracks of all time. Might be hard for some people though xD

Also when your in first always keep 1 coin you will always get a shell Bananna of some kind, use the wiggler kart with waluigj combo and always aim for purple boost hopping around before the corner will give you extra angle to get purple boost. Ok let's do the math: it took Ryu about 23 minutes for 8 matches so let's take that as a rough indication of the average time spent per race, including load times and wait times, which gives us 23:8=2.875 minutes Let's say you can manage to get 20 points per race on average mostly first places and good results otherwise. then to get 99.000 points you would need 99.000:20= 4950 races to get there. Which means 4950x2.875=14.231,25 minutes which is 237,1875 hours. I mean there are plenty of games I've spent more than 250 hours on so, it's pretty reasonable overall. Especially since the game has been out since 2014.
Yeah, 99k players are legit Ryu. They were around within the first year of the game. They usually are not matched with 4 digit players though so you never see them, unless it's thru a friend inviting them. I have about 40k VC with just under 400 hours total played. So this can be done within about a year of playing.

For years Ryu has been seeking the nirvana of Grumble Volcano :) I think it's pretty awesome. I've been playing and having a blast especially battle mode.
So apparently they removed the 9999 cap sometime back in 2015 or so? The people with really nuts scores, over 20K or so, are people who invest a lot of time into the game; basically, expect skill to cap out around 20K, with little variance beyond that.

VR only defines how much you play worldwides/regionals, it means little to nothing for skill That max VR peach player was bagging on DKJ, possibly because they don't take WWs seriously but no good player bags on DKJ in a FFA

The waluigi/wiggler combo is boring because everyone uses it. I use rosalina/varmint and win just as often.
