I thought the animation of this eipisode was oddly beautiful. I really liked seeing everyone hiking up the mountain with that almost hyper-realistic movement. It reminded me of the Take On Me music video animation.
Anime fans are traditionally stupid when it comes to their animation knowledge. My biggest pet peeve is the endless “budget” comments when that has nothing to do with the overall quality.

Something that always made me sad when hearing people's takes on Mob Psycho was them saying the Alien Arc was their least favorite, and while I can understand to an extent they're truly not seeing the amount of work and life being put into the animation here. There's so much bits and pieces of characterization scattered everywhere, and it was so refreshing to see things move with life. It's also a good set of episodes before something plot-heavy, a calm before the storm if you will. I appreciate them for the fact that they didn't need to go so hard with these side stories, especially since they aren't even action scenes, but they did anyway. Super good. Thank you for this analysis video.
I been waiting for you to upload this video. This episode was so fucking wholesome, and good and soft?? I don't even understand how they got this episode to look so fucking good. Everything so smooth, and soft and fluid. I will never understand how this studio pumps this out without batting an eye at all. Hakuyu Go was really amazing for getting the this entire episode to look so good with the great facial expressions. This episode might as well be the 20000 hand drawn frames and I wouldn't even be mad. Amazing episode, amazing animators and amazing video, thank you.
The UFO arc might not be my favorite arc of the season, but goddamn the animation here is god level. My favorite scenes are the entire car scene, Kurata's frustration moment (with the *chef's kiss* camera shake), the entire walking scene from the steps to the bridge. I'm so glad you pointed it all out.
Did people really think that the faceless scene was bad animation or a budget cut, for an episode with the smoothest animation yet in the season? Facelessness is often more intentional than a shortcut, often expressing how we focus more on the foreground characters and not minding irrelevant characters, but sometimes it's an even more deliberate style choice when it's your foreground characters. For kaguya sama season 2 they utilized this to show how one character wasn't connecting with the other characters around him. Although it might take me a couple of rewatches to figure out its purpose for this episode in particular I have no doubts that that was deliberate and can add meaning or depth to that scene when we read its purpose.
I didn't know this was the episode with all the cuts, like many I assumed it would have been an action dense ep, but even without knowing this one did grab my attention. It felt like such an intimate, personal, and fun episode and the animation brought it to life.
this episode was my favorite this season, and not coincidentally, Hakuyu Go's previously directed episode in season 2 was also my favorite. there is a special charm on the way he portrays animation, not only just conveying a story through moving images, but also making you feel like you are there
This has got to be the most amazing episode of Mob Psycho yet for me. The animation was so amazing that it amplified the experience of a Slice of Life and made it more close to life and what is it about just a regular day that makes it so special.
Recently watched Space Dandy and this episode gave me the same vibes as some of the more abstract Dandy episodes. Dope to see when a team loves the show they are making. Masterpiece.
So this is why this episode blew my mind. The animation and cinematography was next level even for the standards mob set. Everything in this episode felt surreal and just really realistic and more grounded then anything i could imagine.
loved this episode and while though im still a bit bummed that the 20k frame episode wasnt for the final arc i still think this is one of the most beautiful and breathtaking episodes in terms of animation and character acting. honestly i think the reason they made this the 20k episode was to solidify tomes way of viewing the world and especially that day through this rose-coloured sorta childlike(?) wonder. she really does take in the beauty and fun of the little mundane things (my favourite detail was her balancing on the track/beam while everyone else walks like normal at 5:11 ) and to reflect that in a subtly beautiful and smooth high-effort animated episode is genius

This episode is simply beautiful and weird. This show really cares about what they are putting out there. The alien thing was strange but to me at least was very wholesome, the start of this season had a giant godlike broccoli and a weird copy of Mob. This show is weird that's the point.
