@roadracingme well i guess i didnt explain it correctly. The receptacle goes on the back side of the upper, so when the dzus is installed on the front of the lower and secured, the "joggle" or "seam" between the lower and upper are tight together. When I looked at the final product here, there is a gap between the 2 fairings INSIDE the seam is caused from your placement of the receptacle. Hope I explained that correctly

Sick work dude, I was wondering if you were gonna leave it unpainted lol, that paintjob at the end looks fantastic.
I bought a race tail for my R6 and modified it for the brake light and licence plate. Much cheaper, lighter and simpler than the 450 parts if once had.
i have a question about when you put the "backing plate" in between the upper and lower where the meet. why not install the Backing plate on the BACK SIDE of the upper so the backing plate isnt in the seam of the 2 cowlings? this is going to chaff over time with vibration and the metal is going to eat up that fiberglass. Its alot better to have just the rivit heads in the seam, which will cause minimal chafffing.
quick question my fairings came with fasnters already put in with that retaining washer :/ how do i get them of the fairings? do i need to break them of or anything? cheers

lol...next time be careful about drilling...i was drilling like you and accidentally i drilled my fingers..so please use proper safety equipment when drilling

Every fairing sets I saw do not have it.
Does the tank cover help in any way? Is it preventing tank from damage? If no, what is it for?

no thats the whole point of having RACE fairings its for racing and in racing you rarely need lights if you want lights keep the stock fairings.
